Cadmium sulfide is said to be a carcinogen and said to cause serious life threatening diseases. However cadmium sulfide nanoparticles and quantum dots have been shown to be cytotoxic to some melanoma cells. As they are carcinogens by themselves, is it feasible to use them as apoptosis agents in cancer treatment?

Is there any relation or correlation between zinc concentration decreases and cadmium exposure ?

Can someone tell me why AAS is not always used for determination of cadmium in media? I have done some analysis to determine metals like Pb, Cu, Cr, Cd and Zn and Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer was employed. But going through some journal papers, I notice researchers do not encourage the use by likes of ICP-OE etc.
