It is the first articulation of the problem of forming a fund of educational literature as a theoretical and methodological basis for a successful educational process for students majoring in 029 “Information, Library, and Archival Studies” based on the example of Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts (hereinafter KNUCA). By applying general scientific (analysis, synthesis, generalization) and special research methods (bibliographic, statistical, visual analysis), analysis and systematization of the entire literature presented in the teaching materials of the teaching staff of KNUCA on educational programmes in the programme subject area 029 “Information, Library and Archival Studies” the main trends in the formation of the fund of educational literature KNUCA for students of 029 “Information, Library and Archival Studies” have been identified, including compliance of educational literature for higher education to the current legal field, impact of the reform of domestic higher education in accordance with the principles of the Bologna process on structure and content of educational literature; reflection of the process of reforming library education in educational literature – the intensity of educational literature preparation is correlated with the implementation of a new programme subject area 029 “Information, Library and Archival Studies”; active usage along with educational publications in the educational process scientific monographs, scientific articles, reference books (though, these types of publications have not been classified as educational publications officially, they start to perform educational function); availability of publications which names are identical to the names of academic disciplines, which is due to the need for educational and methodological support of new academic disciplines; preparation of educational literature by author’s teams formed, in particular, by teachers of various educational institutions; cooperation with various publishers, which provides the required number of publications for the educational process and their availability to the general public. Five functional levels of complex educational and methodical support of the educational process and formation of the fund of educational literature are substantiated: the level of the institution of higher education; the level of the scientific library of the institution of higher education; department level; level of authors; level of publishers / producers of educational literature.
The purpose of the article is to substantiate the theoretical and methodological foundations of educational innovation which is educational and professional program «Management of social and communication networks. Digital marketing», specialty 029 «Information, Library and Archival Affairs». The research methodology is based on a set of general scientific methods of generalization, systematization and forecasting. Hypothetical analysis made it possible to develop to identify the basic concepts that outline the theoretical and methodological platform for training Digital marketers in the specialty «Information, Library and Archival Affairs». The scientific noveltyof the study is that in the dynamics of professional diversity of information activities and proposals for new specializations within the specialty «Information, Library and Archival Affairs» outlines the main approaches to the theoretical and methodological platform for Digital marketers and identifies basic concepts that allow building a professional model of Digital marketer in the specialty 029 «Information, Library and Archival Affairs». Such concepts define social and information communications and management of document and information resources (information management). Conclusions. The main concepts of the theoretical and methodological platform of educational innovation for the training of Digital marketers in the specialty «Information, Library and Archival Affairs» are social and communication technologies and management of document and information resources (information management). Tasks of marketing activities of a specialist in social information communications in the specialty 029 «Information, Library and Archival Affairs» are in the problem field of social communication activities, include marketing in the field of nonprofit organizations, government, charities, libraries, archives, museums, etc. The theoretical content of the subject area of Internet marketing is consistent with the Standard of Higher Education in «Information, Library and Archival Affairs» and corresponds to the conceptual foundations of the subject area of management of document and information resources (information management). The proposed version of the theoretical and methodological platform of educational innovation – training of Digital marketers in the specialty «Information, Library and Archival Affairs» – is able to enrich, modify and refine in the development of scientific knowledge and empirical base in this subject area.
The article is devoted to the modernization of approaches to the definition of the quality of higher education graduates training in the specialty 029 "Information, Library and Archive Studies" on the basis of the use of Dublin descriptors as innovative criteria for the effectiveness of acquiring certain degrees in higher education. The efficiency of extrapolation of the Dublin descriptors on the results of the training of higher education students is substantiated to ensure that the emphasis is transferred from the accumulation of knowledge, skills and abilities to effectively use them to solve professional problems.
On the basis of the comparative analysis, it was proved that the results of the first (bachelor), second (master's) and third (doctor of philosophy) levels of higher education on specialty 029 "Information, Library and Archive Studies", reflected in the descriptors of the National Qualifications Framework, which were developed on the basis of the Dublin Descriptors, provide principles continuity and compliance with the European requirements for the training of information professionals. The task of developing a new generation of industry standards for the first (bachelor), second (master) and the third (doctor of philosophy) of higher education levels from the specialty 029 "Information, Library and Archive Studies" is emphasized.
It is substantiated that the orientation of educational program developers and curricula for the gradual preparation of future informational specialists on the content of the criteria for assessing the quality of higher education applicants' training is an important condition for their competitiveness in the European labor market.
В умовах пандемії COVID-19 актуалізувалось питання адаптації органів державної влади, організацій, інституцій, окремих громадян до життя в умовах карантину і соціального дистанціювання. Організація діяльності ВГО «Українська бібліотечна асоціація» як лідера бібліотечної справи мала стати прикладом ефективної відповіді на виклики сьогодення, пов’язані з поширенням коронавірусної інфекції. Пропонована наукова розвідка присвячена визначенню рівня активності ВГО «Українська бібліотечна асоціація» в умовах карантину порівняно з докарантинним періодом, ключових напрямів діяльності організації, обґрунтуванню її здатності оперативно адаптуватися до умов соціального дистанціювання, зберігаючи статус лідера.
Основним джерелом для аналізу став новинний потік офіційного веб-порталу ВГО «Українська бібліотечна асоціація» за період із березня по листопад (включно) 2020 р., а також за відповідний період 2019 р.
На основі застосування методів кількісного і якісного аналізу контенту, статистичного, включеного спостереження, методу візуалізації для унаочнення результатів дослідження було виявлено, що активність ВГО «Українська бібліотечна асоціація» в умовах соціального дистанціювання залишилася на попередньому рівні, що свідчить про те, що вона ефективно адаптувалася до нових умов карантинних обмежень. При цьому найбільш виразними стали напрями, які умовно можна визначити як освітній, проєктний, «пандемія COVID-19», культурний та інноваційний. Здобутками асоціації стало підписання меморандумів про співпрацю з ДУ «Центр громадського здоров’я Міністерства охорони здоров’я України» і Благодійним фондом «Бібліотечна країна» щодо промоції здорового способу життя та свідомого ставлення до здоров’я через бібліотечну мережу України та з Міністерством цифрової трансформації України, Комітетом Верховної Ради України з питань цифрової трансформації та Інтернет Асоціацією України щодо творення осередків цифрової грамотності на базі публічних бібліотек у різних регіонах України.
У статті йдеться про бібліотеки та читальні Комітетів піклування про народну тверезість. в історії бібліотечної справи України ця проблематика досліджується, але потребує продовження як на всеукраїнському, так і на регіональному рівні. Метою статті є висвітлення та обґрунтування бібліотечної діяльності Комітетів на території Харківської губернії на зламі ХІХ–ХХ ст. Такий аспект дослідження автор запропонував уперше. Висновки дослідження побудовані на використанні системно-історичного підходу, історичного методу, аналізі документів, опублікованих у виданнях кінця ХІХ – початку ХХ ст., які становлять його джерельну базу. Автор робить висновки про те, що бібліотеки Комітетів слід вважати особливим типом народних книгозбірень, завданням яких була антиалкогольна пропаганда.
Розвиток ринкових відносин, конкуренція за інвестиції в науку, освіту і культуру, загострення соціальних та екологічних проблем вимагає швидкого реагування на зовнішні та внутрішні зміни. Одним із дієвих інструментів такого реагування є методи стратегічного управління, які абсолютно спроможні застосовувати бібліотеки різних типів. Результати впровадження бізнес-процесів стратегічного управління в бібліотечну діяльність мають цілком практичну і вимірювальну користь, вони призводять до поліпшення якості та ефективності бібліотечних продуктів і послуг. Їх поширення, обмін досвідом та подальший розвиток потребує діалогу фахівців, що успішно реалізовується в межах тематичних науково-практичних заходів. Одним із таких став міжнародний науково-практичний семінар «Стратегії розвитку бібліотек: від ідеї до втілення», ініційований у 2017 р. Науково-технічною бібліотекою ім. Г. І. Денисенка Національного технічного університету України «Київський політехнічний інститут імені Ігоря Сікорського» та ВГО Українська бібліотечна асоціація. Подія зібрала понад 100 учасників із Німеччини, Польщі, Казахстану, Білорусі та України і мала великий резонанс у ЗМІ.
