Introduction
I currently work on 5 main research topics: - Creative planning & sustainable local development, especially in small and medium-sized towns; - Role of social and institutional innovation in urban transformation; - The relationships between Nature and the City; - Metropolization dynamics at the regional scale; - Impact of major infrastructures on metropolitan attractiveness. My research builds on an interdisciplinary and comparative approach, and combines in a systematic way theoretical elaboration & modelling with various empirical methods (surveys, case studies, statistical and data analysis...). Rooted in a broad understanding of social and human sciences, my work covers varied geographical, historical, institutional, socioeconomic, cultural... contexts and territorial scales.
