Objective This study aimed to estimate the proportion and number of incident upper-extremity musculoskeletal disorders (UEMSD) cases attributable to occupational risk factors in a working population.
Methods Between 2002−2005, occupational physicians randomly selected 3710 workers, aged 20–59, from the Pays de la Loire (PdL) region. All participan...
Points essentiels
Even though exposure to chlorine gas has been quite frequent in the past few decades, no specific antidotes exist. This umbrella review aimed to investigate possible recommendations for treatment after a chlorine gas exposure. A published systematic review protocol that adapted the existing Navigation Guide methodology was used for including studie...
Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess the efectiveness of physical activity (PA) interventions on return to work
(RTW) in cancer survivors, compared to usual care, and to determine the dose of PA needed to improve this outcome.
Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted according to PRISMA guidelines. Six electron...
Abstract
Background and Aims
Evidence on the link between sleep patterns and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) in the community essentially relies on studies that investigated one single sleep pattern at one point in time. This study examined the joint effect of five sleep patterns at two time points with incident CVD events.
Methods
By combining the...
Anaemia continues to be a major public health challenge in developing countries, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa. This study estimated the proportion of anaemia cases that could be potentially prevented among children aged 6-59 months in Togo. Data from the 2017 national Malaria Indicator survey in Togo, the last one conducted to date, was used...
Background
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are a major public health concern, particularly among adolescents and young adults living in West Africa who reported higher prevalence of risky sexual behaviors. We therefore proposed a protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the prevalence of risky sexual behaviors for STIs amon...
Introduction: Evidence on the link between sleep habits and cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in the community predominantly relies on studies that have investigated only one sleep habit, measure at one timepoint. Therefore, this study examined the joint effect of five sleep habits at baseline and at follow-up with incident CVD events.
Hypothesis: We a...
Background/Introduction
Most studies on the association between sleep habits and cardiovascular disease (CVD) have focused on one single sleep dimension, essentially sleep duration and sleep apnea.
Purpose
To examine the joint effect of several dimensions of sleep habits with incident CVD in a community-based prospective cohort.
Methods
Between 2...
Background/Introduction: Most studies on the association between sleep habits and cardiovascular disease (CVD) have focused on one single sleep dimension, essentially sleep duration and sleep apnea.
Purpose: To examine the joint effect of several dimensions of sleep habits at baseline and over time with incident CVD (coronary heart disease or stro...
Introduction
Introduction: Systematic reviews are routinely used to synthesize current science and evaluate the evidential strength and quality of resulting recommendations. For specific events, such as rare acute poisonings or preliminary reports of new drugs, we posit that case reports/studies and case series (human subjects research with no control group) ma...
The objective of this paper is to assess the combined effect of occupational biomechanical and psychosocial risk factors on the incidence of work-related upper-extremity musculoskeletal disorders (UEMSDs) and estimate the proportion and number of incident cases attributable to these risk factors in a working population. Using data from the French C...
Upper-extremity musculoskeletal disorders (UEMSD) constitute one of the most worrying issues in occupational and public health due to their considerable human, social and occupational costs. Effective and sustainable prevention of UEMSD continues to be a challenge for public health practitioners and policymakers. The moderate impact of the preventi...
Introduction
Background
Access to antiretroviral treatment has improved the life expectancy of HIV-positive patients, most often associated with a desire to limit childbearing. Women living with HIV (WLHIV) commonly have unmet need for contraception and could be at risk of unintended pregnancy. Preventing unintended pregnancies among women living with HIV are e...
Background:
Upper extremity musculoskeletal disorders (UEMSD) are one of the most common and costly occupational health problems. We aimed to assess the population-attributable fraction (PAF) of personal and occupational risk factors associated with incident UEMSD in a working population.
Methods:
From 2002 to 2005, a random sample of 3710 worke...

Introduction

Methods: From 2002 to 2005, a random sample of 3710 workers from the Pays de la Loire region in...
Background
Anemia in children continues to be a major public health challenge in developing countries and particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa. Anemia has serious consequences on the growth and development of the children in the early stages of life. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and associated factors of anemia among children from 6 t...
In 2007, IARC classified ”shift work that involves circadian disruption” as probably carcinogenic to humans. To date, the evidence that night shift work increases the risk of breast cancer remains limited, partly because exposure to night work is defined differently across studies. To overcome this limitation, we created a single harmonised dataset...