Метою дослідження є висвітлення досвіду імплементації Цілей сталого розвитку ООН до 2030 року в процес підготовки і підвищення кваліфікації фахівців інформаційної сфери. У статті проаналізовано теоретичні підходи до вивчення концепції освіти для сталого розвитку, досвід системного впровадження освіти у галузі сталого розвитку в університетах України, проєктної діяльності у сфері освіти для сталого розвитку в системі формальної та неформальної освіти. Зроблено акцент на основних проєктах, що реалізуються Українською бібліотечною асоціацією для підвищення спроможності бібліотек у сприянні досягненню Цілей сталого розвитку ООН до 2030 року.
Методологія дослідження базується на використанні соціокомунікаційного і системного підходів, методів джерелознавчого та контент-аналізу.
Наукова новизна дослідження полягає у залученні спостережень і результатів, отриманих під час викладання автором дисципліни «Стратегічний менеджмент інформаційної діяльності» в Київському університеті імені Бориса Грінченка у магістрів спеціальностей «Інформаційна, бібліотечна та архівна справа» і «Журналістика», освітня програма «Реклама і зв’язки з громадськістю».
Зроблено висновки щодо багатовекторності та багаторівневості процесу впровадження освіти у галузі сталого розвитку, до якого активно долучені заклади вищої освіти України. Зазначено, що презентований досвід імплементації ЦСР ОOН до 2030 року в освітній процес на різних освітньо-кваліфікаційних рівнях може використовуватися у подальшому у закладах вищої освіти, що готують майбутніх фахівців з інформаційної, бібліотечної та архівної справи.
Перспективним напрямком продовження дослідження визначено вивчення досвіду проєктної діяльності у сфері освіти для сталого розвитку, зокрема діяльності центрів освіти дорослих, які долучаються до імплементації ЦСР ООН до 2030 року на рівні регіонального розвитку місцевих громад.
The article deals with the principles of adherence to the standards of academic integrity and ways of avoiding misconduct manipulation with research data in the process of Research Data Management (RDM) on the example of world universities and organizations with experience in implementing high-quality RDM.In this article was used the author’s experience gained during participating in Erasmus Plus Staff Mobility for Training Program agreed between the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and The University of Glasgow (Scotland, the UK). In particular, was regarded as the UK approach to providing Research Data Management (RDM) in the University Library on the example of University of Glasgow Institutional repository which is named “Enlighten” and is base on the EPrints platform. The connection between the image of the institution and its research activity can be checked by means of monitoring the research data, so that is why the University of Glasgow pays considerable attention to the exactness and accuratness of the RDM. In this material were mentioned several schemes of research data lifecycle and what can happen to it in case of research misconduct. The most widespread terms concerning research misconduct were regarded in this article, namely: falsification, fabrication, and plagiarism. With this purpose, several online reference websites and dictionaries were analyzed. Open Science Framework (OSF) was described briefly as one of the proposed instruments for the researchers who need to deposit their research data. This tool also was defined as an additional bibliographic instrument as it can generate citations for data packages thus providing transparent data reuse without breach norms and regulations of Academic Integrity. The importance of Academic Integrity in connection to the Research Data Management and Research Data Lifecycle is underlined as a crucial element in the whole research process. Six fundamental values of Academic Integrity were named and mentioned as basic points at which every researcher must orient in their work.
The article analyzes the interdependence between the formation of students’ information competence and the enhancement of the culture of academic integrity in the educational environment. It is important to form students’ information competence not only for education but also for professional formation, self-improvement and solving of life problems in the personal sphere has been actualized. The changeability and dynamism of the information technology world, the rigorous demands of the labor market and the expectations of employers dictate the need to master by future specialists with universal knowledge, skills, personal qualities, such as professional mobility, adaptability, ability to quickly acquire new knowledge, certain orientation in the web environment and information space, which implies complex formation of information competence. The consequences of underestimating the formation of students’ information culture at the national level (for education and scientific communication in particular, and for the successful formation of the information society in general) are emphasized. The need to introduce an information culture integrated with the basics of academic writing into educational process as a compulsory discipline is underlined. The factors of promoting the formation of a moral educational environment and the rooting in it of the basic values of academic integrity are analyzed. The necessity of shifting the emphasis from the fight against plagiarism in student works to developing measures to prevent this phenomenon and enhance the information and academic culture of students is substantiated. The role and opportunities of the higher education institution’s library in creating an information space in which adherence to standards of academic integrity is undeniable value are shown. The newest interactive forms of library work and ways of presenting educational content taking into account the features of “clip-thinking” of the modern generation, such as gamification, simulation and interactive games, web quests, video lectures and more are considered.
The strategy for development and modernization of the education system in Ukraine results in researching the subject of formation the effective infrastructure that is good at facilitating the work of higher education institutions. In this context, researching the system of academic libraries of economically developed countries, one of them is China, gives new impetus to the development and enrichment the background of libraries functioning in educational space.
The article deals with the presenting the peculiar features of formation the system of libraries of higher education institutions in the People’s Republic of China and researching the ways of their functioning in digital space. The main stages in the development of universities in China and creating their information infrastructure have been analyzed. The work of the best academic libraries according to "Project 211" and "Project 985" is in focus.
It has been stated that the system of academic libraries in China is currently on the stage of powerful modernization of technical, technological and service areas. The criteria for its effectiveness have been determined. Objectives and directions of the development of the libraries of higher education institutions’ work process have been analyzed. The comparative characteristics of the ratio of financial cost indices for printed and electronic resources by the leading academic libraries of the People’s Republic of China have been presented.
The government decisive influence on formation and support the digital information development and education space in China has been stated. The directions of innovative development of the system of academic libraries of the People’s Republic of China have been outlined. Among them are: formation of a comfortable information environment; active design and construction of new premises equipped with the latest technology and specialized software; communication establishment; formation of educational resources system in the area of creating digital assets of educational and scientific content; effective information development service and information support of research work.
Open Access to scientific information, transparency of research processes and data is one of the most important conditions for the progress of science and scientific communication, the basis of international collaboration of researchers globally. The COVID-19 global pandemic has once again highlighted the need for open, efficient and equal access to scientific information for researchers, regardless of geographical, gender or any other constraints, promoting the exchange of scientific knowledge and data, scientific cooperation and scientific decision-making, knowledge and open data. The Internet has radically changed scientific communication, particularly on the model of peer-reviewed scientific journals and the way readers find and access the scientific information. Digital access is now the norm, thanks to the Open Access model. Although 20 years have passed since the announcement of the Budapest Open Access Initiative, and despite many achievements and advantages, there are still obstacles to the implementation of this model, there is some resistance from commercial publishers and other providers, and discussions continue in the academia world. The Open Access model is already supported by various strategies, policies, platforms, applications but is not yet established. Various business models for scientific journals are still being tested, a culture of preprints is being formed, and discussions are underway on the ethics of scientific publications, intellectual property, the need to finance the dissemination of research results, and so on. Various platforms and applications are being developed to help researchers “discover” research results. Nevertheless, this is not enough: it is important to “discover” not only the results but also the research data, allowing them be used for further research in the global world. Thus, the concepts and practices of Open Science, Open Data, development of research infrastructures, etc., are developing quite rapidly. The article considers the main stages of this 20-year path and outlines the main components and trends of the current stage. Emphasis is placed on the need to form a culture of Open Science and create incentives for its implementation, promoting innovative methods of Open Science at different stages of the scientific process, the needs of European integration of Ukrainian e-infrastructure development, the need for socio-cultural and technological change. The main international and domestic practices and projects in Open Access and Open Science, particularly the National Repository of Academic Texts and the National Plan of Open Science draft, are considered. The role of libraries and librarians in implementing the principles of Open Access and Open Science is emphasized.
Nowadays, library institutions in Ukraine are experiencing a crisis due to a complex of technical, technological, service, methodical, financial, organizational and managerial reasons. One of the ways to overcome the negative tendencies in the development of national libraries and to increase their competitiveness is to introduce Internet marketing as a systematic approach to promoting library products and services into library activities.
The article is devoted to defining the specific features of libraries’ of Ukraine Internet marketing. Internet marketing is considered as a set of institution’ tools and activities, ranging from the study of the environment (market and market actors in the Internet) and ending with the promotion of Internet brands and the establishment of their service.
