The cancer tumor model serves a s a crucial instrument for understanding the behavior of different cancer tumors. Researchers have employed fractional differential equations to describe these models. In the context of time fractional cancer tumor models, there’s a need to introduce fuzzy quantities instead of crisp quantities to accommodate the inherent uncertainty and imprecision in this model, giving rise to a formulation known as fuzzy time fractional cancer tumor models. In this study, we have developed an implicit finite difference method to solve a fuzzy time-fractional cancer tumor model. Instead of utilizing classical time derivatives in fuzzy cancer models, we have examined the effect of employing fuzzy time-fractional derivatives. To assess the stability of our proposed model, we applied the von Neumann method, considering the cancer cell killing rate as time-dependent and utilizing Caputo’s derivative for the time-fractional derivative. Additionally, we conducted various numerical experiments to assess the viability of this new approach and explore relevant aspects. Furthermore, our study identified specific needs in researching the cancer tumor model with fuzzy fractional derivative, aiming to enhance our inclusive understanding of tumor behavior by considering diverse fuzzy cases for the model’s initial conditions. It was found that the presented approach provides the ability to encompass all scenarios for the fuzzy time fractional cancer tumor model and handle all potential cases specifically focusing on scenarios where the net cell-killing rate is time-dependent.
Background Health-promoting universities are dedicated to fostering learning environments and organizational cultures that support the physical and mental well-being of students, faculty, and staff. As students constitute the largest group within the university community, any policy intervention targeting them is likely to have a significant impact on the university as a whole. Objective This study aims to assess the health status and needs of Qatar University (QU) students using a comprehensive and holistic definition of health, informed by the perspectives of students, faculty members, and key informants. The ultimate goal is to inform evidence-based policies and services designed to improve students’ physical and mental well-being. Methods An explanatory sequential mixed-methods research design will be used to conduct a comprehensive assessment of students’ health status and needs. This assessment will consist of a quantitative component (a web-based health survey) administered to a convenience sample of students, and a qualitative component, including focus groups with students and faculty members, as well as interviews with key informants. Priority health issues and their determinants, identified through the quantitative assessment, will inform and guide the qualitative assessment to provide a deeper understanding of the various contexts and factors shaping them. Descriptive analyses (eg, proportions or means with SDs), comparative analyses (eg, t tests or chi-square tests), and association analyses (eg, linear, logistic, or Poisson regression models) will be used to analyze the quantitative data. Thematic analysis will be used in the qualitative assessments. Additionally, an environmental scan will be conducted to assess relevant facilities, services, and programs at the QU campus and the QU Primary Healthcare Corporation Center, as well as to review university policies and regulations that may affect students’ health and well-being. Together, the needs assessment and environmental scan will inform the design of multilevel interventions, including health education and promotion programs, health services orientation, and proposed policy changes. Results Between March and December 2022, 812 students completed the web-based health survey. Data have been extracted, cleaned, and harmonized. Analyses to assess the extent of selection bias and the calculation of weights to account for this in all subsequent analyses have been completed (by December 2023). Following the completion of all quantitative data analyses (expected by the end of 2024), focus groups, interviews, and the environmental scan will begin in January-December 2025. Conclusions This project will help identify and prioritize the health needs of QU students and their determinants, and inform relevant services and policies targeting these needs. By using comprehensive and context-appropriate methods, this project will contribute to QU’s strategic efforts to become a Health-Promoting University. In this paper, I set out to demonstrate how Poe and Barth understand Arabic narrative showcased in The Arabian Nights , and why they show so much approximation, deviation, and swerve. In their misreading, both Poe and Barth reveal much about the mechanism of the incorporation of Arabic narrative as much as they convey their own cultural and literary concerns. Premised on postcolonial and postmodern theory, I show how the American Orientalism of Poe and Barth perpetrates a misrepresentation of both Arabic narrative, Muslims, and the East. While Foucault’s ‘conditions of possibility’ pertain to a cultural context that is bound to inform writing, there is also the predilection of both writers to maraud Alf Laylah wa-Laylah as their free zone, a colony of a sort.
Theory of world literature used to stand extensively on the premisesof translatability and readability through which works of literaturebecome recognized as world literature. However, one alternativeavenue of theoretical investigation for the ways literatures achieveglobal avowal is through the other chances offered by “misread-ing,” “mistranslation” and “untranslatability.” Untranslatability isa relatively new means of inspection in literary studies and criticism,which revisits the act of translation by re-considering the momentsof failure, resistance, and impossibility of translation. If translatabil-ity has been regarded as the only and secure road to synthesizeglobally recognized literature, yet untranslatability might alsoenhance the possibility of supplementing literary worldliness. Thearticle tests and investigates the chances of universalizing andcanonizing literature through the spectrum of misreading and mis-translation by applying such notions in the cases of Borges andKafka.
