The goal of this chapter is to analyze the impact of e-learning technologies and tools as a support for teacher-led courses
in the performance (efficiency) of teaching as well as in the learner’s acceptance. It also aims at analyzing and determining
the moderating factors which have an influence on the process. The paper is based on the data which...

It has to be mentioned that for our purposes the utilisation of electronic learning tools was an independent variable while teaching excellence (student satisfaction) and teaching efficiency measuring learning indirectly were dependent variables. ...Similar publications
In mechanical drawing class, it is a problem that a lecturer has students get a wide range of knowledge and skills in a class whose time and place are limited in a semester. The situation surrounding the classes has led to insufficient understanding of students. Accordingly, it has been desired to reveal an effective learning method in mechanical d...
Time has been argued by several influential approaches as essential for understanding learning and teaching processes. In e-learning, however, the traditional time limits of such processes are modified, which implies challenges and possibilities for e-learning research. This paper is aimed at understanding how time is included in empirical e-learni...

The introduction of competition has the potential to enhance the efficacy of students' learning performance. Nevertheless, there have been contradictory findings about the impact of intergroup competition on students' learning performance and engagement. Therefore, further comprehensive investigations for this problem are necessary. In order to bridge this gap, the present study seeks to ascertain the efficacy of intergroup competition in relation to students' academic performance and motivation. Consequently, we present the concept of intergroup competition and implement it within the context of an online programming course and an online Chinese-English translation course. The participants of this study consist of sophomore students majoring in Computer Science and English. Initially, a total of 108 sophomore students majoring in Computer Science participated. Then, a total of 100 sophomore students majoring in English participated. A quasi-experimental study was subsequently undertaken to compare students from two courses, which are online programming and Chinese-English translation, assigning them to an experimental group and a comparison group, respectively. Then, we conducted independent samples t-tests to measure the difference between the academic performance of the two group of students from two courses. The results indicate that both groups of students who were exposed to the intergroup competition mechanism demonstrated considerably higher levels of academic performance and engagement compared to the other group of students. The findings indicate that the competition mechanism, has the potential to be a beneficial instrument for enhancing both students' learning performance and motivation.
... In contrast, the traditional teaching methods of literature majors are outdated and in urgent need of transformation. Although many researchers are paying attention to the innovation of teaching methods in the information age, how to effectively combine the means of information with the teaching of literature majors is still an unsolved problem (Ramesh, Tan & Sidhu, 2002;Albors-Garrigos, Segarra-Oña & Ramos-Carrasco, 2011). ...
In view of the current situation that it’s imperative for literature majors in colleges and universities to undergo reforms, this paper studies the innovation of teaching methods of literature majors under the conditions of informationization. First of all, it analyzes the problems of current literature teaching; then, information technologies that can be used at the present stage of higher education are listed; at last, it proposes a series of innovation methods for literature major teaching based on higher education informatization, and some students from the Chinese Language and Literature major of a college are taken as examples to conduct an empirical study. A comparative analysis of the learning effects of college students of different grades shows the effectiveness of the teaching innovation methods proposed in this paper. The research results of this paper not only propose new teaching methods, but also provide a useful reference for the transformation of the current development concept of higher education.
This chapter explores the issue of e-learning as a helpful method in higher education institutes and universities in general, and specifically, in the field of social work education. It is based on a study carried out at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman and presents knowledge and attitudes of students towards reliance on the e-learning platforms, such as Moodle, as a helpful educational tool. It highlights that Moodle as an e-learning platform enhances communication between teachers and students, and among students themselves. The chapter presents the findings about the usefulness of Moodle, as an e-learning platform as well as challenges of social work students face during using e-learning platform in their learning. Finally, it offers recommendations to deal with the challenges and highlights implication of the study beyond social work education.
This paper presents employment of mobile technology in order to turn the assessment process into a more simplified and learning friendly process. It is developed a new learning and evaluation model that comprises four evaluationlearning activities: pre-tests, learning, post-tests and comparison which allows instructor to organise teaching in many different ways. The four steps for the evaluation employment by means of the new Peer Learning Assessment Software ONE2ACT are described. Conclusions for the evaluation model and testing with the software demonstrate impressions of trainees and instructors regarding technological and methodological aspects of the evaluation. The success indicators in terms of effectiveness as well as quality and completion for software employment and assessment methodology are exemplified.