Based on the application of the system method, which led to the consideration of certain types of library activities, products and services from the point of view of Internet marketing as a system, methods of content analysis, included monitoring, the experiment, the approaches to the implementation of Internet marketing in the activities of libraries of Ukraine have been characterized.
There has been revealed the use of only some of the tools of Internet marketing within the framework of realization of certain directions of marketing activity by libraries of Ukraine. The main online marketing communications used by Ukrainian libraries today are library sites, libraries’ representations on social networks, to a lesser extent, online and traditional media. Libraries conduct campaigns for re-branding, updating the image of institutions, informing users about the modernization of the library information service - providing along with traditional for the libraries products and services the access to online service and innovative interactive events, using the media.
The need to strengthen the analytical and managerial directions of Internet marketing in the library activity is emphasized, namely, to increase the attention to competitor and market research, the effectiveness of functioning of different tools of Internet marketing and implementation of its different directions, as well as the need to develop a well-balanced marketing strategy in the Internet environment and organization its internal marketing processes.
The purpose of the article is to reveal the essence of the information and analytical component of the activities of diplomatic institutions. The research methodology is based on a set of general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, generalisation and systematisation, which made it possible to achieve the goal of the article. The scientific novelty of the findings consists in focusing on the areas of information and analytical activities of diplomatic institutions: collecting and analysing information in the interests of the foreign and domestic policy of the state, which will guarantee it a worthy position in the international arena; providing information support for the country’s foreign and domestic policy. It is noted that a significant increase in the volume of information, in its content diversity, and a large-scale spread of advanced technologies that allow not only transmitting information over vast distances but also quickly processing large amounts of data, require diplomatic institutions to give special treatment to the forms and methods of information and analytical activities. The matter concerns the need to acquire skills in working with information and communication technologies, along with the use of traditional channels for receiving and transmitting information, as well as direct human communication. Each of these channels for obtaining information has its characteristics, which, in turn, highlights the need to choose the optimal possible number of different sources of information, taking into account the essence and nature of the tasks undertaken by a diplomatic institution. Providing the state leadership with high-quality analytical materials requires their compliance with such characteristics as objectivity, reliability, completeness, etc., while proposals and recommendations made by a diplomatic institution should contain a forecast of the further development of the event or situation in the host country and worldwide.
The article deals with the crucial importance of information and communication technologies in improving the expert support of the activities of state authorities. Within the theories of a socially oriented state, modern state management is focused on customer service, which requires new approaches in the activities of the central administrative offices in providing a wide range of management services. In the context of this, along with the problem of analytical processing of the mass volume of information, there is a need for geopolitical, social and economic monitoring that supports decision-making processes on complex problems in various spheres of society's activity. It is considered for expedient to use the e-government technological services for improving the information-analytical processing of structured data in the field of state administration.
It is determined that the use of electronic services of the multi-channel e-government system expands the boundaries of public interactive participation in the process of making managerial decisions and promotes socio-productive use of the results of information-analytical monitoring.
Accordingly, the creation and operation of information and analytical systems of government as integrated corporate systems should be based on the proven solutions and information and telecommunication platforms.
The article examines the experience of introducing gamification in the activities of the Scientific Library of Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts A review of the annual Top Tools for Learning 2019 checklist outlines four key areas of research in higher education highlighted by J. Hart. The process of gamification is considered as one that helps to support the students’ attention, learn the learning material faster, promotes the critical thinking development. Experience of using Kahoot! digital tool to test students’ knowledge of the Philosophy course using the online quiz is highlighted. The creation of a quiz layout, parameter settings, testing and conducting the game were provided by library staff. The quiz “Do you know philosophy?” consisted of 17 questions. Fifteen of them were of the test type, two were “true or false”. 44 second-year students participated in the game at the same time. The winner correctly answered 13 questions, scoring 13 339 points. The average score was 6779 points. Kahoot! efficiency as a learning tool was analyzed on the basis of the results of 44 participants. Overall game performance was 42 %. Most likely, students answered questions like “true or false.” The time to answer the test questions ranged from 2.3 seconds to 10.7 seconds. 100 % of those polled said that playing questions helped them gain new knowledge; this type of training is eligible for existence and should be recommended for use in the educational process in the future. Information technologies have been found to offer ample opportunity to interpret their role as educational tools. The application of gamification allows for the formation of a comfortable learning environment for young people, increases the motivation to master the material independently. The quiz “Do you know philosophy?” is an example of a multidisciplinary approach to studying at the university and implementation of the principles of professionally oriented teaching of the humanities.
The aim of the article is to highlight the main trends in the development and implementation of information and communication technology in the library service system of the world’s leading countries. The research methodology is based on the integrated use of general scientific and structural-functional methods. To clarify the evolution of information and communication strategies in library practice, there is a social communication approach, special historical methods. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the comprehensive generalisation of new information and library services used in multiple countries. Conclusions. Among the priority tasks of foreign libraries, there is the creation of their e-products, development of search information strategies, solving problems of digitisation of documents, and introduction of innovative means of information. Leadership in the development of communication technologies belongs to US libraries, which in the 1970s implemented the first projects to inform the library process, digitise holdings and create e-libraries. Among European countries, information and communication technology is being intensively implemented in libraries of Germany, Sweden and Denmark. The concept of the machinery of information flows has developed rapidly in the East, especially in libraries in China, Japan and Korea. Ukraine is actively using international electronic databases to build its strategy for library informatisation. At this stage, the task is to create integrated global information resources based on corporate activities of libraries for the accumulation, storage and dissemination of information flows, and development of effective search engines and information services for users.
On 17-18 November, the Ukrainian Library Association (ULA) held a wrap-up electing conference on the UBA Development Strategy implementation for 2019-2021, a ULA award official ceremony, and the presidential, the Expert Board and the Association Control Commission votes for the next three years. A new visual identity and logo for the Ukrainian Library Association appeared during the Conference. The Conference on Ukrainian Library Association: Adjusting to the Next Normal Ecosystem was designed to reflect the complexity of the war, widespread pandemic, economic and managerial instability under which the Association had to build its work, and its commitment to be a mover achieving goals in the development of social ecosystems, the ULA's vision of its position in the system of social and professional ties, flows and focuses.
Актуальність проведеного дослідження обумовлена необхідністю оптимізації змісту базових термінів наук про документаційну та інформаційну забезпечувальну діяльність –ДІЗД (документознавства, бібліотекознавства, наукової інформатики та ін.), встановленням та повноцінним розкриттям сутності її одиниць, процесів і сегментів.
На основі застосування методів термінологічного аналізу, експлікації, системного, структурно-функціонального розглядаються ключові з позицій становлення документології як розвиненої науки питання сутності одиниці документаційної діяльності та поняття і побудови фундаментальної теоретичної системи. Підкреслюється, що наявності розвиненої теорії в документології – загальній інтертеоріі ДІЗД – відповідає вироблення фундаментальної теоретичної схеми. Оскільки в ній питома вага онтологічних знань (знань про сутність об'єкта) велика, то методологічна стратегія побудови теорії і систематизації знань в документології передбачає слідування ґрунтовно розробленому концепту сутності об'єкта.
Обґрунтовується, що бінарна сутність одиниці ДІЗД, яка відповідає «широкому» трактуванню документа, з урахуванням соціального аспекту її функціонування – соціального статусу і прагматичних властивостей – логічно має бути доповнена функціонально-статусною сутністю, що забезпечить необхідну відповідність «вузькому» трактуванню документа. Пропонується тринарна сутність одиниці ДІЗД як продукту матеріального і інтелектуального виробництва, який наділений соціальним статусом і виконує комплекс функцій у соціальній діяльності.
Стаття присвячена розкриттю функціонального потенціалу програмного продукту Scribus у вирішенні завдань видавничого процесу – верстання та підготовки видань до друку.
