Preferably, take a cup of warm water in the morning, to stimulate the movement of the intestine, as hot water helps to relax the blood vessels and the digestive tract and thus stimulate digestion. Taking a cup of lukewarm water keeps the body balanced and promotes the body's persistence by applying all its functions. The stability of the human body temperature at about 37 ° C during most of the day is beneficial to chemical reactions in the body that rely on enzymes called enzymes Which is about 37 degrees Celsius. Other organisms have different temperatures than humans, since the enzymes and chemical reactions inside their bodies work with different heat. Protecting warm water from hardening of fatty substances in the body stimulates digestion. The baby is advised not to drink too much warm water during food because it increases the amount of acids in the stomach. Drinking cold or iced water helps to lose weight more effectively than hot water. This is because the body adjusts its temperature immediately after it receives any fluids or nutrients, leading to a higher calorie burning rate, greater excretion of sweat, More water for fluid recovery. Drinking hot water on a hot day relieves the body of toxins due to increased sweating, leading to the release of toxins out of the body and purification of the bloodstream. After physical exertion you should drink cold water because it helps to cool the body more effectively than warm water. It is preferable to take cold water to clean the urinary tract and expel the infections, and can be added to the lemon in the form of boiled pieces or natural juice, which can help to reduce these infections.

In general, it is recommended that the water temperature should be as close as possible to the room temperature so that the body does not experience any kind of shock. On a hot summer day one may not feel like drinking 30 deg C water and on cold days it is difficult to drink 20 deg C water but this is what Dr. Deepak Chopra recommends.

Two generally healthy populations (China and Japan) drink hot beverages with their meals (hot tea). There has been some anectodal reports indicating a link between drinking cold water and heart attacks. However, most recent reports have indicated that this is not true according to the Texas Heart Institute. https://www.livestrong.com/article/554347-exercise-cold-drinks-heart-attacks/ Basically, I like to drink tepid water in hot weather because it less of a shock to my system. In cold weather, I prefer hot beverages. Cold water restricts the digestive processes while war/hot water is beneficial. After exercise, cold water helps the body to cool down. If you have digestion troubles too often, you should drink warm water.
Drinking warm water is one of things that can help you get rid of impurities in the body. Health experts recommend drinking warm water with a squeeze of lemon. Lemon water stimulates digestion and flushes toxins. When you drink warm water, you are not only staying hydrated but also receiving its cleansing benefits.

There is no dispute about the importance of water to the human body, which consists of about 75% of the water, which is significantly increased during the summer and with high temperature. Many people choose the best temperature for drinking water. Some prefer cold water, while others see lukewarm water as the best for health.
Experts recommend relying on lukewarm water as it is best suited for internal body temperature, even if it is not refreshing with the same degree of cold water. Water is of great importance to detoxifying the body, experts say. According to the German website Fasser Helvet, lukewarm water has more power to detoxify the body than cold water, which the body needs a lot of energy to deal with.

Cold drinks should be forbidden, because they make our organism stupidly (with O benefits) lazy, not managing heat problems as it's gifted for. Second, because it doesn't cut your thirst, at the opposite, it triggers it. In all deserts in the world, people drink hot, because the heat helps to a whole body hydratation. And also, very simple: when you put heat inside, outside seems suddenly not that hot. Cold drinks were invented by people that didn't suffer thirst ever, they were created, not for humanity's relief, but to create addiction and that way sell a lot, very expansive, something that doesn't last longer than 15mn: cold.

The closer the water is to the body temperature the more easily it is absorbed into the system. Whatever the temperature of the water drunk the body has to bring it either up or down to the required 37 deg. C; and in order to do that it needs energy. The first sign of dehydration is not thirst, it is fatigue, and drinking cold water if you are tired saps the body's energy even more. If this is not how you are used to dringnking water then find a paatbale way of making warm water (not too hot more palatable either with lemon or drunk as a warm herbal or fruit infusion.)

This is a question that is included in the famous TCM 10 questions.
In TCM, from the patient's favorite drinking water temperature, we know what's wrong with the patient. The best temperature to drink is about our body temperature. If one likes to drink hot, it means the body is colder than normal, that needs warm water to warm the body up. If one likes to drink cold, it means the body is hotter than normal or at least there is a stomach heat that likes to drink cold and eat more than needs due to the food is digested too quickly in the stomach.
If there is a stomach heat, we needle ST 44 or ST 44 and 45. After that, the patient can reduce appetite and like to drink regular room temperature water. If one likes to drink hot. We increase the stomach activities by needling or plus Moxa the stomach or even the whole body to fix the patient's health issue. After the treatment, patient's appetite increased and health improved.