BACKGROUND The significance of assertiveness in promoting mental health is well acknowledged. To investigate the impact of assertiveness training on lowering anxiety, stress, and depression among college students at a private university in Cairo. MATERIALS AND METHODS In this study, three questionnaires were used: demographic, Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21), and Rathus Assertiveness Schedule. Students were randomly allocated to either a group that underwent assertiveness training (experimental group) or a control group. A randomized controlled trial (RCT) was utilized with a pre- and post-assessment. The training program is an adapted version of DBT skills training. The training program includes mindfulness, assertiveness, and problem-solving skills through eight 90-min group sessions. RESULTS There were ( n = 50) students in the experimental group compared with ( n = 50) the control group. Assertiveness group, in comparison with control group, resulted in significantly greater reductions in stress as shown in DASS scores (the effect size, d = 0.52, P < .000), anxiety (the effect size, d = 0.30, P < .000), depression (the effect size, d = 0.21, P < .000), and total scores of DASS (the effect size, d = 0.45, P < .000). Assertiveness group, in comparison with control group, resulted in significantly greater increase in assertiveness as shown in RAS scores (the effect size, d = 0.38, P < .000). CONCLUSION It is possible that increasing an individual’s level of assertiveness might be a helpful strategy for reducing feelings of anxiety, stress, and depression.
This research study investigates whether online training of nursing students enhances autism cultural competency. In the recent past, there has been a significant increase in global autism spectrum disorder incidents, particularly in low and middle-income nations. While recognizing the increased autism spectrum disorder cases, the research emphasizes the need for comprehensive care training for nursing students. This study employs a pragmatic quasi- experimental method to assess the impact of online training modules on nursing students' attitudes, competencies, and knowledge at the University of Calgary in Qatar. A total of 155 second and third-year nursing students completed tests that assessed their cultural competencies and perceived confidence. Based on the Likert scale responses, the online module has significantly improved participants' cultural competence and knowledge. The descriptive statistics pinpoint the areas needing more focus to ensure holistic care for autism patients. The overall research findings showed a significant impact of online training on autism cultural competency. Therefore, the results suggest the efficiency of online training nursing programs associated with autism care. The study outcomes illustrate the benefits of increased awareness, reduced stigma, advanced diagnosis, and effective collaboration among healthcare professionals. As the study concludes, it recommends allocating more funding to facilitate comprehensive autism research in Qatar.
In this work, we present a sophisticated operating algorithm, the reproducing kernel Hilbert space method, to investigate the approximate numerical solutions for a specific class of fractional Begley-Torvik equations (FBTE) equipped with fractional integral boundary condition. Such fractional integral boundary condition allows us to understand the non-local behavior of FBTE along with the given domain. The algorithm methodology depends on creating an orthonormal basis based on reproducing kernel function that satisfies the constraint boundary conditions so that the solution is finally formulated in the form of a uniformly convergent series in ϖ 3 [ a , b ] {\varpi }_{3}\left[a,b] . From a numerical point of view, some illustrative examples are provided to determine the appropriateness of algorithm design and the effect of using non-classical boundary conditions on the behavior of solutions approach.
College students’ positive experiences were examined before and during COVID-19 when courses transitioned to a new format. During COVID-19, university courses at a state university in the US transitioned to a new online format. This study observed the affective experiences of students through the instructors’ course crafting during times of crisis. The method of critical incident qualitative data collection examined what students perceived as positive experiences. Students’ perceptions were examined, and the nature and types of positive experiences were examined before and during the pandemic. This comparison provided insights into the emotions and feelings experienced between the two groups (Before COVID-19 and During COVID-19). As courses were modified and redesigned for remote learning, examination of the findings showed students’ positive experiences considering the faculty recrafting their courses, which gave a valuable insight into the dynamics of these positive experiences in the teaching and learning process. Educators crafted their courses’ changing format and provided emotional support, empathy, kindness, reassurance, and encouragement when needed. The implications of these findings and understanding how we can thrive and flourish even in very challenging times in the virtual environment is discussed.
