Question
I wish to make a series of indices which reduce a large volume of variables into a numerous indices for data analysis .  The data is a collection of scale and ordinal variables.
I see that many authors have produced them, but none detail sufficiently the process through which they are made.  Can anyone provide any guidance or know of a good source of information?
