Seriously, REDD+ Strategy for forest carbon sequestration in India Himalayan region mark a new era for Himalayan ecological research by the pace of climate change? However, new suggestions by scientific research through multiple publication in IHR, Govt might boost the mitigation policies in the ground level? i think our community and politician aren’t convinced that a rapid climate crisis lies ahead

The major chunk of Carbon is sequestered into sea. The forest growth is almost at a stationary phase means no incremental growth is reported in forest. In this scenario, my concern is about the reality the forest contribution towards C-sequestration. Either it contributing or not?

I want to run an analysis on how 2 forest management scenarios differ in the provision of ecosystem services.

For both scenarios, I have the total amount hectares of forest cover and composition of forest types.

Now, I want to make a educated forecast on how much carbon will sequestrated in both forests.

Are there any carbon sequestration values I can use to multiple with the amount of forest type X hectares?

I have minor knowledge on biomass and forestry, and I just have learned it for the last six months. After I read more, this question comes to mind. Which one is more meaningful or deeply thought by the forester regarding biomass issue? Is it more as the alternative renewable energy source or an action toward climate change mitigation? Maybe suggestions of some reading materials will be helpful.

In forest carbon stock assessment, we usually use allometric equation to get AGB, times 0.5 to get carbon & times -44/12 to get CO2 emission (removal) value.

I'm doing a research of the protential carbon sequestration of forests in a specific country (I can discuss the country right now because of contract issues) and I would like to know what data besides growing stock should I take into consideration when doing the calculation? The forests are mainly boreal forests and they are not very diverse but I wonder what factor should i use to convert growing stock into above ground carbon

any help would be appreciated
