Is it possible to assign different driving behaviors for each lane in a link with more than one lane in Vissim?
Question

Luckson Kamisa
I am modelling Autonomous Vehicles in Vissim using the internal procedures. I want the outermost right lane only to have a large headway time when vehicles approach the merge area of a freeway so that vehicles on the ramp can merge safely.
I am aware that I can use an external interface (script). I already used python to generate platoons but I want to know if there is a way I can assign different time headway in lanes that are in the same link without using an external interface.
Kindly refer to the attached picture.
Thank you

Hi,
I will have data for driver behavior which will be collected with driving simulator. Steer angle and lateral car displacement is common variable for driving performance. Im thinking about how can i categorized good and bad driving performance by determining threshold or range of lateral displacement or steer angle as bad driving behavior.
Regards,
Faezeh
How can I differentiate speeding driving behaviour and aggressive driving behaviour via instrumented vehicle?

Teo Raymond
I am studying about speeding driving behaviour via instrumented vehicle. I have carried out my experiments on a test track using a conventional sedan-type instrumented vehicle. However, I am uncertain that my findings are "speeding" and not "aggressiveness". Any advice?
Is there an existing Driver Behaviour Questionnaire constructed based on The Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB)?

I am interested in measuring speeding driving behaviour through the drivers' speeding intention which according to TPB it includes measuring the drivers' attitude towards speeding, perceived norm, perceived behavioural control and intention.
What parameter can I change in VISSIM to match the speed and volume to observed data?

Hi there,
Thank you for concerning about my question. I am new to VISSIM.
I am now trying to match the average speed and volume of specific
data collection point
to the observed loop detector data. For this purpose, I have changed the desired speed distribution, Vehicle composition and driving behavior. I set Vehicle inputs by time interval with observed volume and choose
Voltype
as EXACT. However, I do not know why the Vehs(ALL) in data collection results list does not match the volumes which I input.
Additionally, what other parameters can I change to obtain better simulated results?
Thank you.
For an uncontrolled intersection, how to determine the critical gap time needed to have a safe stop (based on running speed)?
Question

Indrajit Ghosh
We are conducting the safety analysis at several uncontrolled intersections where no traffic control devices are present. We want to compare Post Encroachment Time (PET) and critical gap time for the safe stop. For those who are not familiar with the term PET, here is the definition:
The time between the first road user leaving the common spatial zone (in a two road user encounter) and the second road user arriving at it.
It is possible to determine the PET manually from the recorded video. But, my question is how to come up with the critical gap required for a safe stop based on running speed.
Thanks in advance.
