Punta San Juan Program
Institution: Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia
About the lab
We are a marine-coastal field research program based in the protected area of Punta San Juan - RNSIIPG, located in Ica province on the southern coast of Peru (Lat 15 ° 22'S, 75 ° 11 'W). The Punta San Juan Program is part of the Center for Environmental Sustainability (CSA) at Cayetano Heredia University. We believe that Punta San Juan is an important site for coastal marine biodiversity that must be protected. We work in collaboration with Peruvian government institutions for more than 30 years to fulfill our main objective: to produce scientific knowledge for the development of tools that will help in the conservation and management of an ecologically viable marine protected area.