Метою статті є висвітлення особливостей програмного продукту Scribus як одного з найбільш відомих та комфортних у використанні у даному контексті, обґрунтування його переваг порівняно з комерційними аналогами, зокрема фірми Adobe як світового лідера комерційного програмного забезпечення. Для досягнення мети застосовано методи порівняння (у контексті функціоналу програми Scribus та програм-аналогів – Adobe InDesign, який замінив попередні QuarkXPress та Adobe Page Maker), аналізу та синтезу. Використання методу включеного спостереження в рамках викладання автором дисципліни «Дизайн та верстання медіа» протягом більш ніж п’ятирічного періоду роботи в Українській академії друкарства (2014–2020 рр.) дало змогу виявити різні практичні аспекти користування програмою Scribus, визначити вдосконалення її функціоналу, спрямованого на полегшення процесу верстання складних публікацій.
У контексті подальшого поширення нових сучасних технічних засобів та їх адаптації для роботи з програмами верстки підтверджено, що сполучення у Scribus функцій, що містять елементи комп’ютерних графічних програм, обумовлює зручність користування ним як багатофункціональним продуктом.
Доведено успішність застосування Scribus у навчальному процесі, зокрема для майбутніх фахівців видавничої галузі. Зважаючи на доступність програми в українській локалізації, простоту та лаконічність її інтерфейсу та наявність вільної ліцензії, що дозволяє послуговуватись програмою поза процесом навчання у приміщенні закладу вищої освіти, обґрунтовано доцільність використання Scribus для студентів профільних спеціальностей як під час аудиторних занять офлайн, так і під час карантину для виконання завдань у дистанційному режимі.
The aim of the article is to systematise and generalise new knowledge on operational analytics and consider specific automated information systems in terms of the present and prospects for its development. The research methodology was based on the general scientific principles of unity of theory and practice, systematics, complexity, and comprehensiveness of knowledge. The use of general scientific (description, analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalisation) and special (bibliographic, sample observation, grouping, content analysis) methods at the empirical and theoretical levels of research contributed to achieving this goal. The scientific novelty of the study is to generalise and systematise new and available knowledge on operational analytics in terms of present and prospects for its development within one study. Conclusions. The case of the International Business Machines Corporation American electronic corporation (pronounced IBM, also known as IBM or «Blue Giant»), one of the world’s largest manufacturers of all types of computers and software, one of the largest providers of global information networks, the author described and analysed the species diversity and features of the use of automated information and analytical systems based on artificial intelligence, which are available today to many users, and tomorrow will become a daily reality for any company. The information systems and products that IBM now offers to the Ukrainian consumer are briefly described: systems designed for analytics by areas of application; Big Data analysts; data visualisation; policy analytics; data integration systems; advanced analytics products; information systems of advanced analytics based on the Internet of Things; automated systems for forecasting analytics. Attention is focused on the features and benefits of operational analytics and its capabilities in the practical plane of use. The expediency of applying certain automated information systems according to the sphere of activity and stages of information analysis is substantiated. The advantages and prospects of operational (online) analytics development in data analytics are considered.
The article discusses the concept of mobile learning m-learning in the Z-generation environment, which actively evolves into the concept of ubiquitous learning, a continuous self-improvement process using a variety of information devices from a computer to a smartphone or tablet. Proceeding from the orientation of the representatives of the Z generation for self-education and the advantage of "clip" thinking in them, the question of the effective use of modern information technologies for the creation of information-processing forms adapted to their requests is being updated.
The use of mobile information and communication technologies as an effective means of providing access to educational content has been analyzed.
The use of mobile applications of promising and effective means of access to educational resources in the process of self-education is explored in detail. It is proved that the use of mobile applications remains relevant in the process of self-education, as an important factor in obtaining and replenishing knowledge, self-improvement in the professional and nonprofessional spheres. Through the analysis of mobile educational applications, statistics and feedback on their use, the popularity of educational mobile applications that provide access to free online courses by leading scholars, think tanks, and universities in the world has proven to be popular.
The importance of interactivity as a factor of the integrated approach to providing educational process, creation of information products at the intersection of science, art and virtual reality, is introduced, introducing into the educational process of game technologies and technologies of the complementary reality.
The article analyzes the positive foreign experience of implementing augmented reality (AR) library projects. It has been found out that the most common uses of augmented reality in libraries today are providing access to information products with augmented reality and their promotion, navigation of library space and resources, promoting user education through the creation of appropriate applications with learning materials and resources and simplification for the user assimilation of information due to the diversity and interactivity of its visual presentation, informing and providing access to cultural heritage sites, organizing tours and exhibitions. Given that the use of AR in libraries not only expands the range of services and resources but also positively affects its reputation as an interactive creative institution, open to users and innovation, AR technology is effective not only in the library service system but also in the marketing activities of the institution, helping to attract new users. Current approaches to the implementation of library projects using augmented reality technology are highlighted. Their assistance in strengthening corporate culture, inter-institutional ties, and civil society is substantiated. It has been proved that the AR applications created as a result of project implementation operate on the principle of integrated information products, which allow the user to access distributed information from one access point via mobile phone, integrating not only information of the virtual space of the Internet environment but also real, physical, space. The advantages of AR implementation in the library have been determined, among which: budget realization, easy integration with available technologies, and promotion of interactivity of library service. The need for professional development of librarians and the organization of training courses on the use of immersive technologies in library activities is emphasized.
The aim of the article is to identify the Internet marketing specialist’s job functions and competencies in convergent professional practices, which are generalised and standardised in the Professional Standards of Related Activities. Such methods define the research methodology as information analysis of current Professional Standards, relevant to the activities of Internet marketing specialist; semantic analysis of the programme subject area, and semantic, logical and linguistic analysis of documents (e.g. educational and professional standards, training curriculum, professional scientific publications, Internet content); the pedagogical design is to integrate disciplines to the Internet marketing specialist educational and professional training curriculum. The scientific novelty of the study is in identifying functions and competencies of Internet marketing specialist in the programme subject area “Information, Library and Archival Studies”, in related professional activities, presented in the Professional Standards of Information Resources Specialist, Commodity Market Research Analyst and Advertiser; in implementing professionally-oriented disciplines, which form an educational model of training an Internet marketing specialist in the interaction and relationship of all its components together with other fields of professional and practical training. Conclusions. The uniqueness of the content of the “Management of Social and Communication Networks. Internet Marketing» curriculum within Information, Library and Archival Studies is determined by its subject orientation on digital means of work, convergence with curriculum in marketing and belonging to the subject field of information management, information-analytical and social-communicative activities following the theoretical content of the subject according to the standard of programme subject area 029 «Information, Library and Archival Studies». A comprehensive review of the functions of Internet marketing specialist in marketing and information-analytical professional practices and the use of social and communicative technology to position social actors in society (public relations, advertising, image-making, etc.) allows a systematic delineation of the competence of the specialist. The analysis of the Professional Standards of the Information Resource Specialist, Commodity Market Research Analyst, and Advertiser, as related to the activities of an Internet marketing specialist, made it possible to outline the competencies that should be included in the future specialist’s model to ensure its validity. The identified competencies allow to specify the educational and professional training curriculum and include generalised disciplines in the campus, which together with other professionally oriented disciplines, form an educational model of Internet marketing specialist training in the interaction and interconnection of all its components.
The maximum use of Internet communication by archival institutions can ensure two-way interaction between the archive and users of its services. In this Internet ecosystem, the archive will have a timely relationship with the society, and through the prism of this relationship, the archival institution will have the opportunity to self-promote, create a new image among the Internet audience and attract potential donors. This effectiveness can be achieved through its own, unique content on online platforms that are part of the network Internet communication system of the archival institution. The aim of the article is to determine effective means of archival Internet communication through the prism of social network accounts. The research methodology is based on the use of general scientific methods, namely synthesis, description, explanation, analysis, and comparison. Scientific novelty. The study describes the content of social network accounts of Ukrainian archival institutions, and provides recommendations for its improvement to advance archival Internet communication. The study is based on the social network accounts of the archives (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube) as a source of archival Internet communication. The network activity of 9 central state archives, 24 state regional archives, and the State Archive of Kyiv is analysed. For comparison, the article provides an analysis of the social networks of the US National Archives through which network Internet communication is carried out. The study showed that 9 central archives, 24 regional archives, and the State Archive of Kyiv had Facebook accounts, there are 16 archival institutions on Instagram, 17 on YouTube, and 2 on Twitter. Conclusions. Thus, archival institutions can accumulate their potential to produce quality, interesting, and most importantly unique content in one of the social networks to achieve maximum results in promoting their page on the social network. It is proposed to actively promote Facebook accounts, as the starting data of profiles of this social network are the highest given the number of subscribers and the experience of page administration.
