Establishing the limits on the distribution of Gerrhonotus infernalis in Guanajuato state has been relatively complicated, and the presence of this species was uncertain until recently. This paper confirms the presence of Gerrhonotus infernalis for the state, expanding the range of the distribution known for the northeast of the state, based on thr...

Rondonops biscutatus is a Iphisini species known from the southwestern portion of the Brazilian Amazon forest, in the states of Mato Grosso, Pará and Rondônia. In this study, we report the second known locality for the species in Mato Grosso, extending the distribution of the species approximately 545 km.
Cercosaura argulus (Peters, 1863) is widely spread throughout much of the Brazilian Amazon and its neighboring countries. This paper presents the first record of this species in the state of Maranhão, extending its known geographical distribution by 320 kilometers south from Apeú in Pará, and the first record for the northeast region of Brazil.
The anostracans crustaceans of genus Branchinecta inhabit temporary freshwater bodies.
Includes 52 species of which 12 are found in Patagonia. In this work new records for Patagonia are presented, geographic gaps are completed and the geographic distribution range is extended for six species of the genus.

The herpetofauna is closely related to its environment. To know how this relationship takes place is necessary for developing conservation strategies, especially when taking into account that it’s a group of great importance for ecosystems and high richness in Mexico, but strongly threatened. The present work evaluated the diversity, composition, and niche breadth and overlap regarding microhabitat use in two herpetofaunal communities in different types of vegetation –pine-oak forest (BPE) and tropical deciduous forest (BTC) – in a section of the Biosphere Reserve Sierra Gorda de Guanajuato (RBSGG), located in the biologically best-conserved area of the state. Diurnal and nocturnal transects of 300 m in length were sampled for one year. 36 species were registered, of which 80.55 % affronts conservation threats. A greater diversity was estimated with Hill numbers for BPE, and the similarity between com- munities was low. Species niche breadth was low, while overlap between species pairs showed a wider range of values. This work is one of the first herpetological studies that employs the extrapolation of the first three Hill numbers to compare communities between types of vegetation in Mexico, as well as the first with and ecological aim for the RBSGG. The results obtained could serve as a resource for further
research and for the conservation of the herpetofauna of Guanajuato.
