Doesn't science need too many plant models?

Is it ok to model the plant in its two seperate operating modes, as follows?

Pumping mode:

The plant operation will be modelled with the use of an induction motor.

Generating mode:

In this mode the plant will be modelled as a hydro power plant.

I am going to measure flow using ultrasound.

I have created a Simulink model of PID controlled Bouc Wen MR damper semi active suspension. The feedback signal to PID is taken as sprung mass displacement and reference value is set to '0' (zero). The output of PID control is to be voltage signal for MR damper.

While trying to auto tune the PID controller, I am getting the error:

Linearization aborted because the linear plant model seen by the PID block is effectively '0'.

Ensure the PID loop is physically closed and none of the block in the PID loop returns '0' when linearized at time t = 0.

I have used saturation block after PID with upper limit 5 and lower 0. (as MR damper max input voltage is 5 volts and min is 0).

I am working on toycar steering control using PID controller.I am developing Firmware on mbed platform using c++. I am using Gyroscope as sensor for my feedback for angle reading.

Please give me suggestions for How can I model my steering control or How can it be realized without using plant model?  I was thinking to take all this reading data and get my error value by taking difference with desired angle,but how to realize this readings in Matlab or any other platform and use my PID. 

Hi. I am having challenge with optimizing a TRMS, which is a 2-input 2-output MIMO system, using the NN predictive controller. I used the TRMS_pitch model as the plant subsystem block in NN predictive controller simulink model. I used the "create bus on the inputs and outputs of the TRMS subsystem to have 1 inport and 1 outport from the buses which are used to connect to the NN predictive controller simulink model. Whenever i tried to simulate/run the system, it gives me an "invalid setting in block '.....' for parameter 'value'" error. And when i try to Generate Training Data on the NN predictive controller, it comes with an error "The Simulate plant model must have one Inport and one Outport". I am really stock here. Can anyone help pls. Thanks. Is the design a realizable one? Thanks and Cheers

Dear all, i am working on matlab simulation and i need biomass plant model into it so rather than i using direct programmable source can i used this by other ways?

What kind of statistical measurement works with Radiation human model to calibrate it ?

I am doing a systematic review with in vitro and in vivo (animals and human models) studies about different treatments to improve bone remodelling.

I used to use, to describe the methodological quality of the selected articles, the PEDro scale and the guidelines of the Dutch Institute for Healthcare Improvement (CBO). PEDro scale assesses the risk of bias of RCTs to provide a global overview of internal validity of the studies. But this does not rate the external validity. For this reason it is necessary to determining the level of Evidence using the Dutch CBO Guidelines.

But, my questions is...these scales and guidelines, could be used in vitro studies too?or what other scales or guidelines should I use?

Various gels are transparent enough, but most of them don't allow to change the nutritive solutions. The changing of solutions is of great importance, if we want to investigate plant and microbiota excretions periodically by non-invasive methods - this just one of example. Ideally, the substrate must have no sorptive capacity (like sand) and simultaneously have good transparency (like agar gel). This would provide not only the real-time investigation of the exudates, but also the possibility to make the video records of root grows and development, particularly under insertion of osmotically active substances or toxins in the nutritive solution. I mean the adding of these substances not at the very beginning of experiment, but when plants will reach certain age. There are also cases, when a researcher want to simulate nutrient deprivation since the certain stage of plant development.