The article is devoted to the disclosure of approaches to the application of innovative methods that are implemented using cloud services during the teaching of the discipline “Information, Library and Archival Studies” for students majoring in 029 “Information, Library and Archival Studies” at the first (bachelor’s) level at Zaporizhzhia National University in the conditions of mixed education. It was found that a mixed form of education requires from students higher education stable motivation, the ability to self-organization while mastering new knowledge and skills. At the same time, the use of online technologies, in particular cloud services, opens wide opportunities for the implementation of both educational and upbringing tasks during classes and independent work of students. It is proved that in modern conditions of rapid technical and technological modernization, development of new media, creation of a single information space studying the traditional discipline of library and information specialists “Standardization in information, library and archival affairs” is complicated, which requires transformation of teaching methods to create conditions for high-quality mastering of basic knowledge in professional activity. The advantages of using innovative methods of teaching the discipline “Standardization in Information, Library and Archival Studies” for students majoring in 029 “Information, Library and Archival Studies” based on the experience of Zaporizhzhia National University are substantiated. Taking into account the content of the discipline, its goals and objectives, approaches to the use of such innovative methods as the method of hexagonal learning, basket-method, decision tree, etc. in the context of blended learning are revealed.
The goal of the work. The research carried out is connected with the search of a concept that would allow to describe the system unity of all the branch-subject components of the specialty "Information, Library and Archival Studies".
The methods used to substantiate the content of the concept of "knowledge management" as enabling aggregation, the search for common in specialties, which in the newly created specialty do not yet have a "metateoria" of vocational training.
The scientific novelty of the research carried out is to identify the possibility of applying the notion of "knowledge management" as a methodological benchmark for constructing the concept of the specialty "Information, Library and Archival Studies".
Conclusions. Knowledge management is a structural component of information management and, together with elements such as content management, record management and document management, correspond to the semantic field of activity of a specialist in the field of information activity.
Professional tasks of the information specialist cover a wide range of issues related to the integral approach to the creation, accumulation and management of knowledge - both recorded in the form of documents, and those who need to find, identify and formalize.
The construction of noncontradictory term systems is necessary in archival science, documental science and other documental and information sciences. Moreover, the construction of the documentology term system, which generalizes definitions and optimizes basic terms and schemes of documental and information sciences both like related sciences, coordinates the term systems construction of these disciplines, is needed under conditions of interdisciplinarity in Science.
Definitions analysis of terminological standards and legislation on office works and archival sciences reveals sometimes the presence of definitions homonymy like sentences both like their components as syntagms. The elimination of this kind of homonymy serves as a condition of noncontradictive construction of term systems in document science and archival science.
The aim of the article is to investigate ways to assess the effectiveness of scientific research, conduct a comprehensive analysis and characterise the publications of research and teaching staff of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts. The research methodology is based on the application of a systematic approach and a number of methods: analytical, observation, comparison, and the method of theoretical generalisation. The classification method is to organise data by volume and quantity. The authors have revealed the transformation of the structure of scientific research through the dialectical method taking into account the development of scientometric indicators. The scientific novelty consists in processing and covering the results of publication activity of research and teaching staff of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts in international scientometric databases. The article describes the work of the Scientific Library to provide access to full-text databases, user training, monitor publication activity, and identify scientific papers in international databases. Conclusions. The significance of publications as a scientometric indicator is that this indicator assesses the effectiveness of both individual scientists and research teams and facilities. Publications in academic journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science contribute to the growth of the rating in the scientific community, guarantee the successful defence of scientific work, increase the chance of receiving grants, and contribute to an excellent start to publishing activities in world-class scientific journals, and so on. The creation and active work of the bibliometric and scientometric sector of the Scientific Library, which provides information and analytical support for the publication activity of higher education institutions, contributed to the increase in the level of publication activity, scientometric and bibliometric indicators of research and teaching staff of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.
The article is devoted to the substantiation of the urgency of separation of the memorial direction in library research and development of library activity, connected with realization of the memory policy, the introduction of the appropriate course in the program of training of future specialists of library business.
Emphasis is focused on increasing of scientific attention to the study of historical memory, especially culture memory and identity in the context of the transition to the information society, highlighting the organizational design of this research area in the form of appropriate research centres and the Memory Studies Association. Within the framework of the structuralfunctional method and from the standpoint of the connection between the concepts of “collective memory”, “historical memory”, “cultural memory”, there has been stated libraries participation in the formation and preservation different kinds of social memory through the realization of such essential functions of libraries as memorial, cumulative, informational and communicative. The relevance of the intensification of research into the memory studies within the framework of librarianship is substantiated. Prospective directions of interaction between the Ukrainian Library Association and the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory are offered with the aim of comprehensively uncovering commemorative potential of libraries and their more active involvement in the implementation of memory policy.
The foreign experience of organizing relevant interdisciplinary programs and training courses for the preparation of master’s students has been revealed. The orientational structure of the course “Culture, memory, identity” for students of master’s level of specialty 029 “Information, library and archives” is offered, the study of which will allow students to analyze, identify, describe the processes of constructing of historical memory and cultural identity, critically to comprehend relevant scientific texts, to identify and critically evaluate approaches to the implementation of memory policies and preservation of spiritual heritage in Ukraine and abroad, to develop effective approaches to memory policy within the library practices.
The article analyzes the main functions of monitoring YouTube video hosting, in particular, the authors’ experience of video hosting for educational purposes. The authors focused on studying the principles of creating and maintaining their own YouTube channel, optimizing content search, building high-quality models of playlists. It is noted that when designing your own YouTube channel, it must be understood that this innovative product is based on dynamic content modification and should take into account the needs of the end user.
The present research analyzes the toolbars that control the content of the channel on the YouTube video hosts, namely, Creative Studio and New Creative Studio (Beta), which are distinguished by graphic design and functional specifications that provide the ability to adapt to a particular user. The present research studies video identifiers on YouTube, which make it possible to monitor video resources by various features: novelty (publication time), number of views, user priorities. The authors paid special attention to the system of internal identification of videos on the YouTube channel, represented by the following identifiers: unique alphanumeric combinations, which are additionally used to integrate YouTube services into others. From a technical point of view, it significantly simplifies the grouping of content, exact search and eliminates falsification.
Attention is drawn to copyright infringement issues on YouTube and possible ways to avoid them. It is noted that any attempt to use fragments from other sources, as is generally the case with popular contemporary musical and feature films, may lead to blocking your own YouTube channel. One way to avoid blocking someone else’s video content is by monetization policy, which involves distributing revenue from advertising between YouTube and the owner. The authors concluded that the use of video content, in particular for educational purposes, is a promising direction for further research and requires a more detailed study for practical application.
The article explores technological and social prerequisites of functioning and developmen of mobile services, which become an integral part of modern society. It has been proved that the development of wireless data technologies and an increase in the speed of information transmission have led to the active use of mobile devices, which have been extensively distributed in recent years around the world.
It has been found that improving of mobile communications and reducing the cost of using it is an important prerequisite for the expansion of mobile services. There is a trend towards increasing demand among users for high-speed Internet access. The level of penetration of the Internet in Ukraine and the number of active users of mobile Internet are highlighted.
It is substantiated that the important prerequisite for the emergence of mobile services is the rapid and continuous improvement of mobile phones (smartphones) and their capabilities. The growing of smartphones popularity is actualizing and stimulating the development of mobile services, among which mobile applications are at the forefront. It is proved that the use of various applications extends forms of access to information resources, significantly affects the volume and speed of data transmission, what in turn, acts as one of the conditions for the functioning of mobile services.
The essence and preconditions of digital competence formation in the context of development of global trend of digital transformation of society and activation of use of mobile services are revealed. The role of education in this process is identified. The necessity of constant development of digital competences, formation of digital culture and support of organization of training by state authorities as the main initiator and strategist of formation and realization of human capital are substantiated. The relevance of the inclusion of library institutions as possessing resource and image capital to the process of formation of digital culture is proved.