The space–time perturbed fractional Gerdjikov–Ivanov equation is the main topic of this work, together with quintic nonlinearity and self-steepening, as it involves several intricate physical phenomena including nonlinearity, self-steepening and fractional calculus, where the fractional derivative is described by employing a conformable derivative. In addition, the governing equation is transformed into an integer-order ordinary differential equation by using an appropriate fractional complex transformation. Under certain restrictions, a direct algebraic method is employed to investigate the structures of chirp soliton solutions enfolding hyperbolic functional terms. The dynamic behaviour and bifurcation of equilibria of the system are thoroughly examined; chirp soliton solutions under specified constraints are investigated and the evolving profiles of the obtained solutions are visualized. Moreover, this research offers valuable perspectives on the behaviour of chirp solitons under specific conditions, which have practical applications in nonlinear physical systems and optical communication systems. The significant contribution of this work is the investigation and obtaining of novel chirp soliton solutions with hyperbolic functional terms under particular limitations using a novel approach. It further extends the prior approaches by treating difficult fractional differential equations from a fresh angle, offering new tools, and closely examining soliton solutions.
Technological advancement and innovations not only transformed businesses but also optimize numerous functional areas of financial services. Besides, green finance and fintech are also essential tools to achieve sustainable development agendas. Thus, it is imperative to document the evidence that how conducive such factors are to achieve 2030 sustainable development goals. The study, in this regard, is aimed to scrutinize innovation, green finance, financial technologies, and ESG factors altogether in order to determine their effectiveness on sustainable development in Gulf countries in the time span of 2000–2020. The study opts for methods of moments quantile regression (MMQR) and claim that green finance, green innovation, and fintech helps in achieving sustainable development goals. However, among ESG factors, social and governance role is negative in the sampled economies. Findings are interesting for policy makers and government institutions because it assists them to improve governance evaluation system and classification standards so that countries may no longer experience hindrance when indulging in sustainable development actions.
This article presents a state-of-the-art review of the last decade (2010–2020) of research on Teacher Professional Learning and Leadership produced by researchers in Canadian universities and published by peer-reviewed journals indexed in Web of Science or Scopus database. The review aims to succinctly summarize key ideas, themes, and findings during the decade from 2010 to 2020 from Canadian research and to assist in identifying the major trends, strengths, and gray areas in the Canadian research. Thirty-one articles were selected for their specific focus on teacher professional learning and leadership. We present our findings using three broad thematic headings. First, evidence from examples of approaches to teachers’ professional learning and leadership in Canada, includes sub-sections on: teachers’ professional learning and leadership development programs; and teachers’ organizations and professional learning. Second, processes for developing professional learning and leadership and intended outcomes, includes sub-sections on: professional capital; social capital, collaborative learning, and professional learning communities; mentoring; teacher voice and agency; deprivatizing teaching practice; building relational trust; distributed leadership; and ethical leadership and decision-making. Third, professional learning informing educational change, policies, and practices, includes sub-sections on: educational change; technology; teacher evaluation and accountability; assessment practices; and diversity, inclusion and multi-culturalism.
This paper investigates the dynamics of exact traveling-wave solutions for nonlinear spatial and temporal fractional partial differential equations with conformable order derivatives arising in nonlinear propagation waves of small amplitude including nonlinear fractional modified Benjamin–Bona–Mahony equation, fractional Zakharov–Kuznetsov–Benjamin–Bona–Mahony equation and fractional (2+1)-dimensional Kadomtsev–Petviashvili–Benjamin–Bona–Mahony equation as well. By utilizing the Sine-Gordon expansion method (SGEM), new real- and complex-valued exact traveling-wave solutions are reported by preferring suitable values of physical free parameters. The nonlinear governing equations are reduced into auxiliary nonlinear ordinary differential equations with aid of fractional traveling-wave transformation, in which the fractional derivative is evaluated in a conformable sense. The productivity process of the proposed method for predicting the desirable solutions is also provided. Some of the obtained solutions are simulated graphically in 3D and contour plots. Meanwhile, the effects of the fractional parameter [Formula: see text] in the space and the time direction are illustrated in 2D plots to ensure the novelty, applicability and credibility of the SGEM. These results reveal that the suggested method is general and adequate for dealing with nonlinear models featuring fractional derivatives and can be employed to analyze wide classes of complex phenomena of partial differential equations occurring in engineering and nonlinear dynamics.
This research investigates the explicit series solutions of the fractional Chaffee–Infante reaction–diffusion coupled hierarchy system utilizing Lie symmetry analysis in two‐dimensional space. This fractional system is a prominent model in fluid dynamics to characterize the surface‐stripe wave evolution of liquids in light of the theory of conservation laws. The governing fractional system is analytically solved by the well‐defined technique, called the power series method, so that the total derivative used is based on the Riemann–Liouville derivative. Simulations are also provided in this direction. The acquired results are systematically validated through a series of test cases. The results show that the proposed method is robust, accurate, and flexible in gaining more solutions, and it is effective in treating various fractional physical phenomena within the framework of conservation laws as well.
