Has anybody recently worked on the art history of the Soviet Era?
Communist Art from 1917 until 1992.

I took a class on Russian/Soviet art history as an undergraduate at Berkeley. Art of the Soviet Era and Communist Art are different things. There was a strong stream expressing and supporting political propaganda of the era; there were artworks expressing search and honest believes of the artists; there were streams indifferent to the state ideology; there were experiments and underground art... What exactly or about whom would you like to know?

Thank you Olga, I am interested to document both aspects of the Art both open and underground and also to work on the communist trends in art.I am giving this topic as an M Phil research to one of my student.I am also looking for the book Marxist approach to Art.........thanks again and keep intouch.