Розглянуто oсновні технічні функції таких програм, як Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Microsoft Cortana, Apple Siri, а також випадки їхнього використання в приватному і громадському середовищах. Представлені, також, тенденції дослідження ІПА та ідеї для дослідження ІПA в українському контексті.
The article is devoted to disclosing the functional potential of the Ukrainian Library Association (UBA) as an open professional organization that focuses its efforts on developing librarianship in Ukraine and strengthening the democratic foundations of social development in the country. The use of a set of research methods, the main of which were socio-communicative, systemic and functional methods, as well as empirical methods of inclusive and external observation, led to consideration of ULA and its activities from the standpoint of fulfilling its obligations, its compliance with library community expectations. Implementing certain functions of the ULA and its activities is revealed as a system of interconnected forms and tools that complement each other, enhancing the final effect. The creation of the ULA is considered as a response of the professional community to the need to solve certain tasks and implement a number of functions in relation to the development of the national library business and society as a whole. For the first time, the functioning of UBA as an open adaptive leadership organization that implements organizational, mobilization-motivating, communication-coordination, information, educational, scientific-methodical, consolidating, representative, advocacy, compensatory functions is substantiated. The content of these functions is revealed. The purpose of the compensatory function is to provide libraries with the necessary theoretical and practical basis for the effective implementation of promising areas of activity in the absence of relevant approved guidelines at the national level. It was found that from the beginning of the ULA the statutory documents of the organization did not provide for the implementation of the compensatory function. Still, during the development of the association and expressing its focus on prompt and effective solutions to current problems in library development, its implementation became an important vector of the ULA.
The article deals with the activity of the Ukrainian Library Association on the basis of the dialectical approach and philosophical categories of form and content, the analysis of which allows to explore the features of representation, management, priorities and development of the activities of the Ukrainian Library Association through the prism of its structure. During the research in order to achieve this goal, a dialectical method was used, the application of which led to a consideration of the transformation of the Ukrainian Library Association structure from the standpoint of the development of both the association and its activity, social-communicative and systemic methods, according to which the Ukrainian Library Association was considered as an open system, which develops dynamically and adapts to new realities, structural and functional method, within which the conformity of the directions of the functioning of the organization with its structural components was determined, methods of document analysis, modelling and descriptive. The structure of the Ukrainian Library Association is substantiated as an organizational model of priority directions of its functioning and management of the association’s activities in realization of these directions. It is revealed that the structural and functional specifics of the Ukrainian Library Association are determined by leading experts in the field of book and librarianship, who are experts in different spheres of library activity and have a significant influence on solving topical issues of library affairs, developing separate directions of the association’s development within the work of relevant sections. It has been found that the sections created reflect, on the one hand, the thematic orientation of the association, and on the other, attention to the functioning of libraries of certain types and types. It is emphasized that one of the priority directions of the Association’s activity nowadays is ensuring continuity, which is organizationally reflected in the creation of the Youth Section. It is substantiated that the mechanisms of formation of structural components of the organizational system, openness and transparency of the activity of the association determines the flexibility of its organizational model, which is a guarantee of the adaptability of the activities of the Ukrainian Library Association to the realities of today.
The aim of the research is to outline the axiological guidelines for the functioning of the innovative media space of a modern library. The research methodology is based on general scientific methods of generalisation, systematisation and forecasting. The hypothetical method made it possible to define the «innovative media space of a modern library» based on a value-based approach in library science. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the substantiation of the value approach to the creation and functioning of the innovative media space of a modern library. The author’s definition of the concept of «innovative media space of a modern library» is a set of technical, technology and software tools of library activities formed in the process of digital transformations of the library aimed at meeting the information and social and communicative needs of citizens, due to their professional, social activities, education, leisure, life, tasks of personal growth and communication. Conclusions. In the context of digital transformations of libraries, the issue of avoiding technology determinism and the need to adapt the humanistic function of the library to innovative shifts remains relevant. Technology and social-communicative components of innovative media space of modern libraries should be considered in the relationship and interaction following the axiological guidelines of the library, including the implementation of social, educational, value-oriented, moral and ethical, memorial, environmental recreational functions. The theory and methodology of research on the digital technology issues in libraries is a value approach, which consists of the joint study of humanitarian issues (library’s purpose) and technology issues (ways to implement the library’s purpose). From the point of view of the value approach, the innovative media space of a modern library is a set of technical, technology and software tools of library activity formed in the digital transformations of the library aimed at meeting the information and social and communicative needs of citizens, due to their professional, social activities, education, leisure, life, tasks of personal growth and communication.
Using the example of the Scopus database, an analysis of publications was conducted by Belarusian authors with the aim of studying the international scientific cooperation trends at the initial stage. Based on the use of scientometric and bibliometric methods – statistical, counting the number of publications, сindices, the number of co-authors and it was revealed that the share of single publications in the thematic collections of the database is extremely small, articles, which are presented, they had been published as the result of large-scale international projects and prepared with the participation of a large team of authors with the leading role of researchers in highly developed countries. The perspective of the international collective format of cooperation for publication of the scientific research results in journals with a high impact factor has been substantiated, which contributes to the citation of works and enhancing the scientific image of Belarusian authors.
Reference and bibliographic services are one of the main activities of the Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Its advance depends on the level of training of librarians in this field and their professional knowledge. The rules of the reference and bibliographic services have been developed for decades, and are improved and perfected in the process of everyday practice. Reference and bibliographic work, like any other professional activity, has its own professional rules and secrets.
The purpose of this work is to review the potential use of scientometric and bibliometric indicators to assess the results of scientific activities and outline current trends and correlations of data and indicators of highly cited documents of Ukrainian authors in leading citation databases.
Based on the analysis of selected documents and citations of Ukrainian researchers in three citation databases Dimensions, Scopus, Web of Science Core Collection, as well as taking into account some indicators of Altmetrics and using indicators such as Scopus Citation benchmarking, Plum X Metrics for time period of 2017–2019, this paper highlights the features, trends and correlations of individual indicators for highly cited publications of Ukrainian researchers. There are a number of examples illustrating the study. It was found that the first ten highly cited documents of Ukrainian authors are the work of a large number of co-authors, in particular foreign ones, at the same time there are documents where scientists with Ukrainian affiliation are the main authors; top-list journals are not Ukrainian sources; most Ukrainian-affiliated documents obtained from searches in leading citation databases are published in journals with open access publication model, although the absence of full text and mention of the document on the Internet does not mean the absence of citations, if it is of interest to the scientific community; documents from Ukrainian authorsreceived the most citations in the following fields of knowledge: medical, physical, mathematical, computer and chemical sciences.
The authors of this study confirm, in particular, the obtained data correlate between the number of citations and the international academic partnership, access type and type of publication, source and place of publication, etc.
Актуальність дослідження визначена тим, що в останнім часом КНР демонструє стрімкий розвиток книжкового ринку, обумовлений раціональною організацією і управлінням книжковою сферою. Критичне осмислення досвіду роботи в цьому напрямку є цікавим і корисним для України. Мета статті – проаналізувати досвід в організації та управлінні книжковою торгівлею в КНР.
Головним методом, що використовується в роботі, є аналіз законодавчих матеріалів та інтернет-ресурсів державних органів управління КНР, статистичних даних.
У статті описано діяльність партійних і державних органів з управління книжковою галуззю, а саме Відділу пропаганди ЦК Компартії Китаю, Державного управління у справах преси і друку КНР, Міністерства культури КНР. Розглянуто законодавчу базу, що забезпечує функціонування галузі. Особливу увагу приділено «Закону про управління видавничим ринком». Висвітлено загальні напрями державної політики КНР, що впливають на процеси організації та управління книжковою торгівлею. Проаналізовано низку документів, прийнятих партійними і державними органами влади КНР і спрямованих на реформування книжкової справи.
З’ясовано, що питання організації та управління книжковою торгівлею в КНР вирішується шляхом оптимального поєднання державного регулювання і ринкових механізмів. Функції держави полягають у визначенні стратегічних напрямів розвитку галузі, створенні законодавчої бази, забезпеченні процесу стандартизації, нагляду та контролю. Держава створює сприятливі умови для розвитку галузі, які полягають у фінансовій підтримці проєктів, стимулюванні інвестицій, залученні іноземного капіталу, податкових знижках. Аналіз статистичних матеріалів свідчить, що така політика дає позитивні результати.
