... Furthermore, when metaverse apps and devices are immersive, users experience a profound feeling of 'presence' within the virtual world, becoming fully engrossed in it. The concept of Personal Innovativeness in Information Technology (PITT) has been explored in various domains, including research on enterprise resource planning systems (Hwang, 2014), computer self-efficacy (Zhang & Liu, 2023), and mobile technology (Lu et al., 2005). However, there is a scarcity of research that investigates the effects of PITT on immersion and the sense of presence in metaverse apps and devices. ...
... This finding is in line with past studies that found relationships between PE and flow experience (Ha et al., 2007) and immersion experience (Kari & Kosa, 2023). Moreover, this study unveil the positive influence of personal innovativeness in information technology (PITT) on consumers' immersion and sense of presence (H4), addressing a research gap and enriching related literature (Hwang, 2014;Lu et al., 2005;Zhang & Liu, 2023). Furthermore, the study confirmed that immersion and sense of presence positively impact Generation Y's adoption intention of metaverse apps and devices (H5), aligning with prior research findings (De Canio et al., 2022;Jang & Park, 2019;Yan et al., 2023). ...

The purpose of this study is to investigate Generation Y’s intention to use metaverse Apps and devices in the context of the emerging markets. In doing so, by considering the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this research delves into the relationships between the intention to use metaverse apps and devices, the sense of presence, perceived attributes of ease of use, usefulness, enjoyment, and personal innovativeness. A self-administered survey questionnaire was designed to collect the data from Gen Y which yielded 205 valid responses. The research model was evaluated using two approaches: partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) as a symmetric approach, and fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) as an asymmetric approach. The findings from PLS-SEM emphasize the positive effects of perceived enjoyment (PE), personal innovativeness in information technology (PIIT), perceived usefulness (PU), and perceived ease of use (PEU) on immersion and the sense of presence. Furthermore, it identified the mediating role of immersion and presence between PE, PIIT, PEU, PU, and intention to use metaverse apps and devices. The fsQCA analysis uncovers two distinct combinations of factors that elucidate high intention to use metaverse apps and devices. Among these, perceived enjoyment (PE) emerges as the most pivotal factor influencing heightened intention. This study is the first to explore Gen Y’s intention to adopt metaverse apps and devices. The findings from this study will provide useful insights to the metaverse companies and internet companies about how to encourage the young consumer to participate in metaverse world.

Guided by attribution theory, this study aims to examine the influence of perceived usefulness and perceived deterioration of environmental problems on young consumers’ purchase intentions for green food in China. Furthermore, to test the mediating effects of a healthy lifestyle and attitude towards green food, as well as the moderating role of fear of pandemic recurrence. An online questionnaire survey was conducted targeting young Chinese consumers, which yielded 323 usable responses. The SEM-PLS technique was employed to test the hypothesized relationships. The study’s findings suggest that perceived usefulness and attitude positively affect green food purchase intentions. Furthermore, the study revealed that healthy lifestyles acted as a mediator in the relationship between perceived usefulness, perceived deterioration of environmental problems, and attitude towards green food. Furthermore, this study validated the role of fear of pandemic occurrence in moderating the relationship between attitude towards green food and intentions to purchase it. This research extends the application of attribution theory in the green food research field and contributes to new knowledge for a better understanding of green food purchase intention for the young consumer demographic. Furthermore, this study established and examined novel relationships, including the mediating effects of a healthy lifestyle and attitude towards green food as well as the moderating role of fear of pandemic recurrence in narrowing the gap between attitude and behavior intention. The study’s findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and green food marketers, emphasizing the significance of fostering positive perceptions and attitude towards green food.
... Managerial implications naturally stem from these theoretical considerations. Many science fiction narratives, with their visions of distant futures, offer valuable inspiration for today's managers and decision-makers [24], particularly within supply chain management. These stories can spark innovation in areas such as supply chain risk management, sustainable logistics, and adaptation to uncertain or rapidly evolving environments. ...

This research note explores how logistics, though often overlooked, is a central element in space fantasy science fiction narratives. In Frank Herbert’s Dune, the spice—essential for interstellar travel—demonstrates how logistics influences space geopolitics. Star Wars highlights the logistical challenges involved in managing an intergalactic empire, from constructing the Death Stars to coordinating rebel fleets. In Star Trek, space exploration depends on intricate logistics to sustain ships, space stations, and diplomatic relations. Finally, Isaac Asimov’s Foundation illustrates how the collapse of logistics can lead to the downfall of an intergalactic empire. These films and novels reveal that logistics extends beyond mere materials and operations management; it becomes a key question of survival, power, and stability within these fictional universes. Science fiction narratives not only offer insights into future logistics but also prompts reflection on contemporary challenges in supply chain and infrastructure management.
... Non-probability purposive sampling was employed to gather data from Chinese tourists aged 18 years and above who have intentions to travel in the near future. The data was collected through an electric questionnaire by the Kingsoft survey platform, which is a good platform in China (Zhang and Liu 2023). The questionnaire link was then disseminated through Tencent QQ, WeChat, and email between May and June 2022, providing respondents with the option to complete the survey using their smartphones or computers. ...
... In this study, the structural model was evaluated using path coefficients, coefficient of determination (R 2 ), effect size (f 2 ), and predictive relevance (Q 2 ) measures [94], [96]- [98]. The significance level of the path coefficient was determined using a bootstrapping procedure with 5,000 resamples, as recommended by previous studies [99]. ...

Mass customization (MC) is a crucial strategy for manufacturers to gain competitive advantages. Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems are widely adopted in manufacturing. This study applied the dynamic capabilities view (DCV) to explore how firms leverage ERP systems to facilitate the implementation of MC. This study examined the effect of ERP assimilation (ERPA) and organizational agility (OA) on mass customization capability (MCC), the mediating role of OA, and the moderating role of absorptive capacity (AC). Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire survey that yielded 166 responses in Jiangsu province, China. The partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) approach was employed to test the study hypotheses. Results revealed that ERPA affects OA, and OA also affects MCC. However, no significant relationship was found between ERPA and MCC. Again, data supported the mediating effect of OA between ERPA and MCC and the moderating effect of AC between ERPA and OA.
... Therefore, ER1 was dropped to improve discriminant validity. These techniques for detecting discriminant validity have been used in other studies, such as Zhang and Liu (2023). Overall, the model demonstrated good discriminant validity and can be further analysed. ...

This study examines how risk communication and risk perception related to the pandemic affect tourists' intention to engage in pro-environmental travel behavior. An online survey was conducted, yielding 449 valid responses. The data was analysed using Partial Lease Square – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA). The results indicate that risk communication and cognitive risk perception significantly impact pro-environmental travel behavioral intention (PETBI). Although the output of PLS-SEM does not support the positive effect of affective risk perception on PETBI, the results of fsQCA support this relationship. Additionally, this study confirms the mediating role of cognitive risk perception between risk communication and PETBI. Environmental responsibility is found as a significant mediator between affective and cognitive risk perception and environmental moral obligation, while environmental concern is established as a significant mediator between cognitive risk perception and environmental moral obligation. Although social influence did not moderate the relationship between environmental moral obligation and PETBI, based on the results of the fsQCA, it can positively influence PETBI. These findings provide valuable insights for the tourism industry in China and other countries, enabling them to develop effective strategies to address risk communication and perception of the pandemic and promote pro-environmental travel behavior. Furthermore, the study offers theoretical and managerial implications for scholars and practitioners alike.
