The Neurocognitive Aging Section (NAS) at the National Institute on Aging is recruiting postdoctoral fellows for an annually renewable appointment of up to 5 years. NAS focuses on systems neuroscience in preclinical animal models aimed at understanding the basis of both impaired and successful cognitive aging. Ongoing projects span from molecular biology and quantitative neuroanatomy to non-invasive brain stimulation and neuroimaging. Well-qualified, highly motivated candidates in any of these areas will be considered. Investigators interested in neural network approaches to successful cognitive aging and intervention are especially encouraged to apply.
Successful candidates will have a strong background in systems and cognitive neuroscience, the neurobiology of memory or related area, and excellent writing skills. Applicants must have a PhD and/or MD and less than 5 years of research experience since receiving their final degree.
