Total Quality Management (TQM) has an important role in any company, since its implementation can continuously improve company's performance. Higher quality service as a strategy for achieving competitive advantage has become a strategic imperative for organizations and senior managements around the world. Hence, the aim of this study was to investigate total quality management as a tool for competitive advantage in Nigerian construction industry. The conceptual framework focuses on total quality management as an independent variable and competitive advantage as dependent variable and examine the effect of total quality management on the three constructs of competitive advantage, which include Profit, Market Share and Quality Service. Primary data with the aid of a structured questionnaire was used to elicit information from respondents. The data collected were analyzed using both descriptive such as percentages, mean and standard deviation and inferential statistics of regression analysis using ordinary least square techniques (OLS) to test the hypotheses. The findings revealed that there is a positive and significant relationship between implementation of TQM and profitability, market shares and quality service. A unit increase in total quality management will lead to 1.764478 increase in the profitability, 2.911140 increase in the market share and 3.077131 increase in the quality of service of the project on the average. In conclusion, all construction firms who value profitability, effectiveness, sustainable growth and development as well as continued existence and relevance must adopt TQM as an improvement and competitive tool.

... Presently, logistics systems are connected with a wide variety of information technology enabling us to quickly respond to sales and control inventory storage well. Any business that has a good transportation system or logistics will result in advantages over competitors as well as customers' satisfaction (Sakhapov et al., 2018;Chaghooshi et al., 2015). Logistics management is an integral part of a supply chain process that can help planning; supporting; efficiently controlling the flow of raw materials and goods; and holding storage of the products, services, and anything related to information from the beginning to the end to meet the needs of customers (Council of Supply Chain Management Professional, 2020). ...

The world is moving towards a environmental restricted scenario where excellence and growth in business is contingent upon good governance and excellent green sustainability related policies, strategies and long-term values to stay ahead in competition. Green supply chain management (GSCM) practices play an essential role in shaping the way of offering environmental sustainable products and services to customers. Existing research insists that multiple pressure push organizations to navigate towards ‘eco design’, ‘green purchasing’ and ‘cooperation with customers’ leading to green supply chain management. But how these factors exactly impact the organisational performance based on green supply chain management is being explored in this research. Hypothesis developed is tested by using multivariate canonical correlation analysis to model the regression relationship of 54 manufacturing organizations. Green purchasing and eco-design are the main contributors of GSCM’s organisational performance. Cooperation with customer as major roadblock for organisational’s performance and requires management, to ponder over for improved results. The findings coincide with published research articles that were conducted in developing countries, such as Brazil and Jordan, to ensure environmental sustainability with the integration of GSCM practices.
... From the point of view of mathematical modeling, several researchers have developed quantitative SCQM models by applying both descriptive and rule-based techniques. Through a literature review in the databases Science Direct, IEEE, Springer, Taylor & Francis and Emerald, we found some recent works on descriptive SCQM models by applying statistical analysis techniques like confirmatory factor analysis [14], [15], structural equations [16], [17], correlation analysis [18]- [20] and Analytic Hierarchy Process [21]. Regarding the rule-based SCQM models, the main contributions are based on application of dynamical equations [22]- [30], agent-based modeling [31]- [34], network-based modeling [35], [36] and Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCMs) [37]. ...

Supply Chain Quality Management (SCQM) modeling is one of the main research avenues in both academic and practitioner fields. Therefore, a SCQM model using a Multi-Layer Fuzzy Cognitive Map (ML-FCM) is developed in this paper. The ML-FCM model developed in this work allows expanding and decomposing SCQM concepts by grouping them as Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCMs) in multi-layers. The model was applied in a three-echelon supply chain in the sector of personal care products. The model construction and its capacity to represent the studied problem are analyzed through density and strength metrics. The inference process results validated the initial selection of the concepts in every FCM and allowed to quantify the effect of each echelon on SCQM performance. The most important decision making variables for SCQM improvement in the studied supply chain were total profit, quality costs, suppliers rejections and returns, productivity, and customer rejections and returns.

The study aimed to investigating the impact of Intellectual Capital on competitive Advantage at Jordanian Commercial Banks. This study used descriptive as well as cause/effect. Data collected from Jordanian Commercial Banks (13 banks) by means of questionnaire during March 2018. The questionnaire was distributed to 300 out of 366 managers and supervisors, only 290 questionnaires were obtained, and just 281 were suitable for further analysis. After confirming normality, validity, and reliability of the tool, correlation between variables was conducted, and then hypothesis was tested by using multiple regressions. The results show that both companies are highly implementing IC and competitive advantages variables, and there are strong relationships between IC and competitive advantages variables. The results of multiple regressions show that there is a significant impact of IC on competitive advantage at Jordanian Commercial Banks. The results also show that human capital, relational capital and structural capital have positive significant impact on competitive advantage at Jordanian Commercial Banks. Finally, the study recommends further testing of hypothesis on same industry in other countries, especially Arab countries and other industries to test the validity of results.

This study examines the impact of TQM and product innovation on competitive advantage. Correlation coefficient and regression analysis are used to examine the relationship between TQM, product innovation, and competitive advantage. The study is followed by a quantitative approach, and the sample of the study is drawn from the manufacturing and service industries located in the Sohar city of Oman. A total of 131 samples was analyzed to judge the hypotheses. The empirical results of this study confirm that TQM and product innovation are both significantly correlated to competitive advantage. Thus, to remain competitive in the marketplace, the management of organizations should give high priority to these influential factors. This empirical study is considered the first study investigating the impact of TQM and product innovation on competitive advantage, adding great value to existing literature from the perspective of Oman.
