This article draws on research to evaluate the skills and traits required to be a successful music entrepreneur and Canadian musician in the face of digitalization. Theoretical and empirical studies emphasize entrepreneurship in every career. Researchers found that successful businessmen had unique skills that helped them achieve their goals faster. Creativity, timing, resource management, and opportunity awareness are connected to career success. This research explores academic entrepreneurs’ best practices. Entrepreneurship is varied; therefore, the study found comparable effects and distinct conflict causes. Comparing general commercial success determinants to the skills musicians need to succeed in Canada and abroad generated four surprising findings: 1. Musicians require entrepreneurial skills. Musicians need skills to succeed and make money. 2. To capitalize on music industry digitalization, Canadian artists must strengthen their business skills. 3. Canadian artists need digital distribution and copyright skills to succeed in the internet era. 4. Entrepreneurship may be taught. Empirical research shows that entrepreneurs can learn better via experience than didactic training. These findings should support earlier research and assist policymakers develop “industry-specific” entrepreneurship tools for Canadian music practitioners.
... For instance, in their study entitled "Future entrepreneurs design a way: supporting product innovation with a design thinking approach in a children's extracurricular sewing programme", Botha et al. (2020) conducted this investigation in response to a real-life problem in a children's extracurricular sewing programme offered for one year to improve children's technical sewing skill. Purpose – This study aims to examine how couplepreneurs foster an entrepreneurial mindset in their kids. Design/methodology/approach – A qualitative research approach with semi-structured interviews
was used as the data collection technique. Narrative analysis was conducted on a sample of 20 couplepreneurs in Mthatha, South Africa. Findings – Narratives of how couplepreneurs foster an entrepreneurial mindset in their kids included purchasing toys and games for kids that encourage entrepreneurship; competition and team activities among kids that are related to entrepreneurship; the piggy bank; encouraging kids to read entrepreneurial books; and
kid entrepreneur showcases. Research limitations/implications – Sample size challenges are a notable limitation, including
research being conducted in only one province of South Africa. Caution is advised when attempting to generalise the results to other contexts. Practical implications – Understanding the strategies used by couplepreneurs to instil an entrepreneurial mindset in children can help parents to influence and encourage their children’s
entrepreneurial growth, resulting in more creative and innovative people who make a positive contribution to society, economy and the community. Originality/value – While there is a body of literature on couple entrepreneurship, there are shortcomings in studies examining how coupleprenuers in African countries instil an entrepreneurial mindset in their children. As a result, this study aims to complement the current corpus of African literature on entrepreneurship, particularly in the context of South Africa.

Entrepreneurship, through successful business venturing, plays a pivotal role in a nation’s endeavor to create jobs and boost the economy. The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) reports state that South Africa’s early stage total entrepreneurial activity (TEA) is lower than most countries that are at comparable levels of development. Therefore, the entrepreneurial mindset of high school learners and its influence on self-employment intention were assessed in this study. Also, the moderating effect of family business ownership on the relationship was measured. The data collected from 320 learners in randomly selected 10 high schools in Gauteng were analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis. The study finds that the level of an entrepreneurial mindset is above average, which provides the potential for a higher total entrepreneurial activity (TEA) in the future. Both entrepreneurial skills and entrepreneurial traits significantly influence self-employment intention, while learners’ family business background moderates the relationship. The study establishes the entrepreneurial mindset level of high school students in a country with one of the lowest TEA in the world, South Africa, where (possibly) the latest entrepreneurial mindset measure, the Entrepreneurial Mindset Profile (EMP) instrument is used. Also, it’s unique in testing the role of family business background in intensifying the entrepreneurial mindset toward self-employment intention. Therefore, the Department of Basic Education should aim to tap into the existing desire in high school learners and develop a curriculum that integrates theoretical and experiential learning. It is expected that this intervention will improve the future TEA of the country.

The topic of consumer engagement has been gaining the attention of both academics and practitioners. This is because of the outcomes associated with consumer engagement such as increased sales, enhanced competitive advantage, consumer loyalty, and the development of mutual beneficial relationships between organisations and consumers. However, in the field of participant sports, there still lacks research on consumer engagement. The paper seeks to fill that gap by developing a conceptual model on consumer engagement in participant sports. The model provides a complete understanding of the process of consumer engagement in participant sports. The model highlights that sport participation motivation is the antecedent of consumer engagement (such as mastery and weight), sport participants engage on three dimensions (cognitive, emotional, and behavioural), and the outcomes of consumer engagement are word-of-mouth and re-participation intention. The model has implications for participant sport managers. The model provides a better understanding of current and prospective consumers, therefore, improving the targeting of customers through segmentation.

Utilization occurred of eight self-rating measures, one each for wellbeing, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, self-control, self-awareness, and spirituality. Growth mindset measures received individual comparison with nine positive mental health measures. The null hypothesis was r ≤ .03. There were nine alternative hypotheses, one per positive mental health measure. The sample size was 148, obtained by internet survey distribution. The result was failure to reject the null hypotheses for all nine alternative hypotheses allowing for the following conclusions: no evidence of associated relationships; growth mindset and positive mental health constructs are meaningful and useful; belief alone does not lead to change effort. Recommended research includes qualitative case studies, quasi-experiment comparisons, development of enhanced measurements, or longitudinal observation.
