... hospitalization, a dermatologic consultation was requested to evaluate a macular melanosis of skin, present from birth. On clinical evaluation, the lesions were suggestive for nevus spilus with checkerboard distribution; furthermore, some pale pink spots compatible with nevus roseus, partially overlapped with the nevus spilus were identified (Figure 1a, b).
