    With the current onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic, higher education institutions in most countries have shifted from the traditional to online mode of delivery. This study reports the findings of a survey examining the online teaching experiences of faculty members in HEIs and how the pandemic impacted the faculty work within the higher education setting. Participants consisted of selected faculty members from a local college in the City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. Findings reveal that there were various techniques and preparations employed by the faculty members in order to conduct an effective and efficient remote and online learning experience for their students. Remote online learning also offers faculty members more options for engaging instructional activities. It allows them to be more resourceful considering that they cannot meet in person with their students as with the traditional teaching mode. Despite the constraints and restrictions in conducting classes online, such as poor internet service, restricted contact between teachers and students, to name a few, most of the respondents, nevertheless, assessed themselves to be still efficient and effective as teachers.

    Site visits are a key pedagogical tool within natural science and geographical education. Site visits provide an interactive experience to enable learning through the exposure to a real-world spatio-temporal environment. COVID-19 restrictions required the development of a virtual site visit for a landscape ecology course in North America. In this study, a series of digital tools were coordinated to deliver site visit information focusing on multi-sensory, multi-scalar, and multi-media information based on Kolb’s experiential learning model, particularly Step 1, the concrete experience. This research explored student’s perceptions and opinions of the digital tools provided to complete their ecological restoration management assignment and their effectiveness and usability. 4th year natural resource and environmental science students (n=52) reported predominately positive attitudes towards the use of the virtual site visit. Though students did not prefer the virtual site visit over a physical site visit, they noted that the virtual site visit digital tools did provide the same information as a site visit and that they felt they were able to understand all aspects of the physical site through the virtual site visit tools provided, particularly through the digital photographs and the 360-degree virtual reality imagery. Successful student assignments illustrated experiential learning outcomes were met.

    Understanding integers is critical for further learning in mathematics. However, most students have difficulty understanding integers, especially how to apply sign rules. This study adopted a mixed-method and action research approach to investigate the impact of a virtual manipulative tool (Gizmos) on students’ performance in addition and subtraction of integers. It also explored students’ perceptions of the Gizmos-based intervention. A multistage sampling was used to select 44 year 9 students in one of the secondary schools in Brunei, who were subjected to a Gizmos-based lesson intervention on addition and subtraction of integers. Data were collected through pre-test, post-test, and interviews. Our paired sample t-test showed that student performance after the intervention improved significantly. The results also revealed that the Gizmos-based intervention provided an opportunity for students to play, learn, and visualize integers, enhancing their confidence, understanding, and performance. However, they found it challenging to memorize the rules during Gizmos-based lessons. Based on our results, Gizmos can be an effective tool that can help improve student performance in addition and subtraction of integers when carefully implemented. It has dynamic representative features that provide quick feedback to students when dealing with integers. It is recommended that teachers should continuously guide students to understand and apply sign rules and instructions in using Gizmos.

    This paper seeks to examine Education, ICT, Teleconferencing, Networking And E-Learning with a specific focus on of Zimbabwe. The paper was based on qualitative research techniques. Challenges faced by women in their business in Zimbabwe were closure of business, exposure to rape, violence and robbery, financial losses, drop in their revenue, reduced remittances, reduced demand of goods and services, obstacles in logistics and shipping of products, challenges of acquiring raw materials, reduced worker productivity as well as technological challenges in the form of (limited e-banking and teleconferencing opportunities, huge data costs and lack of required technology. In terms of the effects of e-learning to women and girls in accessing education in Zimbabwe it was realised that, girls and women enjoyed benefits such as to exposure to online learning, reduced walking distances, exposure to educational opportunities such as scholarships. However, there were also adverse effects and these were limited access to online learning, lack of smartphones, lack of data, non- inclusive education, reduced long distance – learning via WhatsApp exposure to uncensored online material which exposed girls to online sexual predators. Policy recommendation wise, it was suggested that there is need for increased government funding towards ICT at all levels as well as prioritisation of all marginalised women.

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih rendahnya intensi berwirausaha siswa di SMK Negeri Kabupaten Sumedang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh pembelajaran kewirausahaan terhadap intensi kewirausahaan dan variabel karakter kewirausahaan sebagai variabel mediasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survey eksplanatori dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui angket dan observasi. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI jurusan bisnis dan pemasaran sebanyak 325 siswa sedangkan sampel sebanyak 180 siswa. Data yang telah terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis data regresi linier berganda dengan analisis Sobel Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum i) intensi kewirausahaan, berada pada kategori rendah, karakter kewirausahaan, berada pada kategori sedang sedangkan pembelajaran kewirausahaan berada pada kategori tinggi. ii) Pembelajaran kewirausahaan berpengaruh terhadap intensi kewirausahaan. iii) Karakter kewirausahaan memediasi antara pengaruh pembelajaran kewirausahaan terhadap intensi berwirausaha. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa kelas XI jurusan Bisnis dan Pemasaran di Kabupaten Sumedang mempunyai intensi berwirausaha yang belum baik.

    This study is part of a framework that views study abroad programs as an opportunity for experiential and transformative learning. Using a mixed-methods approach with a quantitative multi-wave study, this research examined the relationship between cultural intelligence and the internationalism career anchor – the individual predisposition and desire for international mobility for work. This study considers the role of resilience and intercultural interactions as predictors of cultural intelligence. In addition, we examined the transformative learning process by relating the development of cultural intelligence to specific critical incidents or critical experiences in intercultural interactions that can be considered triggers of the learning process. A sample of 170 outgoing Italian Erasmus students completed a self-report questionnaire prior to departure and another upon return home. The study also included a control group (n = 52) consisting of students from the same university who had not participated in the Erasmus program. The results revealed the positive value of the Erasmus experience, particularly in terms of strengthening the internationalism career anchor, cognitive cultural intelligence and resilience. The results also showed that students’ pre-departure resilience and intercultural interactions with other international students from different countries can explain higher levels of cultural intelligence and the desire to work abroad or take on global work assignments. No significant change across time was found for the same variables in the control group. In addition, the critical experiences reported by students highlighted a strong cognitive and motivational component associated with the Erasmus program. Some practical implications for higher education are discussed.

