Expert Opinion Required regarding Coloring/Bleaching of WO3 film during Electrochemical measurements?
I am trying to resolve the issue I am facing in coloring and bleaching of WO3 film on ITO in Lithium electrolyte. As seen in the picture coloring is uniform but when it comes to bleaching not all the portion of the film is bleached during Electrochemical measurements. I am using 360nm WO3 deposited by reactive DC magnetron sputtering. Before this I have tried different thicknesses from 100 to 500nm but have faced the same problem.
Thanks in advance

What are the possible parameters that can be varied during deposition of NiFe by RF Magnetron Sputtering?
- Pinki ..
I am trying to deposit NiFe using RF magnetron sputtering. But the film deposited on the substrate has rainbow colors (deposition time 1 hr.) not the silver which should be. For small deposition duration, there is no significant deposition on the substrate. The deposition parameters are- Power- 200 W, High vacuum- order of 10^6 mbar. Working pressure- order of 10^-3 mbar.
The plasma forms looks pinkish near the surface of target and bluesish above. Please suggest what should I change/consider while depostion.
What are the changes in the plasma during co-sputtering?
- Balasubramanian Sundarapandian
I am currently working on optimization of TiNi thin film deposition using magnetron sputtering. I was able to obtain a free standing film using a single target with the following parameters.
Ar flow: 15SCCM
Pressure: 0.5 mbar
Stand off distance: 100mm
While co-sputtering, I used 150W for two targets keeping other parameters same but I was not able to obtain a free standing film. The film curled up and broke. It will be really helpful if someone can explain me the changes that will happen to the plasma while co-sputtering.
How does social semiotics affect films and their hidden meanings?
- Natalia Rosinska
how does culture help shape peoples understanding of various signs and symbols in a film? for example in western culture the colour red can be seen as a colour of warning whereas apparently in china it is a colour of luck. how does culture affect this, and how is this applied in films, animations etc?
What will be the future of colors as features in machine learning?
- Reynolds León Guerra
Colors are weak features from computer vision. But, the colors are widely used in video-surveillance and search of objects. However, currently there are pieces of clothing and vehicles that change color automatically or manually, for example, cars. What will be the future of colors as features in machine learning?
Why does LPCVD result in more uniform deposition of thin films?
- Seohong Park
I understand that LPCVD process is surface-reaction limited due to the high diffusivity of the gas, but why does this help with depositing more uniform film?
How to calculate the wavelength of light from incident and observation angles?
- Amal Alruwaili
I'm trying to get the light wavelength of colored films The light source and camera are kept in a stable position, while the film was rotated at different angles. The light source is placed perpendicular to the film, and the camera has some knowing distances from the light point and the film.
Accordingly, when the blue color is formed, I measured the observation angles and then plug them into the Bragg equation:
mλ = d (sin θ incident- sin θ observation)
where m=1, since I work with the top layer, and d, is the distance between particles and I got it from SEM images. The issue here is the result is so different from the blue wavelength value range (450 to 495 nm).
My question is how to determine the incident and observation angles? Also, in my case is it ok to use the above equation, or the distances between the light point and observation must be considered?
Is rf-power available for rotary cylindrical target of magnetron sputter ?
- Sun Harry
As we know that RF power have demonstrate its great advantage on film properties with magnetron sputter. But, this technique had been applied only to planar targets.
Known advantages of rotary cylindrical target compared to planar targets,so it's attractive to expand the use of RF power to rotary cylindrical target . But I haven't seen any equipment combinations like that, neither any research literatures on that. I want to know why? what will happen if i deposit thin films (such as ITO film) with RF power rotaty cylindrical target?
In order to be more effective, the thickness of the GexC1-x film on dome used in aerospace vehicle should be uniform. The uniformity in thickness can be simulated by computer. Several possible simulation models were introduced and the best model was selected. Selected simulation results show that the method is very effective.
Of crucial importance to the thin film process engineer is an understanding of the parameters which affect the film thickness distributions which may be obtained from magnetron sources. This paper describes how variations in source design, target erosion and source-to-substrate distance affect observed uniformities from a magnetron source. A simple...
To grow uniform films on a large substrate by magnetron sputtering with a small target, a new theoretical model has been proposed, implemented and confirmed. The model was based on a magnetron sputtering system containing a rotation substrate holder and a step-moving target. There were two critical parameters, namely the target stay time and the ta...
