Warning! another predatory conference
warning! another predatory conference now.
This below conference (longdom) has answered my question on where in Toronto it takes place. After contacting the Holiday Inn Toronto, the hotel states
- Hello Stefan,
I confirmed with our Sales and Catering Team, and we do not have anything in our calendar for a conference or group under the name you provided.

Dear Stefan Lindstrom They are mentioned in the publisher’s version of the Beall’s list as well (see enclosed figure).
Looking at the contact address Longdom Conferences https://www.longdom.com/contact and “Longdom Publishing SL” https://www.longdom.org/contact-us.html are one and the same (registered as “Longdom Group SA”).
This company is part of the OMICS ‘empire’ a notorious predatory publisher see for a quite telling story about their way of operation here https://forbetterscience.com/2023/01/25/the-pullulating-polyps-of-omics/ (or just https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OMICS_Publishing_Group ).
By the way I think that in most cases the event actually takes place, but it is of no value to attend such conference, see also
Anyway, indeed a good warning here, one should avoid this for sure.
Best regards.

List of current predatory/fake congresses?
Keshia Broucke
Hello everyone,
The last months, I've received many invites to conferences (e.g. from Horizon Sciences Conferences, Pride Conferences, Prime Meeting (GMFST2023, ...)) for which many are clearly fake, though some appear to be more "professional".
Is there a website/list present with organizing committees that have been flagged as fake or predatory?
https://thinkchecksubmit.org/ already gave some great advice.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Keshia
What is InTech Open Science? A predatory or a ligitimate publisher?

Dear friends colleagues, have you ever received an invitation to publish your work at InTech Open Science (https://www.intechopen.com/)? I have recently been invited to edit a new book title for them. I am usually suspicious with such invitations and must check the authenticity of the publisher first. Interestingly, they claim that they have published the work for two recent Nobel Laureates. Therefore, I would appreciate your experience and opinions regarding InTech Open Science.
Kind regards,

The essays in this volume have been gathered together to honor Eric H. Lenneberg. Together they represent the broad range of topics in which he took some interest.
