Introduction
Research work started with interest in Hydrology and the check dams constructed in JNU are fruits. Mostly demographic issues are studied. Presently studying the demographic characteristics of Neo-Indians in erstwhile enclaves in Cooch Behar. Moreover, the different demographic aspects of river islanders in Malda district is also being investigated. Impact of river shifting on demography and elementary education are also being probed.
The studies are primarily based on comprehensive field works.
