Objectives: The main aim of this work is to design and construct aquaponic systems to investigate to which extent the content of nutrients in water discharged from fish farms is sufficient for growing vegetable plants, in order to reduce the using of chemical fertilizers, save water, improve the plant and fish and increase the water use efficiency. Also, a mathematical model will be developed to predict the nutrients consumption and its relationship between fish and plant production. Specific objectives: 1- Studying the effect of effluent water flow rate on the nutrient consumption, vegetative parameters and yield components of plants. 2- Studying the effect of effluent water flow rate on the weight gain of fish, fish growth rate, specific growth rate and feed conversion ratio. 3- Studying the water use efficiency. 4- Developed of nutrient consumption model to assess the nutrient consumption and its relation to the plant growth. 5- Validating the developed mathematical model. 6- Determining the feasibility of system utilization.
