Products with new features need to be introduced on the market in a rapid pace and organizations need to speed up their development process. The ordinary way to develop products, one at a time, is not time efficient enough and is costly. Reuse has been suggested as a solution, but to achieve effective reuse within an organization a planned and proa...

A wireless mesh network (WMN) consists of numerous mesh nodes. It provides effective wireless internet connectivity due to efficient network architecture where mobile end users are connected wirelessly, and higher levels are wired to avoid energy constraints, node failure, and other related issues. WMN functions efficiently in providing seamless internet access but is highly susceptible to security issues such as attack and validation failure. In Literature, there are very few works which address the attacks on both the mesh client and AP while providing authentication. This paper extends the existing work and develops a security architecture for authentication and attack detection in (SAAAD) WMN. It provides authentication through trusted routers and detect the cloned AP attack and internal attacks. Cloned AP attacks are detected by the gateways through checking the information of new joining AP against the AP database. Internal attacks are detected by the gateways using the opinions collected from mesh routers and directly observed trust values. Simulation results show that SAAAD provides better detection accuracy by reducing the computational and communication overheads.

In industrial fabric productions, automated real time systems are needed to find out the minor defects. It will save the cost by not transporting defected products and also would help in making compmay image of quality fabrics by sending out only undefected products. A real time fabric defect detection system (FDDS), implementd on an embedded DSP platform is presented here. Textural features of fabric image are extracted based on gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM). A sliding window technique is used for defect detection where window moves over the whole image computing a textural energy from the GLCM of the fabric image. The energy values are compared to a reference and the deviations beyond a threshold are reported as defects and also visually represented by a window. The implementation is carried out on a TI TMS320DM642 platform and programmed using code composer studio software. The real time output of this implementation was shown on a monitor.

A clinical decision support (CDS) service reduces errors in healthcare services and improves the quality and efficiency of healthcare by providing appropriate recommendations or alerts when needed. Owing to these advantages, the attempts to build a CDS service for each hospital, and for each ward in the hospital are increasing. In order to efficiently build multiple CDS systems, it is necessary to develop them into a CDS product line rather than a single CDS. That is, an architecture that can accommodate the variability of a CDS service to easily reflect the different requirements that need to be created. In this study, we designed an architecture that can support the building of a product line that addresses falls, which is the main management subject of each hospital, by applying an architecture-based design (ABD) technique. The applicability of the product line architecture was verified by additionally constructing CDS services to prevent falls in other hospitals based on the proposed architecture.

Product line engineering a very new engineering method evolved in few past years has proven a very best technique of producing products at rapid way using the concept Reuse of assets, artifacts, and components. Software Product Lines and Software Architectures combined to form a Product Line Architecture (PLA). Many researchers have work on PLA producing different views and experiences. Architectural smells a way of accessing the PLAs, means the identification of bad smells in context of architectures formed using product line. 'Why these smells occur' is briefly described and also identification has also been shown using analytical and manual analysis. These smells can be remedied but the process is too large to follow, though small systems can be easily remedied or re-factored using various techniques. Architectural smells are remedied by changing the structure and the behaviors of the internal system elements without changing the external behavior of the system. This paper describes MobileMedia Feature Model creation, Component Model creation as PLA for the assessment of Bad smells.

Fabric defect detection has been an active area of research since a long time and still a robust system is needed which can fulfill industrial requirements. A robust automatic fabric defect detection system (FDDS) would results in quality products and more revenues. Many different approaches and method have been tried to implement FDDS. Most of them are based on two approaches, one is statistical like gray level co-occurrence (GLCM) and other is transform based like Gabor filter. This paper presents a new scheme for automated FDDS implementation using GLCM and also compare it with Gabor filter approach. GLCM texture statistics are extracted and plotted against the inter-pixel distance of GLCM as signal graph. The non-defective fabric image information is compared with the test fabric image. In Gabor filter based approach, a bank of Gabor filter with different scales and orientations is generated and fabric images are filtered with convolution mask. The generated magnitude responses are compared for defect decision. In our implementation of both approaches in same environment, the GLCM approach produces higher defect detection accuracies than Gabor filter approach and more computationally efficient.
