Is Temazepam commonly used in long-term care homes?

I am looking to record seizure activity during sleep in a patient with JME. It will be over a course of 2 months; therefore, I would like to minimize combinatory video/EEG footage (approximately 8 hours a night of sleep x 7 days a week equates to 56 hours a week for 2 months, adds up to be quite lengthy number of hours!). Is there a more streamlined approach to measuring seizure activity under lengthy sleeping conditions? I would have preferred to randomly select 3 days a week to video/EEG activity; however, I am afraid of compromising validity because the patient's seizure frequency and timing is not fully clear. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

What is the appropriate statistical test to predict the effect of more than two independent variables on a dependent variable?. I have the pain as dependent variable , and depression, anxiety, fear, age, sleep ,duration of symptoms, age, gender , BMI as Independent variables ?. Could i apply a regression analysis to these data?

ABSTRACT: Symptoms of psychological distress and disorder have been widely reported in people under quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic; in addition to severe disruption of peoples’ daily activity and sleep patterns. This study investigates the association between physical-activity levels and sleep patterns in quarantined individuals. An international Google online survey was launched in April 6th, 2020 for 12-weeks. Forty-one research organizations from Europe, North-Africa, Western-Asia, and the Americas promoted the survey through their networks to the general society, which was made available in 14 languages. The survey was presented in a differential format with questions related to responses “before” and “during” the confinement period. Participants responded to the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire and the short form of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire. 5056 replies (59.4% female), from Europe (46.4%), Western-Asia (25.4%), America (14.8%) and North-Africa (13.3%) were analysed. The COVID-19 home confinement led to impaired sleep quality, as evidenced by the increase in the global PSQI score (4.37 ± 2.71 before home confinement vs. 5.32 ± 3.23 during home confinement) (p < 0.001). The frequency of individuals experiencing a good sleep decreased from 61% (n = 3063) before home confinement to 48% (n = 2405) during home confinement with highly active individuals experienced better sleep quality (p < 0.001) in both conditions. Time spent engaged in all physical-activity and the metabolic equivalent of task in each physical-activity category (i.e., vigorous, moderate, walking) decreased significantly during COVID-19 home confinement (p < 0.001). The number of hours of daily-sitting increased by ~2 hours/days during home confinement (p < 0.001). COVID-19 home confinement resulted in significantly negative alterations in sleep patterns and physical-activity levels. I am looking to use the SynWin test in an upcoming study. I have found many articles using and describing the test however cannot seem to find any way in which I can actually obtain the test.

Does anyone know how I could access SynWin or a similar multitask test?

I am currently doing an experiment on sleep deprivation in Drosophila, but have some doubts with the data analysis.

I am using the second day of LD as a sleep baseline, three days of nighttime ZT12-ZT24 for mechanical deprivation, and the fourth day as a sleep rebound. After using PYSOLO to get the amount of sleep at each time point in Drosophila for analysis.

The sleep deprivation is the difference between the amount of sleep at each hour during the deprivation period compared to the previous night and then divided by the total sleep of the previous night. But I don't know how to analyze the sleep rebound, is it : (Day 4 minus Day 3 for each hour in LD)/(total amount of sleep lost)?

It would be great for me if anyone knows some related protocol or articles !!!

I know that PSQI is used as a self reporting questionnaire to evaluate and score the sleep quality of a person. I am currently trying to test the effects of different conditions on sleep quality.

My question is: Can I use this questionnaire each day where participants will be filling it after waking up from a specific condition night? Conditions I am testing is separated by nights and will continue for 3 to 4 weeks with random order.

I'm planning to analyze sleep quality using Pittsburgh Sleep Questionnaire Index (PSQI) score and assessing insomnia severity using Insomnia Severity Index (ISI).

I've seen at least three dozen publications using mean and SD to describe both. The question is: - is it actually possible to describe PSQI and ISI in a population using mean and SD?

For what I mean, lets take example from NIH Stroke Scale for stroke;

NIHSS = 4 means "mild stroke", but it's not only can be interpreted as "alert patient with partial gaze palsy with drifting left arm and left leg" but also "alert patient with limb ataxia and gaze palsy". Does this apply for PSQI and ISI?

In one of our biomedical projects, we need to evaluate the efficacy of our sleep detection algorithm. Can anybody suggest a data set for evaluation?

The ideal sleep hours are found to be more in childhood, decreases in the youth period and further reduces in the middle and old age.

As such with the age we need less sleep or it depend upon the tendency of a person? Man need less sleep or woman? Why?
