What are the best antibiotics/ fungicides to kill bacteria/ fungi in litter decompositionstudies?

I am about to start a lab-based experiment where some of the treatments of leaf litter require either bacterial or fungal exclusion and am wondering what the best (defined by most effective vs cost) bacteriocide/ fungicides are and why?

The best - most effective and cheap - bactericide and fungicide for leaf litter is bleach - sodium hipoclorite solutions - at low doses. Try several doses at 5, 10 and 15 % and adjust the most adequate.
Good luck with your work.
