Introduction
ABDEL-SALAM GOMAA received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in statistics from Cairo University in 2004, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in statistics from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA), in 2006 and 2009, respectively. Prior to joining Qatar University as an Assistant Professor and a Coordinator of the Statistical Consulting Unit, he taught at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, Virginia Tech, and Oklahoma State University. His research interests include all aspects of industrial statistics and Economic Capital Models, including statistical process control, multivariate analysis, regression analysis, exploratory and robust data analysis, mixed models, nonparametric and semiparametric profile monitoring.
