Encrypted computing is an emerging approach to security for user data against the operating system and other powerful insiders in a computing system. It is based on a processor that 'works encrypted', taking encrypted inputs to encrypted outputs while the data remains in encrypted form throughout. An appropriate machine code instruction set is requ...

Cloud computing is becoming an essential tool in lowering Information Technology (IT) costs amongst Small, Medium and Micro-sized Enterprises (SMMEs). As such amongst a myriad of challenges, SMMEs are faced with a general lack of resource capability including the lack of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure and skills. This further disables the SMMEs ability to compete with big business and industry peers. As such cloud computing offers SMMEs the ability to access high level ICT services either through SaaS (Software-as-a-Service), PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) or IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) service delivery models. Cloud computing adoption amongst SMMEs is relevant in the sense that SMMEs can realise the full benefits of reduced capital expenditure, improved access to ICT systems, heightened security of data and low costs for agile development amongst a myriad of cloud computing benefits. The overall intention is to ensure that SMMEs always have access to updated ICT services through the cloud, without having the burden of maintaining ICT infrastructure in-house. Based on this interpretation, this study analysed factors affecting cloud computing adoption amongst SMMEs, by use of a Conceptual Research Model based on the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework. This was informed by a survey distributed to SMMEs within the Ngaka Modiri Molema and Bojanala Platinum Districts of the North West Province. The results of this study will assist SMMEs to make informed decisions on adopting cloud computing practices in their organisations.
... Users of cloud services access their data and the applications that they need as long as they have access to the internet; they do not need to store their data on their computer and to install any application that they use. Accordingly, cloud services eliminate the risks originated from hardware failures or breakages (Chovancová, Vokorokos, and Chovanec, 2015). ...
... these architectures to optimize the cost and the control and create a hybrid solution, which is named as "hybrid cloud" (Marston et al., 2011;Chovancová, Vokorokos, and Chovanec, 2015). Thus, the cost of cloud-based solutions decreases for companies as long as they are open to using shared resources. ...

Advancements in technology, especially ICTs, has caused a revolutionary change in every aspect of life. The reflection of these advancements on manufacturing industry is named “The Industrial Internet,” or “Industry 4.0.” New generation factories are to be equipped with cyber-physical systems. Teams integrating physical industrial components, and advanced modern sensing and networking technologies to form new smart systems. These systems will have more capabilities than the systems which are already in use. These winds of change will also affect projects and project management. Clearly, success in agile project management will become more crucial. At this point, technologies enabling Industry 4.0 will help project managers. Project organizations have the flexibility to get adapted to new situations fast. In this chapter, benefits of the technologies enabling Industry 4.0 in project management are introduced.
... This is a great disadvantage in case of low-cost programming, even though it offers many possibilities. Nevertheless, we will demonstrate low-cost sensor utilization in LabVIEW as an alternative way of program development for industrial, or robotics applications, aimed mainly at small and medium enterprises [33] and for Smart Cities. The trial version and student license are free; however, the LabVIEW 2016 for Analysing and Signal Processing version costs more than 3500 € 13 . ...

The article investigates systems, which represent a modern and popular approach to Virtual Reality and controlling systems. We would like to focus on low-cost motion sensors used in applications which are oriented on object tracking and gesture recognition. There are various types of sensors. Some of them measure the infrared light reflected from the opposing surface, previously emitted by the device in to gather information about any movement in the observed environment. Another way how to recognize not only a moving object present in the environment, but also its gestures and further characteristics of the movement is to use the Kinect. Therefore, we included Kinect also in our research. There is also a sensoric device called Leap Motion, which is specially developed to analyze gestures of human hands and track their motion with very high accuracy. We will provide pros and cons of every mentioned type of sensors or sensoric devices. Our aim is to summarize specific characteristics of mentioned devices to evaluate their ability to be beneficial in the recently very intensively expanding IoT sector. Considering new trends, we decided to focus on low cost sensors in to make our research more relevant also for small businesses and start-ups whose initiative leads to further development of sensoric soloutions and involving them in IoT. We decided to include also Myo Armband. It uses eight electromyography sensors, combined with a gyroscope and an accelerometer to sense electrical activity produced by the muscles of the forearm. Of the multiple programming environments available, we decided to compare and evaluate three programming engines most frequently used for programming applications processing sensoric data. For gaming purposes, the Unreal and Unity 3D engines are the most frequent. For robotics, medicine or for industrial purposes usually LabVIEW is the best choice. In this, we compare the aforementioned three programming environments using different algorithms, utilizing the three motion controllers, and we discuss their (dis)advantages and programming perspectives. © 2018, Budapest Tech Polytechnical Institution. Cloud computing provides services that allocate infrastructure resources using the Internet as a medium and data storage on an external server. Small and medium corporations are the foundation of any flourishing economy for a growing nation which seeks new and innovative methods to reduce the way they manage their resources. Over a couple of decades, Information technology (IT) has created a significant impact in improving the lives of people and alsoon the global economy due to tremendous digital transformation. With the growth of the Small and medium corporations, IT is creating some real impact in enabling these industries to undergo adigital transformation of their business processes while they continue to grow. Small and medium enterprises (SME’s) are usually identified as the dominant force for the growth of any country's economy. In the cloud computing environment, the SME's need not have the in-house infrastructure so they can give up on any initial expenditure for setting up and instead they can utilize the resources available on the cloud and pay as per their requirement and usage. This paper presents the results of a comprehensive interpretation to research some of the most commonly used SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) implementations in the domain of Cloud Computing firstly to identify the weaknesses of the traditional computing approach for SME’s, and secondly to identify the aspects of these weaknesses that can be overcome by implementing cloud computing. In this paper, we provided the overview of various cloud computing models and literature survey of these models. This study extends to create an own cloud computing system for small and medium corporations. We will be using Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) approach and see how small and medium corporations can leverage on this for their business operations.

Nowadays, a large number of groups choose to deploy their applications to cloud platforms, especially for the big data era. Currently, the hybrid cloud is one of the most popular computing paradigms for holding the privacy-aware applications driven by the requirements of privacy protection and cost saving. However, it is still a challenge to realize data placement considering both the energy consumption in private cloud and the cost for renting the public cloud services. In view of this challenge, a cost and energy aware data placement method, named CEDP, for privacy-aware applications over big data in hybrid cloud is proposed. Technically, formalized analysis of cost, access time, and energy consumption is conducted in the hybrid cloud environment. Then a corresponding data placement method is designed to accomplish the cost saving for renting the public cloud services and energy savings for task execution within the private cloud platforms. Experimental evaluations validate the efficiency and effectiveness of our proposed method.

The main goal of this work is to introduce sensor technologies that have an impact on modern world. There are many technologies and many different views on them. Current trends lead the entire world to work on various combinations of several technologies. This allows us to look at the world through a camera in a wide spectrum at the same time. Using IR sensor, depth camera is eligible to scan one's face or body. Modern technologies allow us to use the best features of them and reconnect them together. Ultra wide band sensor is a device used in conventional radio communication technologies what is similar to ultrasound but does not see any obstacles.
