Covid-19 pandemic has changed the way humanity lives and relates. It is necessary to avoid contamination, increase of deaths and ensure access to basic services such as health and safety to the population while a vaccine or healing is not discovered. Technology and innovation can be used as strategies to ensure access to these services. This study verifies which technologies and innovative actions the state of São Paulo used to reduce the impacts of the pandemic. Leader in absolute numbers of reported cases and deaths from the beginning of the pandemic, São Paulo does not occupy this position when the numbers are compared to its population. By means of qualitative research, of the exploratory-descriptive type, it was concluded that São Paulo used technological resources and innovative actions in public management to combat pandemic. The patent registration in Brazil and in the world has been verified as a developing markers in innovation, technology and economic growth. In this area of knowledge production, universities contribute in different ways in different regions for production, distribution and on sale of innovative products. The study objective is to analyze the production of patents produced in public academic institutions in the Northeast in ten years, with investment increasing and academic production. This is an exploratory and bibliographic research of scientific investigation based on data collected from the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), in scientific papers and other specialized sources. The results of this research reveal the institutions that stood out in the production of patents and have more research groups in this period. In addition, it highlights the need for dissemination and investment on innovation and technology in the academic area.

The paper aims to analyze scientific publications on water resources management in Brazil which dealing with their management by river basin committees, decentralization and participation involving this new management model. With this aim, the paper presents a brief historical background of changes in the form of water resource management and also the scientific production found the last ten years on the subject. The comparative analysis shows that there are distinction referent to the level and intensity of stakeholder participation. Also, the area lacks studies that seek to indicate the level of relevance of such elements.

This paper aims to present a diagnostic technology for the production of complex organizations based on the history of work developed on the theme. To design the diagnostic system in a virtual environment, a bibliographic research was carried out to catalog the history of the works that contributed to the elaboration of this tool, as well as the other studies that used the theoretical basis in its applications. Thus, its forms of use in different organizational contexts, its support tools, the content of its diagnostic charts, the reports generated and the indicator systems were identified. The result is the automation of the diagnostic process and the possibility of integrating the different configurations for different types of organizations in a single platform. Furthermore, it allows the development of benchmarking, comparing organizations from the same, or from different sectors, in addition to maintaining a history of the tool's applications.

Este artigo aborda o processo da ação empreendedora presente em inovações praticadas em uma associação de catadores de materiais recicláveis localizada na região Sul de Minas Gerais, criada a partir de projetos municipais de educação ambiental, desenvolvidos inicialmente por estudantes de uma universidade federal. O objetivo principal do estudo foi identificar projetos inovadores e empreendedores realizados pela associação e deles vislumbrar ciclos de ações empreendedoras. A metodologia utilizada é de natureza qualitativa, de caráter exploratório, por duas entrevistas semi estruturadas. O ciclo da ação define as oportunidades (meio inicial da ação) e a inovação (consequência da pratica da oportunidade) e o resultado que enseja nova ação empreendedora. Evidenciam-se aspectos inovadores, que no ciclo dizem respeito à ideia de criatividade no empreender, como fenômeno que ultrapassa os limites do indivíduo. As inovações podem ser observadas desde o momento da criação da associação, bem como em seus projetos de destaque realizados posteriormente.

This study explores the role that management department leadership has on the performance of undergraduate programs. The study proposes that empowering leadership is an important factor in the educational environment, as it stimulates constructive principles in the culture of the programs. The hypotheses were tested based on a survey conducted with 38 department heads and 505 faculty from undergraduate management programs in private institutions, as well as program performance scores obtained from the National Evaluation System of Higher Education (in portuguese: SINAES - Sistema Nacional de Avaliação da Educação Superior). The results indicate that empowering leadership in department heads is positively associated with constructive culture in the programs, and that the latter is associated with superior performance in external evaluations. The conclusion highlights practical implications of this study for academic leaders and wardens of undergraduate management programs in the Brazilian context.

Levando em consideração o aumento da discussão sobre o Mindset na Administração nos últimos anos, este artigo visa mapear este campo por meio de uma revisão bibliométrica. Os resultados apontam que o Mindset de Crescimento ocupa uma parcela embrionária na discussão e, devido a isso, o artigo buscou também trazer o que vem sendo discutido sobre o tema, por meio de uma revisão sistemática. Os dois estudos foram realizados utilizando a base web of science, referente ao período de período de 2004 a 2019. Da revisão sistemática, destaca-se que as discussões sobre o Mindset de Crescimento na Administração concentram-se principalmente no campo do comportamento do consumidor, mas com trabalhos também na área de estratégia comportamental e liderança. O artigo sistematiza os achados, bem como pontua suas principais limitações e sugestões de futuras pesquisas.

This theoretical essay proposes to identify and discuss the types of rationality in management education in Brazil to propose a reflection on the need to insert more substantive approaches in their training, in addition to analyzing the practical development of administrators’ actions during their training. It uses a literature review, including books, articles published in journals and national and international conferences as well as dissertations and thesis produced in Brazil. These data sources, sought to identify the directions given by the management training programs with regard to the present type of rationality. The analysis indicate that predominates the strengthening of the hegemonic economic rationality (instrumental) at the expense of substantive rationality and its social benefits. It also shows that the practice during the training course is low and that the existing one had not yet developed the necessary skills for the administrator, as even the concern about the practice guided by instrumental rationality does not provide the necessary resources to situations that are not within the "scheme" of the theories discussed in class. Finally, it suggests discussing the need to strengthen the substantive aspects in the management training in business schools in Brazil.

A prática de esportes é uma via reconhecida de inclusão social. No contexto brasileiro, dentre as práticas esportivas, o futebol exerce grande influência social e econômica. Considerando a importância dos clubes de futebol nessa equação, é relevante entender os fatores relacionados à profissionalização de sua gestão. O futebol tem desempenhado, no Brasil, papéis que vão do entretenimento popular máximo às aplicações menos nobres, como o seu emprego para benefícios pessoais dos dirigentes e para manobras políticas. Fundamentando-se na Teoria Institucional e, mais especificamente, na corrente do neo-institucionalismo (DIMAGGIO; POWELL, 1991), o estudo tem como objetivo identificar aspectos relativos ao campo organizacional do futebol que constituem obstáculos ou facilitadores do processo de profissionalização da gestão do futebol nos clubes brasileiros, por meio da melhor compreensão das relações entre os seus diferentes atores. Os resultados apontam que a necessidade de profissionalização da gestão do futebol dos clubes brasileiros é uma percepção institucionalizada, e que sua efetivação pode apresentar impactos sociais, econômicos e financeiros positivos. Entretanto, este objetivo ainda enfrenta entraves práticos arraigados nos mais de cem anos de amadorismo, conservadorismo e prática oligárquica.
