The educational and social life of adolescents has been transformed in the last one and a half years, due to the global pandemic COVID-19. In order, to control, the expansion of this virus during the second wave (Feb.-August 2021), as it is a severe acute respiratory syndrome with modified features, all the educational institutions had been closed and even board examinations of central as well as state boards were cancelled. Students were forced to stay at home and classes were organised through online mode. Now adolescents, spend most of their time with their smartphones for attending their online classes as well as during their leisure time for socialising with their peers. The specific objective of the study is to examine the leisure time activities of adolescents during the second wave. The study is a cross-cultural study of 460 adolescents in the age group of (16-18) years studying in senior secondary class (Grade XII th) in South Asian countries; India, Maldives, and Bhutan. The study has used tools such as Leisure Interest Measure (LIM by Ragheb and Beard, 1992) and a structured key information schedule designed for studying smartphone usage patterns (SPUP) for collecting information. AMOS 23, NVivo 12 and other statistical packages have been used for analysing the data, to test the model designed for studying leisure time activities and their effects. The results of the study focus on digital leisure and the health problems associated with it. The findings of the study will be helpful in policy formulation related to adolescents' technology usage and the effective use of their leisure time The study concluded that excess use of technology either for educational or any other purpose has a bad impact on the psycho-physiological health of adolescents and it requires serious attention.

India has the largest concentration of tribal population of the world with 8.6 per cent population (2011). Gond is the largest tribe in India and most of its concentration is in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Telangana and Jharkhand. As most of the population of Chhattisgarh are tribes (30.6 per cent, 2011), popularly called a tribal state. Gond tribes are mostly concentrated in the southern part of the Bastar region, in seven districts and village Mangalnaar comes under district Bijapur. The Gond tribes are known as Maria and Muriya in Bastar region. Majority of the population of Mangalnaar village are Gonds followed by Yadav. Some of the Gond families have got converted to Christian. The study is based on personal observations, interviews and collecting information about livelihood sources of Gond community, how much they collect and earn from it. Most of them are dependent on traditional sources of livelihood like forest and forest-based products

Leisure-time is a free or spare time, which provides someone to do something of their interest apart from their normal working/ educational life. During pandemic COVID-19, as classes are off, it is observed that adolescents like to spend most of their leisure time in non-scholastic pursuits, for which they opted digital technology; they specifically spend most of their time on online social networks sites (SNS) rather than using time in productive works. The importance of the study is to explore the untouched facts related to digital technology as a mode of leisure activities. Two-stage stratified sampling was used; firstly on a geographical lbasis and secondly on a demographic profile. The proposed study had selected, 460 adolescents, studying in Grade XII in the age-group of 16-19 years; who were defined as 'Net Generation' from India and Bhutan. Leisure Interest Measure (LIM) and Structure questionnaire called Smart Phone Usage Pattern (SPUP) had been used for data collection. The study used SPSS21, AMOS 23, and other related statistics for analysing the data. The results revealed the fact that adolescents boys were more involved in online activities rather than girls and Indian adolescents were facing severe health problems in comparison to Bhutanese as they were less involved in online activities. The study suggested that there should be a balance in activities performs in daily life by screenagers otherwise digital technology as a mediator becomes distemper and it will hamper their life. The study will help the academicians to secure their attention towards the planning of leisure-time activities of the adolescents so that it can be utilised in a productive manner which will help in improving the results of the institutions.