What is functionalism and what is its relation to psychology and cognitive science?
Question
578 answers
  • H.G. CallawayH.G. Callaway
According to the article on functionalism in the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy, written by Thomas Polger,
Functionalism is a theory about the nature of mental states. According to functionalism, mental states are identified by what they do rather than by what they are made of. This can be understood by thinking about artifacts like mousetraps and keys. In particular, the original motivation for functionalism comes from the helpful comparison of minds with computers. But that is only an analogy. The main arguments for functionalism depend on showing that it is superior to its primary competitors: identity theory and behaviorism. Contrasted with behaviorism, functionalism retains the traditional idea that mental states are internal states of thinking creatures. Contrasted with identity theory, functionalism introduces the idea that mental states are multiply realized.
---pause quotation---
The opening of this article places emphasis on "the helpful comparison of minds with computers." This sort of approach or version of functionalism is often formulated as "Turing machine functionalism," and has been a major focus of the criticism of functionalism, but it is also responsible for a good deal of the contemporary interest--associated as it is with the topic of strong artificial intelligence and computational conceptions of mind and intelligence. However this is an important contrasting conception of functionalism which arose in the early 20th century and in the wake of Darwinism in psychology. This version takes the biological paradigms of intelligence and consciousness as basic and, it may be argued, avoids many of the criticisms directed at strong A.I. Both versions of functionalism tend to benefit from criticisms of "identity theories" and of behaviorism.
The article continues:
Objectors to functionalism generally charge that it classifies too many things as having mental states, or at least more states than psychologists usually accept. The effectiveness of the arguments for and against functionalism depends in part on the particular variety in question, and whether it is a stronger or weaker version of the theory. This article explains the core ideas behind functionalism and surveys the primary arguments for and against functionalism.
In one version or another, functionalism remains the most widely accepted theory of the nature of mental states among contemporary theorists. Nevertheless, in view of the difficulties of working out the details of functionalist theories, some philosophers have been inclined to offer supervenience theories of mental states as alternatives to functionalism.
---End quotation---
See:
Generally, this article is quite useful for discussion of the topic, and it recognizes problems connected with stronger and weaker versions of functionalism. Although Harvard philosopher Hilary Putnam once claimed to have invented functionalism, it was something like "Turing machine functionalism which he proposed (and later rejected), and the psychological theory of functionalism, rooted in William James and his Principles of Psychology, long predated the contemporary versions which are more directly related to the advent of computers and computer technology.

ResearchGate is an international company, whose purpose is to enable scientists across the world to work together openly and collaboratively, regardless of borders or nationality. We have people from over 40 countries on our staff of around 200, and being based in Berlin, we are profoundly aware of the human cost of conflicts, the echoes of which have shaped and scarred our home city. We join with the international community in condemning the actions of the Russian state.
We have been asking ourselves: What can we do?
From today, we will offer free advertising space worth $2.5 million on our network to humanitarian organizations working to respond to the crisis. ResearchGate benefits from over 50 million visitors every month, and we hope this initiative can help raise funds and awareness for those organizations that are having direct impact and need support.
We also want to use our platform to highlight the response from the scientific community. Personally, I have found the messages of support from scientists everywhere to be truly heartfelt, and I would like to highlight some of the community initiatives I’ve seen here:
Additionally, I’m posting here some of the organizations responding to the crisis and actively soliciting donations:

Preprints: opportunity for science, really?

Recently, a fashion developed to post preprints on RG or other web media.
As a reminder preprints are manuscripts, thus submitted research that did not underwent the reviewing process.
This is a way of sharing research faster would say some. Indeed, we are unfortunately living in an accelerating world, and science does not stay alongside the road.
However, I see here some reasons to doubt about the possible benefits of posting preprints:
· The benevolent work of the associated Editors and Reviewers is somewhat non-respected, denigrated. It is already sometimes difficult to find some reviewers, and such lack of consideration may lead to really loose the interest for reviewing.
· Ideas or findings in preprints are spread away from their initial scientific domains. For geology (my domain), this may not be a critical problem. But for the medical domain, and overall nowadays, spreading non-quality checked ideas/concepts/results may have some consequences. If the manuscript is rejected, then only the authors are really aware. But the diffusion of the ideas/concepts/results that are rejected is done. This can lead to serious issues.
· There is a risk of plagiarism-related problems. As illustrated by a case raised in a question here on RG, ideas/concepts/results are shared with a community. The manuscript can be rejected or necessitate significant revisions, and then during this period, others may have time to re-bake the ideas/concepts/results of the initial preprint and publish them faster somewhere else. A game of “table tennis prosecution for plagiarism” may then start.
Meetings, conferences are the places to introduce some advances, some “half-baked” ideas (as would have said R. Bathurst), and they should continue to play this role. I think we should let the peer-review process to do its job, but I may be wrong.
Ideas, comments, all welcome!

In this preprint (Schwarz, 2021) they indicate that the use of masks has a number of negative effects on children and adolescents, although they were unable to distinguish between the use of masks and the psychological and traumatic disruption caused directly by living through a pandemic with all its consequences.
"53% of children suffer from headaches.
49% of children are less cheerful.
44% of children no longer want to go to school.
38% of children suffer from learning problems.
25% of children develop new fears.
15% of children play less".
In any case, although I do not like to use preprints, it is useful for me to reflect on the impact that the pandemic may have on children. I have two daughters and I am beginning to observe symptoms of stress, anguish and sadness, with occasional moments of crying for no apparent reason. It is not the scope of my research, but I am concerned about this.
How do you think this will end?
NOTES FOR CONSPIRANOIDS:
As I mentioned in my discussion, talking about this preprint "...they were unable to distinguish between the use of masks and the psychological and traumatic disruption caused directly by living through a pandemic with all its consequences.". Face masks are very important to fight against flu and SARS-CoV2. The incidence of flu this year is very low due to the use of face masks, and it's important to wear masks to avoid COVID disease and the collapse of the hospitals.
Cherry-picking, suppressing evidence, or the fallacy of incomplete evidence is the act of pointing to individual cases or data that seem to confirm a particular position while ignoring a significant portion of related and similar cases or data that may contradict that position. In this case, many COVID negationists are using papers like this one to attribute that masks are bad, and this is absolutely CHERRY-PICKING, especially when in the paper's conclusions it states the following:
"It is very important to us that our results do not lead to parents developing a fundamentally negative opinion of mask-wearing among children. Many children and adolescents are grateful that they can continue to attend school thanks to the AHA+L rules and would like adults to have a positive opinion about the masks, especially since the type of mask worn can usually be chosen. Furthermore, there are children for whom the mask may be a necessary aid, for example, if they are immunosuppressed after chemotherapy. Unreflective negative statements about the mask can cause a nocebo effect and unnecessarily stress children: it is better to listen and take it seriously when problems arise. "