Досвід в організації та управлінні книжковою справою в КНР потрібно вивчати, оскільки країна демонструє швидкі темпи зростання книжкового ринку завдяки оптимальному поєднанню державного регулювання і ринкових механізмів.
Стаття сфокусована на спробі дослідити особливості взаємин «читач» – «книга», себто сприйняття читачем не твору, а саме книги як рівноправного співрозмовника у часи італійського Ренесансу. Ця спроба ґрунтується на зауваженнях концептуального характеру, які стосуються функцій і статусу тексту як такого (Ю. М. Лотман) та власне книжкової комунікації (В. А. Маркова). Підґрунтям для висновків щодо статусу книги у тогочасній комунікації є аналіз згадок про книгу (описів, звернень) як про одухотворену особу та спілкування з нею, які містяться у текстах літературних творів різних жанрів (поетична лірика, листи, приклади агіографії, трактати італійських гуманістів тощо), авторами яких є представники давньоримської, середньовічної та ренесансної італійської культури.
Метою статті є доповнення сформованої дослідниками схеми книжкової комунікації рівнями «читач» – «книга» та «читач» – «автор». Обґрунтовується поява та закріплення у свідомості читача асоціації автора з його твором, отже, з книгою як носієм його твору. Доведено, що комунікацію за зазначеними рівнями, з огляду, зокрема, на емоційну забарвленість, можна вважати спілкуванням, відповідно, «книга» і «книга-автор» постають суб’єктами спілкування.
На підставі результатів аналізу творів відомих представників Ренесансу доведено, що, крім передачі інформації, книга стає джерелом емоційних переживань і мотивує до певних дій, про що читач повідомляє книгу, в тому числі й через постановку питань до неї, тобто до її автора, що дає підстави стверджувати про участь книги в кондиційному та мотиваційному спілкуванні. З’ясовано, що на формування ставлення до книги як до співрозмовника вплинула екстраполяція на неї особистості автора твору, що сприяло певному одухотворенню книги в свідомості читача.
Перші ознаки набуття книгою статусу суб’єкта спілкування можна помітити задовго до Ренесансу, а саме – у Давньому Римі, в доробку Марка Тулія Цицерона та деяких пізніших авторів. Культура середньовіччя не дає прикладів, які дозволяють визнати за книгою в ті часи статус суб’єкта комунікації. Ренесанс, навпаки, часто та доволі різноманітно використовує мотив спілкування з книгою як з одухотвореною особою. У пізніші часи потреба в інформації (в широкому сенсі) спричинила перехід до т. зв. прагматичного читання, внаслідок чого ставлення читача до книги набуває певною мірою споживацьких рис, стає раціональним, розсудливим і тверезим. Це на досить тривалий час зробило спілкування із книгою неактуальними.
The article is devoted to substantiation from the standpoint of intercommunication as a social practice of the essential advantage of reading paper books and the relevance of book practices of the library service. The methodological tools of the study were based on the methods of hypothesis, included and external observation, extrapolation, survey, comparative and analytical methods, the use of which, along with the formulation of the general idea of the study created the basis for understanding the book as an object that represents the author, characters, and texts and can perform the function not only of an information source, but also of the narrator, and thus of the subject of communication; made it possible to identify common and special features of reading electronic and paper books, to draw conclusions about the priority format for young people reading literary texts, to identify modern scientific approaches to studying the role of books and reading for personal development. Based on the analysis of current professional publications, data on the study of reader behavior conducted in autumn 2018 by the cultural and publishing project “Chitomo” together with the digital publishing house Gutenbergz and the Razumkov Center ("Reading in Ukraine", 2018), the results of a survey of students majoring in 029 “Information, library and archival business”, which was carried out during 14.01.2021–14.02.2021, the relevance of maintaining the practice of reading books in paper format is proved, the formation of the space of communication as a social practice, based on the functioning of the paper book as a subject of communication, has been substantiated. The topic of such communication is both the text printed in the book and the whole set of historical, social and socio-cultural meanings associated with the authors of the books, their publishers and / or former owners. It has been found that e-books, being effective communicators, lose subjectivity, which creates risks for reading-oriented people to weaken communication and socialization skills, and thus – actualizes the need to maintain access to real bookshelves and paper books in the library. space. In the conditions of needs of access to electronic texts, dynamics of social processes, social mobility, the library remains a place that allows preserving and reproducing important for the formation and socialization of personality social practice of interpersonal communication, in particular by creating conditions for real communication with paper books.
The purpose of the paper is to research the vocational education needs of Ukrainian universities’ librarians in order to acquire / update competencies under the circumstances of rapid technological, social and economic change. The results were obtained through an online survey conducted by The Section of the University Libraries of the Ukrainian Library Association. The online questionnaire consisted of six logically related sections designed to find out the following: demographic characteristics, the attitude to the need for continuous vocational education, the knowledge level, skills and abilities based on self-examination, effective education forms, motivating and restraining factors, peculiarities of information perception, etc. The findings demonstrated that librarians are cognizant of the necessity for continuing professional development in order to implement changes. Another important finding is that there is a demand for professional development programs. The findings are important because they specify the range of topics, skills, abilities that librarians feel the necessity for, as well as the priorities in choosing the convenient educational forms. The study is also intended to contribute towards the development of appropriate curricula, resources, and services for advanced training.
Given the widespread penetration of Internet technology in marketing practices, one of which is branding, accelerating the internetization of business processes due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the requirements of social distancing, continuous improvement and expansion of online branding tools, the task of defining and justifying of the role of branding informational component becomes actual. The proposed article is devoted to solving this issue on the example of cases of catering establishments. The application of a set of scientific methods, including review-analytical, system, case-method, induction method, and processing of publications in professional and specialised publications, media materials, social media content, made it possible to distinguish technological and content components in the information dimension of catering establishments’ branding. The content component includes: 1) development of the concept or “legend” of the brand – its positioning in a competitive environment, which determines the key messages aimed at ensuring brand recognition and identification; 2) visual and verbal expression of the agreed concept of the brand: – visual information – logo, room design, staff uniform, site design, representations in social networks; – verbal component – slogan, menu, style and content of messages. The technological component of the information dimension of branding includes those software and technology tools through which information is disseminated about the brand and communication with the customer environment: official websites of institutions, their representation in social networks, mobile applications, messengers, online advertising. It is proved that effective branding involves a harmonious combination of content and technological components. The emphasis on technology and failures in the content component create risks of reputational and financial losses of the enterprise.
The aim of the article is to consider and highlight the leading trends in IAC work based on the analysis of websites’ content nowadays. The research methodology is based on the application of content analysis was used for revealing in the material of websites some trends and directions of IAC work, systematisation, and categorisation, which help to reconstruct the real situation of IAC in Ukraine and also methods of generalisation, comparative analysis, induction and deduction. The set of issues connected with the Ukrainian informative analytical centres (IAC) functioning on the modern stage, mainly regarding the formation of their net structure, formalisation, and activity coordination in a combination of outer challenges, determines the conceptual frameworks and leading trends in IAC work, highlights and considers the most critical tasks of nowadays. The scientific novelty of the study is the first article-based research of websites of above 50 Ukrainian IAC, mainly that are non-governmental. The article has determined the problematic-thematic directions of their analytical work, such as political-legal and economical; defence-security; international-integrational; social-transformation and cultural; expert and scientific-technical. Conclusions. Based on the websites’ content analysis, it was determined that most pointed informative and research structures concentrate on their analytical work on political-economic problematic that explains the interests of separate stakeholders and sources of financing for the subjects of the information field. It was shown that including modern trends and challenges following the political-economic problematic starts focused on the integration and safety questions and only after them on social-cultural aspects of the Ukrainian lives most in the part of social standards and democratic freedoms. And very little attention in an expert-analytical environment is put on the improving scientific and technical potential and analytical methodology on which the work of all IAC are based.
Issues of incorporation of the term "document" into Russian legal acts of the XVIII – first half of the XIX century are disclosed. On the basis of the analysis of the primary sources it was made an attempt to reconstruct the process of forming legal concepts about the document in the Russian legal tradition. The beginnings of the first conceptions of the document as an independent form of judicial evidence in Russia at the beginning of the XVIII century are considered. The procedure of forming the legal properties of the document as a type of judicial evidence through the institutionalization of written communications in the judicial sphere is shown.
