The Corona Virus Disease is a pandemic that originated from Wuhan, China in late 2019 and
spread throughout the world. It caused major disruptions and unprecedented problems
throughout the world, particularly in the healthcare systems. The severe coronavirus acute
syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infected 120 million people around the world by March 2021...

Recombination and mutation of viral genomes represent major mechanisms for viral evolution and, in many cases, moderate pathogenicity. Segmented genome viruses frequently undergo reassortment of the genome via multiple infection of host organisms, with influenza and reoviruses being well-known examples. Specifically, major genomic shifts mediated b...
Genome packaging is the crucial step for maturation of plant viruses containing an RNA genome. Viruses exhibit a remarkable degree of packaging specificity, despite the probability of co-packaging cellular RNAs. Three different types of viral genome packaging systems are reported so far. The recently upgraded type I genome packaging system involves...
Corona Virus disease is a contagious disease that the new generation is always hearing about. It is an infectious disease caused by newly discovered coronavirus namely, SARS-COV. At first, this virus primarily targets the respiratory systems. These viruses spread through droplets of saliva or discharge from nose, sneezes, or coughs. The origin of t...
A novel plant virus with a double-stranded (ds) RNA genome was detected in Lilium spp. in China by high-throughput sequencing and tentatively named “lily amalgavirus 2” (LAV2). The genomic RNA of LAV2 is 3432 nucleotides (nt) in length and contains two open reading frames (ORFs) that putatively encode a ‘1 + 2’ fusion protein of 1053 amino acids (a...
A wide variety of insect-specific non-retroviral RNA viruses specifically infect insects. During viral infection, fragments of viral sequences can integrate into the host genomes creating non-retroviral endogenous viral elements (nrEVEs). Although the exact function of nrEVEs is so far unknown, some studies suggest that nrEVEs may interfere with vi...

... The Omicron variant of the CORONA VIRUS is the fastest spreading variant of the virus solely because of the way it transmits and its mode of transmission is air [14]. There is various vaccine available for COVID-19 [15,16]. These vaccines may or may not prevent the emerging variant omicron. ...
The Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) is a pandemic which outbreak from Wuhan China in late 2019. It has produced serious disturbances and unprecedented problems around the whole world including in worldwide healthcare systems. Severe corona viral acute syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2) causing a severe viral pneumonia which began in December 2019 in Wuhan. The Omicron virus is a newly emerging variant of previously existing SARS-CoV-2. This variant is firstly reported in South Africa on November 24, 2021. The World Health Organization (WHO) identified it as a variation of concern on November 26, 2021. A large number of mutations (60 mutations) with several novel mutations, are discovered in this variant and these mutations disrupt the spike protein targeted by most COVID-19 vaccines. Higher degree of mutations in the virus makes it virus of concern in its transmission, effects on immune system and level of vaccine resistance. As a result, the variant was quickly identified as "of concern," and several countries instituted travel restrictions in an attempt to prevent the spread of the mutation throughout the world. Omicron also reported as zoonotic disease.
