Our main objectives are: (1) to compare microhabitat selection and thermoregulation abilities of different lizards from the Pantanal and Cerrado (Brazil), and (2) to assess the influence of the personality in the thermoregulation ability lizards To achive these aims, we will conduct experiments in different species of lizards of the families Tropiduridae and Teiidae, so our results can be generalized.
First we conducted a meta-analysis on the role of different biotic and abiotic traits in the thermoregulation of Lacertid lizards, among wich seasonality resulted the most important. Then, we assessed the thermal ecology of five species of Iberolacerta, studying different questions, as the effect of seasonal changes in the thermal preferences of lizards, the effect of wind speed in the thermoregulation effectiveness, and the current impact of climate change in two populations and how lizards may be buffering it.
