The project is aimed at studying the soil cover patterns on cropland in connection with the erosion-accumulation processes. The study of erosion structures of the soil cover requires an interdisciplinary approach with the combined use of soil cartography and erosion science. Today, such interdisciplinary studies are few. Digital modeling of erosion soil cover patterns will be carried out on the basis of unique author's developments using a database of morphological and analytical properties of soils, as well as new approaches in digital soil mapping, computer modeling of erosion-accumulation processes, quantitative estimates of soil erosion, based on radiocesium and magnetic tracer methods. As a result of the research, the features of formation of erosion soil cover patterns on territories with different physiography conditions and history of agricultural development, will be revealed and compared. In addition to studying the spatial organization of the soil cover, pedodiversity will be assessed. Finally, the erosion soil combinations will be systematized in connection with the geometric features of their ranges, spatial distribution and formation factors.
