The answer to this specific question is not a simple one, because the difference among the definitions of Seminars, Conferences, Symposiums and Workshops are sometime difficult to highlight.
For example a Seminar can be considered as a formal presentation by one or more experts in which the attendees are encouraged to discuss the subject matter.
On the other hand, a Conference is a large meeting for consultation, exchange of information, or discussion, with a formal agenda. A conference is usually large, possibly taking up many rooms in a hotel or a convention center. It usually takes up several days. It can also describe a single, small meeting but with a duration of several days or weeks.
The Symposium is a meeting at which experts have discussions about a particular subject; it can be considered as a small conference. A symposium is usually used to describe a small conference on a single subject. For example, a series of lectures in a single day might be called a symposium.
Finally a Worksop is a meeting at which a group of people engage in intensive discussion and practical activity on a particular subject or project.

A conference is essentially organised around a theme and sub -themes. Participants are given opportunities to present research based papers that are open to critical evaluation of attendees.  A seminar is more instructional in nature with a clear cut distinction between the "experts" and the participants who are attending to gain knowledge or specific skills.

Dear friends colleagues, have you ever received an invitation to publish your work at InTech Open Science (https://www.intechopen.com/)? I have recently been invited to edit a new book title for them. I am usually suspicious with such invitations and must check the authenticity of the publisher first. Interestingly, they claim that they have published the work for two recent Nobel Laureates. Therefore, I would appreciate your experience and opinions regarding InTech Open Science.
Kind regards,
