This is the collection of proceedings of the Ist International Colloquium (2011) dedicated to Makarius III Ibn al-Za'im, Patriarch of Antioch (1647-1672) and his son, Archdeacon Paul of Aleppo (d. 1668), who wrote a rich account of their travels in Syria, Constantinople, Moldavia, Wallachia, Ukraine and Russia in 1652-1659.
