PhD vs MPH in global health

One of my dearest professors has recommended me to a global health professor in a great US university to pursue a Ph.D. in global health. And, the second professor also is inviting me to apply there. What is your opinion about a Ph.D. in global health? Do you think it is not a time-wasting process to follow global health in an academic setting? Some say, for global health, you should be in the playfield and not in the classrooms! What What do you think? Also what between Ph.D. and a MPH in global health? Please share your opinion; your thoughts are constructive for me.

The PhD is entirely what you make of it. Ensure that you are following your interests and your passions, while setting up jobs at the end of it. Be neither ashamed of nor constrained by a specific topic name, such as "global health".

Recently I have been able to discuss happiness in life with chronically ill patients (I am a research director at a private cancer foundation). We have realized that both good and bad things happen in life. What seems essential in life is how you react to these events. If events of life (good and bad) are received honestly accepting them as they emerge, then it is possible to experience deep happiness, peace of mind, and joy every day. Even if you are burdened by a chronical disesae.
In the event of difficulties we can learn from good and bad happenings. It seems paramount to find the keys of success in all events of life (good or bad). When good things happen in life, then there is a clear reason to be genuinely grateful and to feel genuine happiness.
We are learning step by step the secrets of a good life by accepting the things that happen to us.
Let’s think about this simple but important thing leading to a happy life: self-acceptance.

What is the difference between health promotion and health education?

I've argued for over a decade now that it is 'essential' that the terms health promotion and health education are delineated and separated out. Many health practitioners use the terms interchangeably to mean the same thing. Many of those practitioners might view the 'difference' between them as semantics; as not important - especially those working in healthcare and health service-based settings. I, however, have suggested that the only way that health professionals can be seen to be credible with the wider health promotion community, is if we all fully use the exact language and context of health promotion and health education and apply this to clinical practice and other health arenas. Do you agree - or have a differing view?
What do you think of the exams in the scientific departments through virtual sites? Did you achieve the goal?

Hello everyone!
I am a graduate student at Arizona State University and we are focusing on the difference between research and evaluation. I teach Kindergarten and am working toward my Literacy Education graduate degree. In my opinion, research focuses on gaining new knowledge about a topic or purpose, while evaluation focuses on the program or purpose already used and then asking questions about it to understand its effectiveness. In your opinion, what is the major difference between research and evaluation?
As a classroom teacher, how do you think this be utilized or defined in a classroom, especially at the primary level?
Does a length of a Ph.D thesis matter? What is a reasonable length of a thesis in your field of study?

Whether the length of a thesis is a mark of quality is a subject that is treated differently in different fields and universities. While it is universally accepted, in some fields e.g., the arts and ecology, that a well-researched PhD thesis ought to achieve some number of words, some fielded e.g., mathematics and physics, may not place a lot of emphasis on the length of PhD theses. What is your opinion of this subject, and what is the practice in your field/ institution.

Universities are meant to produce citizen first rather than scientist, engineers and etc, Universities have sole responsibility to provide motivation and behavioural environment in their respective institutions. But beating drums for publications and enjoying credits by the name of research and development. It is a high time to raise this issue in proper forum to monitor and evaluate not only the working of Universities but also the capabilities of faculties including administration of the Universities. I congratulate the learned faculties of Dutch University thinking on same line and to remind us what is needed at this juncture. As also stated by them science research without any usefulness on ground is meant for personal growth only.
