What tubing material is the best in terms of biocompatibility for cell culturing?
I am planning a fluid dynamic experiment and wonder what tubing material is biocompatible for cell culturing experiment. Also wonder if there is a tubing material that can be sterilize.
Implant studies are often the most direct evaluation of device biocompatibility. The test material is placed in direct contact with living tissue. After an appropriate period, the implant site is recovered and examined microscopically for tissue reaction.
Components of biocompatibility. In addition to the beneficial tissue response and the clinically relevant performance of a biomaterial, cytotoxicity, genotoxicity, mutagenicity, carcinogenicity and immunogenicity are considered to be the components which constitute “biocompatibility”
We review studies that quantify newly discovered forces from single enzymatic reactions. These forces arise from the conversion of chemical energy to kinetic energy, which can be harnessed to direct diffusion of the enzyme up a concentration gradient of substrate, a novel phenomenon of molecular chemotaxis. When immobilized, enzymes can move fluid...
Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) has many desirable attributes for the development of microfluidic systems, including simple fabrication processes, biocompatibility, optical transparency and flexibility. However, the partitioning of small hydro-phobic molecules into the bulk of PDMS is in part behind the slow industrial acceptance of PDMS microfluidic d...
