The complete mitochondrial genome of the Asian river pipefish Doryichthys boaja was sequenced. The mitochondrial genome is a circular molecule of 16,439 bp in length, containing 37 mitochondrial genes and a control region. The base composition is 31.03% A, 24.22% C, 14.44% G, and 30.32% T, with an A + T content of 61.35%. All PCGs were initiated by...

The pale summer sedge caddisfly, Limnephilus hyalinus Hagen, 1861 (Limnephilidae, the Northern Caddisflies), is widespread in North America. Genome skimming by Illumina sequencing allowed assembly of a complete 15,168 bp circular mitogenome from L. hyalinus consisting of 78.0% AT nucleotides, 22 tRNAs, 13 protein-coding genes, two rRNAs and a contr...

The complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Acanthaspis cincticrus is described in this study. The sequenced mitogenome is a typical circular DNA molecule of 15,686 bp, containing 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes and a control region. All protein-coding genes initiate with ATN as the start codon and terminate with TAA codo...

The mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) can provide information for phylogenetic analyses and evolutionary biology. We first sequenced, annotated, and characterized the mitogenome of Philomycus bilineatus in this study. The complete mitogenome was 14,347 bp in length, containing 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 23 transfer RNA genes, two ribosomal RNA...

The endemic Madagascar banded commodore butterfly Precis andremiaja Boisduval, 1833 (Nymphalidae) inhabits forest margins and disturbed habitats. Genome skimming by Illumina sequenc-ing allowed the assembly of a complete circular mitogenome of 15,239 bp from P. andremiaja consisting of 80.2% AT nucleotides, 22 tRNAs, 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA...

The Madagascar mother-of-pearl (Salamis anteva) is a leaf-mimicking butterfly endemic to forests in southern Madagascar. Genome skimming by Illumina sequencing permitted assembly of a complete S. anteva circular mitogenome of 15,201 bp consisting of 80.6% AT nucleotides and with an arrangement of 22 tRNAs, 13 protein-coding genes, two rRNAs and a c...

Xenocypris fangi Tchang (1930) is an endemic species in China, which is mainly distributed in the Jialing River and its tributaries. In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome was sequenced. Its length is 16,619 bp, containing 22 tRNAs, 2 rRNAs, and 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs). The mitochondrial genome has common characteristics with other teleosts in the genetic arrangement. The phylogenetic tree shows that X. fangi is closely related to Distoechodon tumirostris.

The complete mitogenome sequence of Sinogastromyzon szechuanensis was obtained using next generation sequencing and confirmed via overlap-PCR method. The genome was 16,565 bp in length and consisted of 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 2 ribosomal RNA genes, 23 transfer RNA genes and 1 control region. The overall nucleotide composition of heavy strand was 30.38% A (5033), 16.62% G (2753), 25.25% T (4182) and 27.75 (4597), with a slight A–T skew (55.63%), which is most obvious in the D-loop and most transfer RNA genes. Mitochondrial genome analyses based on ML analyses yielded identical phylogenetic trees.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Solegnathus hardwickii was determined to be 16,519 bp long circular molecule with a typical gene arrangement of vertebrate mitochondrial. The complete mitochondrial genomes were obtained by conventional and long PCR. Tree constructed using maximum likelihood based on protein-coding genes and ribosomal RNAs showed close relationship of S. hardwickii with Hippocampus spp. © 2018, © 2018 The Author(s).
