Personality is one of the important psychological variables that affect an individual's emotions and
behaviors and is thought to affect the use of social media. In this context, the aim of this study is to
examine the relationship between the pre-service teachers' social media usage goals and their
personality traits. For this purpose, data were collected through a questionnaire from 256 teacher
candidates studying at the Faculty of Education of a university in the Mediterranean Region. In the
study, “Usage Purposes of Social Networks” scale was used to determine the social media usage
purposes of the participants and “Five Factor Personality Scale” was used to determine the
personality characteristics. As a result of the research; a positive relationship between extroversion
personality trait and using social media for research, collaboration and entertainment, a positive
relationship between the compatibility personality traits and using social media for research,
collaboration and content sharing was found. In addition, a positive relationship between the
personality of responsibility and the use of social media for research and collaboration; a negative
relationship between neuroticism personality trait and using social media for research and
collaboration was determined. Finally, it has been observed that there is a positive relationship
between being open to change personality traits and using social media for research, collaboration,
communication, maintaining communication, content sharing and entertainment. Considering the
findings in general, it can be said that positive personality traits affect social media sharing
positively.

This study explored the associations between Facebook addiction and personality factors. A total of 114 participants (age range of participants is 18-30 and males were 68.4% and females were 31.6 %) have participated through an online survey. The results showed that 14.91 % of the participants had reached the critical polythetic cutoff score, and 1.75 % has reached the monothetic cutoff score. The personality traits, such as extraversion, openness to experience, neuroticism, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and narcissism, are not related to Facebook addiction and Facebook intensity. Loneliness was positively related to Facebook addiction, and it significantly predicted Facebook addiction by accounting to 14% of the variation in Facebook addiction. The limitations and suggestions for further research have been discussed.

Podemos partir del hecho de que ciertos factores de personalidad están efectivamente relacionados con determinadas actividades realizadas en redes sociales como Facebook (e. g., Eftekhar, Fullwood y Morris, 2014;Yesil, 2014). El objetivo fue determinar si existe relación y en qué magnitud entre los factores de personalidad eficaz y los de adicción a las redes sociales en escolares de cuarto y quinto de secundaria. Participaron 304 escolares de dos centros educativos estatales de Lima Metropolitana de 14 a 18 años (M=15,87; DE=0,965). Los datos fueron obtenidos mediante el Cuestionario de Personalidad Eficaz (CPE) de Del Buey et al. y el Cuestionario de Adicción a las Redes Sociales (CARS) de Escurra y Salas. El análisis factorial confirmó la estructura de cuatro factores propuesta por Dapelo et al., para la adaptación chilena del CPE, mientras que en el caso del CARS se optó por una estructura de cinco factores. Se encontró diferencias significativas, aunque con tamaño de efecto nulo, entre hombres y mujeres sólo en cuatro de las cinco dimensiones del CARS. Finalmente se hallaron correlaciones negativas (más de la mitad de ellas a nivel de p<.001) entre los factores de necesidad de conexión, preponderancia y tiempo excesivo, con los cuatro factores de personalidad eficaz.

Introducción:
El nivel de riesgo de consumo se establece a partir de la exposición que tiene una persona a ciertos factores de riesgo o características individuales, familiares o sociales, que posibilitan o aumentan el consumo de sustancias psicoactivas (SPA).
Objetivo:
Este estudio tuvo como propósito relacionar el nivel de riesgo de consumo de SPA con el uso problemático de videojuegos y redes sociales, a fin de establecer su posible papel como factores de riesgo de tipo social.
Método:
Se realizó un estudio de tipo cuantitativo con un diseño no experimental transversal de alcance descriptivo correlacional con la participación de 736 estudiantes. Se emplearon como instrumentos de recolección de datos el cuestionario sociodemográfico, prueba de tamizaje ASSIST 3,1, cuestionario de adicción a redes sociales - ARS y el cuestionario de Experiencias Relacionadas con los Videojuegos - CERV.
Resultados:
Algunos resultados sugieren mayor exposición al consumo de sustancias alcohólicas, derivados del tabaco, del cannabis y mayores niveles en el uso problemático de redes sociales y videojuegos.
Conclusiones:
A partir de lo hallado, las evidencias apuntan a que el aumento de riesgo no depende de la tipología familiar, al contrario de lo que pasa con el sexo, a su vez el consumo de tabaco, alcohol, cocaína, inhalantes, sedantes y opiáceos dependen de variaciones.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between individual difference factors and various Facebook-related variables, such as the frequency and purpose with which university students use Facebook, the number of their Facebook friends, how frequently they update their status, with whom they share their profiles, and who they add as friends. We do so using a large sample (N = 492) of university students in Turkey. Using measures of self-esteem, narcissism, the purpose of Facebook use and the Big Five, we observe significant relationships between these individual differences and Facebook-related variables. Our findings provide limited support to theories suggesting that those with low self-esteem and high narcissism can use Facebook to compensate for or regulate their self-image, and indicate the importance of individual differences for shaping how Turkish university students use Facebook.
Hemen her toplumda bireyin sosyal ve psikolojik yaşamı üzerinde en büyük etkiye sahip olan kurum, ailedir. Aile kurumu geçmişten bugüne, gerek dünyada gerekse de Türkiye'de oluşan dönemsel koşullara paralel değişimler geçirmiştir ve geçirmeye de devam etmektedir. Bireyin neredeyse tüm serbest zamanını kuşatan medya teknolojileri, aile serbest zamanlarında da kendine önemli bir yer edinerek hem evleri hem de aile bireylerinin birbirleriyle olan iletişimlerini önemli ölçüde biçimlendirmektedir. Bugünün oturma odası, aile üyelerinin hep birlikte oturduğu ancak kiminin televizyondaki diziler içerisinde kaybolduğu, kiminin akıllı telefonu ile dış dünyaya bağlandığı, kiminin ise bilgisayarı aracılığı ile yapılması gereken işlerini yerine getirdiği bir ortama sahne olmaktadır.
Gerek eşler arasındaki gerekse de ebeveynler ile çocukları arasındaki ilişkiler de bu durumdan doğal olarak etkilenmekte; sonuç olarak modernleşmeden itibaren sosyal ve psikolojik anlamda ayakta kalma mücadelesi veren her bireyin, bu konuda en büyük desteği alabileceği aile kurumu zarar görmektedir. Günümüzde neredeyse tüm dünyada görülen bu sorun ile ilgili geniş kapsamlı bir eleştirel literatüre yer verilen bu kitapta, aynı zamanda ev içi aile serbest zamanlarında medya kullanımı ile ilgili Türkiye’den ailelerle yapılan ve konu ile ilgili birçok çarpıcı detaya dikkat çeken görüşmeler yer almaktadır.
