I'm working on a project in which we are analyzing how trade affects disease thresholds in livestock production systems. I need a good dynamic model of trade between regions that can incorporate disease risks (and ideally fits well with the SIR framework). Any suggestions?

What do you recommend, a PO mineral (salt) intake or IM mineral to cattle? I observed that in a herd of cattle not all the animals have the same access to salt and there are a lot of losses due to weather and other factors. Are we losing money offering salt to cattle?

Twenty eight goats have died on a newly established goat farm on a daily basis due to copper poisoning. No treatment is effective against this problem. The source of the copper is undetectable, every thing has been checked from feedstuffs to drinking water and soil. Still we are searching for the source in various locations and utensils. But daily one goat is dyeing with few hours diarrhea, nasal secretions, loss of appetite and falling on ground then death even after all supporting and shock treatment. All animals behave normally a few hours before illness. All animals are vaccinated against CCPP, Anthrax, and ETV. Clinical symptoms, post-mortum reports, morbidity rate and mortality pattern, failure of antibiotics effect and lab tests support the diagnosis of copper poisoning.

Posilac is a slow-release, long-lasting formula of bovine growth hormone which I've used successfully in the past to study fundamental physiological, behavioral and ecological effects of GH and fast growth in fish. It was produced by Monsanto which had a generous policy of supplying it for basic research projects. Since a few years back, however, it's production has been taken over by Eli-Lilly/Elanco Animal Health, which don't seem to have the same policy for supporting basic research.

I know Posilac is used by a lot of US dairy farmers, and perhaps elsewhere in central and South America, but it's not allowed for dairy production in Europe (where I'm working).
