Which solvents should I use to test antioxidant activity of polysaccharides using DPPH assay?
I have some fractions of polysaccharides and I want to test them by using DPPH. In general, people use methanol or ethanol as a solvent to dissolve DHHP. But my samples can precipitate with them

Dear Yen Thi My Nguyen, solubility is not of sole importance, though methanol is the most casually used solvent, other consideration on the influence of the solvent on the quality of analysis. Please have a look at the following links. My Regards

The most common solvents used to test the antioxidant activity of polysaccharides using the DPPH assay are methanol, ethanol, and acetone. In addition, water, dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), and dimethylformamide (DMF) may also be used.
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) can cause hemolysis, resulting in disorders including sickle cell anemia and thalassemia. The relationship between hemolysis and venous thrombosis is complex and encompasses both traditional thrombotic risk factors and unique prothrombotic processes connected to hemolysis. Free radicals produced by autoxidation reactio...
bc The antioxidative capacity and structure–activity relationships of ten Schiff bases were investigated experimentally and theoretically. All compounds contain the aniline moiety, while the aldehyde part is either salicylaldehyde or vanillin. The DPPH assay was used to test the potential antioxidative activity of these compounds, and DFT study was...
The purpose of this study was to assess the antioxidant and antibacterial activities of Ixora chinensis and Cascabela Thevetia leaf. Leaf parts of Ixora chinensis and Cascabela Thevetia plants were subjected to prepare the extracts with pure methanol and ethanol as solvent. These leaf extracts were evaluated for their antioxidant and antibacterial...
