ABSTRACT: We report a case of a 34 yo patient with a fistula-forming periapical lesion on an endodontically obturated 32. Opening of the teeth allowed to find a second non obturated root canal. Endodontic retreatment was performed and both root canals obturated. The observed lesion and fistulae persisted up to 11 months following retreatment. The presence of bacteria suggestive of actinomyces around the roots was suspected. Ablation of a granulation tissue from the 32 apex was performed surgically, followed by an apical resection and a retrograde obturation with rapidly setting eugenol zinc oxyde paste. The histologic study found actinomyces granules, and confirmed thus the diagnosis of periapical actinomycosis. Six months later, progression was favourable with bone healing.
Article: [Tetany crisis].[Show abstract] [Hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: The acute crisis of tetany appears generally on spasmophilic backgrounds, triggered most often by stress and anxiety. Always benign, it can however be quite annoying because of its length. The authors study that crisis successively from an etiological, therapeutical and preventive point of view.
Article: [Allergic manifestations].[Show abstract] [Hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Physiologic principles, mediators, drugs and biologic agents involved in allergic reactions such as skin eruptions, local swelling and anaphylaxis are exposed. Then, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment and preventive modalities are described.
Article: [Asthmatic crisis].[Show abstract] [Hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Attack of asthma (bronchospasm) is a group of sharp breathing manifestations. It can appear in an asthmatic patient or in a patient who has not asthmatic antecedents. It exists a large variety of clinic forms: breathing, neuro-psychic and cardio-circulatory signs. In front of a bronchospasm, oxygenation has priority. The practitioner can use medicinal therapeutics like corticoids and must supervise ventilation.