It was revealed that the process of the formation of legal imaginations about the document took place during the institutionalization of written communications, which included protection from service falsehoods, normative regulation of the processes of creating a document and its movement throughout the life cycle, as well as the regulation of the document form. The importance of forming views on the examination of the authenticity of the document and its priority as judicial evidence is emphasized, the role of the translation of written communications in the legal sphere under the control of the state in this process is substantiated.
It was established that by the middle of the nineteenth century the document in the civil law was considered to be a type of written record, the trust to which was ensured at the institutional level, what allowed to use the document in civil litigation as an indisputable evidence, which had the advantage above religious oath and testimony. Precisely in the legal context the document begins to be used in the sphere of clerical work.
Quantitative data are increasingly influencing the evaluation of the effectiveness of research and researchers. Citations may be the main metric to assess the quality and value of a publication, the number of which evaluates the academic impact. Who and how is citing Ukrainian scholarly journals? And speaking about citations, what are the main connections and trends? To study these aspects, we analyzed the citations of two “young” Ukrainian journals published by the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. The authors searched for articles published by two journals (Kyiv-Mohyla Humanities Journal and Kyiv-Mohyla Law and Politics Journal) in the citation databases Dimensions, Web of Science and Scopus. With the help of bibliometric analysis, such indicators as: citation; self-citation of the author; self-citation of the journal; citations from the author affiliated with the publisher of the journal; citations from the author who has a joint affiliation with the author of the article; Altmetric Attention Score. The purpose of the study is to distinguish the publications impact in various fields of knowledge in Open Access journals for researchers around the world, the growing number of citations for English-language publications, the importance of international publishing standards, correlations for self-citation, etc. An important aim is also to summarize the importance of journal indexing in different databases. The study showed that the number of journal citations is primarily influenced by the thematic relevance of published materials. Including, the subject of the article (volume, issue) has a strong correlation with the dynamics and geography of the citations. The number of self-citations of authors, self-citations of the journal, as well as citations from the joint affiliation with the author and publisher was insignificant. No significant impact on the number of citations was also found in the date of publication and its distribution on the Internet (Altmetric). Journal indexing in abstract, full-text databases and citation databases also affects their visibility and audience.
The article analyzes the scientific comprehension state of QR-coding technology in the domestic and foreign scientific literature. It has been revealed in which industries the QR-technology is most widely used. Two basic types of QR-codes are explored – dynamic and static, and the differences between them are identified. The possibilities of providing information services using QR-codes are outlined. The types of information and data that can be encoded (text and multimedia) are analyzed. Mobile applications of the new format (“smart” QR-code generators) have been considered to provide additional connectivity between smartphones, QR-codes, and content. The dynamics of the use of QR-codes and their popularity in foreign countries have been revealed.
The advantages of QR-coding technology, which are easy to use and financially affordable due to the availability of free online services, are verified. Such advantages of QR-codes as versatility, flexibility, economy, environmental friendliness, tracking and analytics, user involvement are emphasized. It has been found that in order to get effective marketing results using QR-coding technology, certain recommendations are required, such as pre-testing QR-code readings, checking of the expediency of selecting their location, the relevance and importance of encoded content.
On the basis of the experience of using QR-codes in library work, the prospect of QR-coding technology as a type of mobile service in library institutions from the point of view of modern marketing means of communication is substantiated. It has been established that today QR-codes in the library can be considered as a component of a mobile service, which makes it possible to increase the level of library service, as an effective way to provide additional information for the reader, to promote the books, authors and the library itself.
The article describes the experience of structural and cognitive transformation of the discipline "Library and information service" (LIS), which is taught to students in frames of the specialty 029 "Information, library and archival affairs" at Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts (KNUCaA). The formation and substantive filling of it in different historical periods have been analysed. It has been proved that in the current conditions of rapid technical and technological development, new media introduction, creation of a single information space thematic and semantic content of the course is significantly expanding, which requires its transformation. It is proposed to introduce in the invariant part of the curriculum the discipline "Information service", in which service is considered as a phenomenon of communication culture, navigation and search activities carried out in a single information system. This is also due to the fact that information service, along with other types of services (transport service, energy, medical, trade, cultural and educational, etc.) is developing at the most powerful pace, it is dominant in the conditions of informatization of society. The expediency of including the discipline "Library and Information Service" in the invariant part of the curriculum and teaching it for the specialization "Management of Library and Information Activity" is substantiated. In mastering the course, students will become acquainted with the peculiarities of service organization in different types of libraries, modern technologies, traditional and innovative forms of popularizing information resources and services of libraries with the psychological principles of service in the modern library environment. The achievement of the goal of the study was facilitated by the methodology of the socio-communicative approach, the principles of historicism, objectivity, systematization, consideration of the problems of library and information services in its dialectics and causation. The scientific novelty of the study is that the transformation of the structural and cognitive components of the LIS discipline in library science was not considered, in accordance with the formation of the system of general and professional competences reflected in the descriptors of the National Qualifications Framework at the first (bachelor) level in the specialty 029 case. It has been proved that the competences that a future specialist will acquire will help to be competitive in the labour market and build professional growth.
The aim of the article is to carry out a retrospective analysis of comics as an object of study in the scientific works of Ukrainian and foreign scholars in the field of painting and comics, as well as to systematise the main periods of studying this topic in the world scientific space. The research methodology of the article is based on the application of both general and special methods of scientific knowledge, in particular retrospective, theoretical-research and system-structural methods. This methodological approach allows revealing and analysing the research of foreign and Ukrainian scholars on the historical aspects of the formation of comics as an independent, complex multimodal entity. The scientific novelty of the study is that the paper comprehensively considers the main aspects and current scientific approaches to the study of painting among domestic and foreign scholars and periodises the development of comics with seven stages of development of comics as an information product and reveals their specifics. The author has shown that comics are an intersemiotic phenomenon of human creative activity, an independent complex multimodal formation. Conclusions. As a result of a detailed description of the features of research in comics, the article proves the emergence of new trends in the study of graphic histories by scientists not only in terms of retrospective comics as a separate art but also such as the interaction of verbal and nonverbal components; the social impact of cartoons on the lives and lives of readers; information and communication properties of cartoons; features of linguistic and cultural aspects of comics; definition of the concept of «comics»; the ratio of certain compositional components of the comic information and communication properties of cartoons; systematic study of varieties and typology of comics.
The growing popularity of comics in Ukraine and worldwide increases scientific attention to this type of information product. The article is devoted to generalising the leading tendencies in the Comics Study and researching comics in modern humanities. Based on the study devoted to comics professional publications, profile resources of world comics research centres and the current state of understanding the phenomenon of comics magazines and Internet resources, application of review-analytical, historical-chronological, dialectical, socio-communication, and content analysis methods has been detected that the syncretic nature of comics made them a research subject in various sciences and programme subject areas: literary studies, linguistics, cultural study, art history, history, political science, and others. Leading research centres of Comics Study are the International Comic Art Forum, the British Consortium of Comic Researchers, the Comics Research Hub of the University of the Arts, the Canadian Society for the Study of Comics, the Society for Comics Researchers (USA). The educational direction of Comics Studies has been represented by bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral (doctor of philosophy) educational programs in higher education institutions of different countries: the University of Florida, University of Toronto, University of California Santa Cruz, University of Portland, West University, University Dundee, Teesside University, Lancaster University (UK), Kyoto Seika University (Japan). The growth of scientific knowledge in Comics Study, on the one hand, and on the other hand - the predominance of interdisciplinary approach in the studies necessitated the establishment of special scientific journals dedicated to comics, such as the Journal of Graphic Novels and Comics, Studies in Comics, European Comic Art. In Ukraine, the study of comics at the dissertation level took place in the dimension of pedagogy and philology. However, some scientific research on comics is available in journalism, press studies, publishing, political science, literature, journalism, and social communications. It has been found that as a multifunctional and unique information product and object of library activity, comics have not yet become the subject of study for bibliologists and librarians. The prospects of separating the corresponding research direction in bibliology and library science are substantiated.
