Old fortarn 77 programmes ?

how can i convert fortarn 77 programmes to latest versions so that i can run using ifort. there r some syntax involved because of which old fortan 77 prog cant run on ifort compiler ?

Thank u Pavlos. i downloaded f2f-0.95 from lemonlab.net

it contains a read, license and f2f.pl file

i gave f2f.pl s.f a.f90 it didnt work. what should i do.... i dont know where i am faulting. i am working on ubuntu 10.04

Thanks peter for elaborate explanation. i agree what u say. when i convert using perl f2f a.f b.f90 and i compile using ifort b.f90 i get series of errors. they seem to b minor but too technical for me.

A lot of debate takes place on what programming languages and their use when implementing numerical methods especially when it comes to problems that require the handling of large number of computations. Like in the case of FEM where professional programmers and scientists argue whether to use C, C++, Fortran, Matlab or other programming tools, in order to develop fast and accurate performing software applications. Do you believe that by using a fast language is the solution in developing a fast and reliable software application or the algorithmic implementation affects the most the final performance?

I have tried using the software VAMPIRE to simulate curie temperature, but I am not being able to do it correctly for some reason. Can anyone please tell me how to do it just by using Python or some other programing language?

Imagine that I am interested in re-analysing a .csv document publicly available on the OSF, e.g., https://osf.io/gdr4q/ Is there anyway I could directly access that file from R using something analogous to data <- read.csv2("https://osf.io/gdr4q/", header=TRUE, na.strings="NA")?

Dear colleagues,

As I am new in the domain of teaching courses, so it takes too much of time to prepare my course, saying for example: cryptography course, web development,..etc,... So, my problem is that, for every short period, there is something of new especialy in web development, (e.g., new programming languages, new packages, new technologies,....soon so forth), so my question is that, really I can not cope with myself to update my course for every short time,.., so by doing that I come to loose so much of time and efforts, which guide to a negative impact on the time preserved for my research investigation?!

So, any advice is so welcome !
