In mechanical drawing class, it is a problem that a lecturer has students get a wide range of knowledge and skills in a class whose time and place are limited in a semester. The situation surrounding the classes has led to insufficient understanding of students. Accordingly, it has been desired to reveal an effective learning method in mechanical d...

The rapid development of technology and information has influenced students' learning styles and has led to a shift in information seeking from paper books to e-books. The purpose of this study is to measure the competence of students on the ionic liquid material, including ionic liquid knowledge, attitude, and skills, as well as website knowledge. The research sample is Chemical Engineering students in a private polytechnic in Indonesia and taken through a purposive sampling technique. This website-based learning is tested on students through the experiential learning model. Data collection was carried out by filling out a Likert scale competency test at the beginning and the end of the study. The results revealed that website-based ionic liquid learning attracted the attention of students, but not all students can do it independently yet. The learning still has to be combined with lecturers' explanations as reinforcing concepts. The implications of this research are expected to be used as recommendations in enriching the Chemical Engineering education curriculum by adding website-based ionic liquid material.

Due to the simplicity of traditional surveying and mapping teaching, students have low efficiency in surveying and mapping, making it difficult to effectively reconstruct three-dimensional models through two-dimensional drawings. The existing mechanical drawing teaching system lacks in-depth research on the mapping function of 2D to 3D space. To solve this problem, based on the WebGL technical framework and combined with the needs of teachers and students, the effectiveness method of 2D to 3D cognition is proposed, which breaks through the limitations of time and space. Through three.js framework and front-end technology, a virtual surveying and mapping teaching assistant system based on WebGL technology is developed. The results show that the accuracy of the system mapping model is better than that of the actual mapping model. Model projection drawing time (t1) and model measurement time (t2) are used to compare the mapping effects of the virtual group and the real group. In the Levene variance equality test, the P values of t1 and t2 are both greater than 0.05, indicating that the difference between the two groups of squares is equal. The P-values of Levene variance equality test for projection drawing score (f1) and measurement dimensification score (f2) are also greater than 0.05. The average score of the virtual group is higher than that of the real group, with an average satisfaction score of 1.16 points higher. In the future, the drawing calling function will be added on the basis of the part assisted drawing system to realize the intelligent generation and management of engineering teaching drawing. This research not only improves the teaching efficiency, but also realizes innovation and breakthrough in the application of 2D to 3D mapping function, showing its superiority in the teaching of mechanical drawing.

The Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction or ARCS model is an effective motivational model that has been widely accepted by education practitioners. Literature on the ARCS model has focused primarily on aspects of educational settings, research methods, and outcomes. However, few studies have addressed the applications of the ARCS model based on its role in educational research. This review study investigates what and how the ARCS model has been adopted in existing literature from 2011 to 2022. 55 empirical studies were identified and analyzed in three dimensions: instructional design, theoretical foundation, and measurement tools. The instructional design sums up pedagogical approaches, learning outcomes, and effects of the ARCS model. The theoretical framework outlines the roles and other theoretical frameworks integrated with the ARCS model. The measurement tools report versions and reliability of the Instruction Materials Motivation Survey (IMMS). This study contributes to strengthening our understanding of the ARCS model applied in the three dimensions. Lastly, a set of limitations and recommendations for future research are summarized.
