Can anyone recommend a book on scale construction (in social sciences)?

Hi everyone,
I am looking for book recommendations on how to construct a scale, preferably with a focus on (and examples from) social sciences. Any suggestions?

DeVellis RF. Scale Development: Theory and Application. Los Angeles, CA: Sage Publications (2012).

and the fifth edition of DeVellis (now with Thorpe) came out last year. It is a short book but with a lot of useful information. I think more advanced books are often tailored for specific areas, like ability scales in education, personality scales in psychology.

Dear Experts,
Can we use the chi-square test (which is non-parametric) on normally distributed data?
