... then, to give established or traditional music education a strong voice, I met with Richard Gill and considered what music education could bring to every child's life if it were taught by an expert at elementary or primary-school level. We could possibly consider Richard's idea a "prevention" to the music drop-out problem, and Hein's idea as a "cure" without necessarily suggesting that one is right and one is wrong (Figure 3).
