The main objective of the study was to establish the role of knowledge sharing in the relationship between strategic leadership and strategy implementation among commercial banks in South Sudan. The subsequent hypothesis was that there is no significant intervening effect of knowledge sharing on the relationship between strategic leadership and strategy implementation. The Upper Echelon theory, Knowledge-Based theory, and Dynamic Capabilities Theory served as the foundation for the study. The study used a cross-sectional research approach and a positivist mindset. The 30 commercial banks in South Sudan made up the study’s population. Hence, a census survey was conducted. With the aid of semi-structured questionnaires, primary data was gathered. The four-step method of analysis outlined by Baron and Kenny (1986) was used to analyse the data. The study’s conclusions demonstrate that the relationship between strategic leadership and strategy implementation is considerably mediated by knowledge sharing. This finding is consistent with knowledge-based theory, which contends that an organization’s capacity to carry out its strategies is based on its capacity to capitalize on, protect, and utilize the knowledge it generates and disseminates. This study would play a vital role in the development of banking regulations and policies to support improved comparability of banks by fostering information sharing among many stakeholders to build capacity and skills.

Despite being a well-established field of study, the Knowledge Management (KM)
theory is still deficient in capturing important indigenous knowledge domains, a
prime example is of Unani Medicines. The main aim of the study is, therefore,
to enrich KM theory and practice through proposing a Knowledge Management
Framework (KMF) for traditional Unani Medicines (UM), that has distinct philosophy and principles as compared to other systems of traditional medicines (TM).
The proposal is based on a) identification of existing KMFs’ limitations; b) understanding the nature of Unani Medicines knowledge; c) applying Activity Theory
(AT) concepts for managing knowledge of UM; and d) validation of CKMF by domain experts and by a prototype. The process involved review of literature in the
fields of KMF, UM and AT; a qualitative interpretive case study was conducted
to understand the nature of UM knowledge and its requirements (involving document analysis, data generation workshops and qualitative interviews with domain
experts); and external validation of proposed CKMF has been done by UM domain
experts and through developing an application prototype based on proposed CKMF.
The majority of the existing KMFs are largely based on universalistic, reductionist
or fragmented views of knowledge and, thus, are unable to fulfil the requirements
of indigenous knowledge systems. Lack of KMF for UM can, thus, be attributed
to inherent difficulties involved in preserving an indigenous medicinal knowledge
system where the nature of knowledge is unique, i.e. holistic, diverse, contested,
practice-based (tacit), contextual, historical and approximate. This qualitative interpretive research study concluded that AT offers a strong theoretical approach to
design a CKMF to fulfil the UM knowledge requirements.
This study contributes to KM theory enrichment through proposing a CKMF for
an indigenous medicinal system with a specific nature of knowledge. Presently, this
kind of KMFs are non-existent. The proposed KMF is a significant step towards
preserving a rich knowledge domain of traditional Unani Medicines that offers
immense potential as an alternate and holistic health regime.

The purpose of this study is to express the experiences, ideas, needs, and the use of information technology for the development of management information systems in a higher education institution. This study is qualitative approach research using the case study method. The research data collection uses the techniques of observation, interview, and documentation study. The research procedure used in this research consists of several research steps utilizing the case study method of Robert K. Yin: research planning, research design, research preparation, research data collection, research data analysis, and doing the research report. The research analysis is done by pattern matching. The data validity testing through data source triangulation and technique triangulation. The result of the study presents: (1) the analysis of management information system based on tacit and explicit knowledge through the process of exchanging experience, idea, and initiative, (2) the management information system design based on the needs analysis, and (3) the development of management information system using information technology.

The chapter analyses knowledge management paradigms for the understanding and prioritisation of risks (risk assessment), leading to decision making amongst policymakers. Studies and approaches on knowledge-based risk assessment and, in general, risk management vary depending on perceptions of risk, and these perceptions affect the knowledge scope and, ultimately, affect decisions on policy. Departing from the problems of big data in aviation, the shortcomings of the existing knowledge management paradigms and the problems of data conversion to knowledge in aviation risk management approaches are discussed. The chapter argues that there is a need for transciplinarity and interdisciplinarity for greater understanding of context deriving from the challenges in the big data era and in aviation policymaking. In order to address the challenging dynamic context in aviation, the chapter proposes a strength/knowledge-based inquiry that involves public sector and high-power organisations in order to gain holistic knowledge and to aid the decision analysis of policymakers.
