Job description

The postdoctoral fellow will join a 3 year NASA-funded interdisciplinary research project, focused on the harmonization of the MODIS and VIIRS global burned area time series. The objective of the investigation is to generate the first ever global fire record covering the 30 years conventionally required for climate analysis.

The position will be based in Dr. Boschetti’s Lab (https://www.uidaho.edu/cnr/faculty/Boschetti)

Required Degree: Doctorate - Quantitative Remote Sensing

Desired skills and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

•Programming experience (e.g. C, R, IDL, GDAL)

•Research experience on the use of NASA MODIS and Landsat Data

•First authored peer reviewed publications

•Experience with global satellite products

•Experience in satellite data fusion

•Experience in time series analysis

•Experience in applied statistics (sampling theory, validation and calibration)
