Lamarckian genetic algorithm ?
Hi, I am studying the lamarckian genetic algorithm
But what's the difference with the standard genetic algorithm?
Most recent answer
Mendel, father of Genetics, was of the opinion that every living organism is a function of its Genes. Genes determines everything. So Man is a puppet. He cant do anything more than what is hard-coded in his genes.
This is ritually followed verbatim by GA.
However, Lamarck came into the scene. He said.... 'Oh come on, Mendel. We all know individuals write their own destiny'. I can break out of my Gene cage if I make an effort to change myself.... And that my friend is Local search.
Apparently, LGA is giving better results than GA. Does that mean Mendel was wrong? Only God knows.

i have most article about Lamarckian genetic algorithm
but i don't know different it with standard GA algorithm

GA performs only global search and LGA algorithm is a hybrid algorithm (both genetic and local search). Hence, it is more efficient and has enhanced performance relative to genetic algorithm alone. In LGA each generation is followed by local search on a user defined proportion of the population.
I would recommend you to check if a single algorithm or combination of algorithms will work better for your research problem.

I know LGA algorithm is a hybrid algorithm (global and local search)
but How is local search in GA and what's the difference with the standard genetic algorithm in parameter and operator?

DGs are now commonly used in distribution systems to reduce the power disruption in the power system network. Due to the installation of DGs in the system, the total power loss in the can be reduced and voltage profile of the buses and reliability of the system can be improved.