    Despite the extant literature that discusses the potentiality of environmental identity in shaping people’s engagement with nature, there is little evidence of which specific domains of environmental attitudes and knowledge are connected with environmental identity. The present article reports on the results from two studies that were conducted within the framework of the Solomon four-group design, in four randomly selected teacher colleges (TCs) in Tanzania. Specifically, study one was an intervention with pre- and post-measurements that involved indoor and outdoor environmental programs among pre-service biology teachers in two TCs. Moreover, study two was conducted in two other selected TCs, with a post-test only. The two-Major Environmental Values (2-MEV) and a Competence Model for Environmental Education were used for measuring environmental attitudes and knowledge, respectively. Finally, environmental identity was measured using the environmental identity (EID) scale. The results revealed that preservation was positively correlated with domains of identity, while other variables demonstrated overlapping relationships in different measurement points. Moreover, notable correlations between social desirability responding with some domains of attitudes and identity were evident, whereas the age of respondents had limited associations with other variables. The article concludes by proposing the need to promote environmental attitudes (EA) and knowledge as important strategies in fostering environmental stewardship.

    Pioneers of educational theory have called for a greater emphasis on kinesthetic learning, a claim also supported by interdisciplinary embodied cognition research. This article focuses on the effectiveness of a body-based intervention designed to familiarize participants with the physics concept of impulse. We investigated whether the use of one's own body as an element of activity can help 6th graders successfully adopt adequate reasoning when answering relevant questions. The assessment procedure took the form of an interview and our conclusions demonstrated that students adopt a multimodal framework (speech, gestures, body movement) to solve problems designed to include human-centered experiences, the haptic manipulation of objects, and everyday illustrated situations. The performance of a respectable number of students shifted from a lack of insight into a scientifically accepted conceptualization. Introducing purposeful planned movement when teaching physics concepts in the early years is a valuable tool for any educator wishing to add value to his students' learning. Introduction The embodied cognition paradigm has challenged the perception that knowledge is disembodied and abstract mental representations. It argues that "cognitive processes arise from...continuous kinesthetic interactions between the brain, the body and the environment" (Thompson, 2007, p. 10) manifesting that the cognitive system is organized to support the targeted action in the environment (Robbins & Aydede, 2008). Barsalou (1999) theorized that knowledge is based on perceptual symbol systems, i.e. symbols consisting of structural elements of neural activity that arise from sensory perception. In a learning setting, this thread of research reveals that humans reuse brain structures once activated during a previous action, highlighting the presence of simulations in cognitive function (see Anderson, 2010; Decety & Grèzes, 2006). The embodied cognition paradigm also stands by the notion that mental representations of abstract concepts are formed by simulations of perceptual experiences and bodily interactions with the environment (Barsalou, 1999). This argument is also supported by the work of Lakoff and Johnson (1999), who attempted to investigate why language is to a great extent, metaphorical. In their analysis, the use of a metaphor is much more than direct speech. A metaphor reveals how people represent and reflect on abstract concepts, that is, through real interactions of the body with the world. Currently, stating that all cognition is embodied is open to debate (see Goldinger et al., 2016) and even embodied cognitivism has adopted a range of views, from the most simple (Clark, 1999) to the most radical (Kiverstein, 2012). However all approaches of embodied cognition agree that bodily experiences constitute an integral part in the construction of meaning, both for concrete and abstract concepts (Goldman, 2012).     This study was conducted so as to reveal how pre-service ELT teachers’ learning style and motivation are associated. 198 pre-service teachers enrolled in the ELT department of Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University in Turkey took part in the study. Data of the study was gathered via two research instruments that are Academic Motivation Scale and Learning Styles Inventory III. The scales were delivered to the pre-service teachers during tutorials in early first semester, Jan-Feb, 2022. Expected relationships in the hypotheses formulated were tested via Chi square test analysis in SPSS. According to the results, 4 hypotheses were confirmed; however, the second hypothesis was rejected. Therefore, the results revealed that gender differentiated motivation and learning styles of ELT student teachers. However, although year level differentiated motivation, it did not differentiate learning styles of ELT pre-service teachers. Last, motivation of ELT pre-service teachers differentiated their learning style. Results of the study are significant in terms of filling in the gap regarding the research on how motivation relates to learning styles of pre-service teachers.

    Although the literature on inclusive service learning generally reports positive outcomes for students with disabilities, it provides little insight into the process of inclusion that occurs when students with and without disabilities meet within a service-learning framework. This distinction between students with and without disabilities became less clear, especially as all students began to see that they have disabilities or that they lack something that the other has or vice versa, experience themselves without disabilities even if others have defined them that way. In this paper, we address this issue through a case study of a service-learning course that brought together students with and without disabilities. The course was based on a five-facet model for inclusive service learning that comprised theory, experiential learning, community projects, dialogue, and reflection. A qualitative analysis of the course illustrates that both students with and without disabilities experienced significant changes in perception of disability such that they no longer saw themselves as two separate groups. The paper looks at the processes that produced this change and suggests the idea of 'continuous mutual learning' (CML) as an important component in education for inclusion, arguing that CML can deepen the inclusiveness of inclusive service learning.
